  • I hope Randy and Fred include this one in their Live Set.

  • AAAAHHHHH!!! have not listened to this in maybe 35 years, man this is still great!!!!!

  • @ rumrich Obviously they'd never dealt with American Democrats, specially the one we've got now, Trudeau's dark spawn

  • Hehehe.. :-)

  • This is the BTO I love the best....First Record!!!!

  • I think they were actually mugged in Canada when they recorded this song because that is one polite mugger to say please before he robs you. New York muggers don't say please.

  • one of the best

  • This album was really over looked, but Krokus covered one of the songs from this album later, and everyone thought it was an original which was "Stayed Awake All Night" this album was landmark when I first heard the more popular song "Hold Back The Water" I was so impressed with the sound these guys were putting out compared to everyone else. B.T.O. invented Heavy, but they will be remembered for their more pop stuff like Taking Care Of Business or Let It Ride which were actually more pop..

  • @egcroan yeah, & were lucky Randy left the Guess who!, And they folded without him..

  • Song Lyrics I was walkin on down the alley and a face I've never seen came from deep in the darkness and his mouth came on real mean And I thought he be liquered and he staggered you know he staggered to his feet and he said Boy you better move real slow and gimme your money please he said Gimme Your Money Please Wasn't that strange Wasn't that strange indeed Wasn't that strange Wasn't that strange indeed He said Gimme Your Money Please If anyone is interested just ask I have more.
  • Beat that!

  • Track 1 Album 1 B.T.O.!

  • BTO is Best

  • when you are walking or driving and the people start getting darker ,beware and careful ,this is not racist its the dam truth

  • Nice!

  • I grew up listening to these guys, while all my friends were listening to disco.

    they really can PLAY!

I'm off to dust off my vinyl...

  • these boys didnt know you cant walk in central park after dark!! great band..

  • does anyone have any tabs for this song? i cant find them anywhere :(

  • I KNOW YOU LOL

  • This is a great song. The audio is crappy. Through the years I've heard this song on vinyle, 8 track and cassette. And never heard a clear copy. I'll never give up looking . Its going to be so cool when I find a clear copy. Can't wait.

  • love this song ty so much!

  • Tags- canadian?! Meh, they still rock.

  • apparently 5 people were broke and so was their taste in rock and roll

  • This still kicks as much ass as it ever did! The "artists" that the music labels try to cram down our throats today aren't worthy of scrubbing the toilets on BTO's tour bus, or even carrying the empty beer bottles to the recycle bin!

  • q bacan.. ese es buen rock..

  • Ah yes, Guess Who refugees gone right !

  • Well, at least he ( the man with the shotgun, that is ) was polite...

    Kick-Ass Track btw ;)

  • Saw BTO play this at the Old Victoria Theatre in TO 1973. Brought the house down.

  • good stuff!

  • kick ass song

  • Song title is a true story of when Fred Turner was mugged in NYC. That was the insperation for the song.

  • GIMME YOUR THUMBS UP!!.... please

  • One of their Smoothest Rocking songs !!!!!!!!!! .

  • Always one of my favorite BTO songs

  • Woooooooooooo

  • I have a copy of this song on the original 8-track! :-D

  • Blair thornton always was my favorite member of BTO

  • 5 people need to give me their money

  • CF Turner has a motherfucker of a voice lol.

  • I Hope Randy and Fred include this one in their live set.

  • Everytime I hear BTO in a bar I feel like smashing my beer against the counter, starting a huge bar where people get thrown on the bar and get smashed with pool cues. All this with the only non-fighter playing Piani along to the Juke box.

  • thank you markuskar162, much obliged; i have new found respect for randy :)

  • can anyone please tell me who is playing that amazing outro solo at the end? is it blair thornton or one of the bachman bros ? many thanks

  • @rebetikoXR

Randy Bachman plays all solo on the first album,Thornton came in on the third album Not Fragile.

  • Goddo is great too

  • greatest canadian "ROCK N ROLL" band.

  • Sounds like ZZ Top.

  • Classic BTO, LOVE IT !!!

  • GREAT STUFF !! One of my BTO faves !

  • Great 70's BTO tune! Thanks for posting, also for the lyrics.

  • Here's another one that should have been on K DST, San Andreas.

  • Glad I found this posting. I have not heard this song since it came out.

  • Greatttttt

    thanks

  • Great song. Too bad 'Takin Care of Business' and 'You ain't Seen Nothing Yet' got all that airplay back in the 70's. This is one of their best if not their best song. Great guitar solos. Absolutely Canada's Best Rock Band ever. Sorry Rush fans.

  • @HARDROCKONLY1 Both Rush and BTO are awesome, as well as April Wine and others. Room for more than one great artist in this country

  • GREAT SONG

  • 8 track flashback, man. Really cool BTO tune.

  • B and T's new album kicks ass, these guys still rock in their late 60s

  • @TOSportsFan1990 No Kidding..You can tell that those years spent in retirement paid off well for Fred's Voice..He can still scream!!

  • This ALBUM just plain ole' ROCKED & ROLLED!!.........(not to even mention, possibly, this, the hardest driving song they ever recorded.).........."Sledgehammer" (as I read below).....agree....neck-n-neck!.........Excellent Post.....Excellent Era!......THANKS..!

  • So damn heavy for '73! Can't believe how it just thumps from beginning to end! Crank it up!!

  • @longliverocknmetal you should listen to "Sledgehammer: if you wanna hear a heavy song from BTO, that song thumps your head hard

  • @spidey5959 . Thanx for the advice. It sure does!

  • This song kicks maximum ass and is very under-rated in the rockin world.

  • Cruisin' in the old '65 Fairlane with my Sanyo 8-track and Jensen 6x9 co-axials thumpin'.........oh yeahhh.......

  • someone needs the put "the feeling" up, please...

  • This tune is great when played at about 10 on the richter fucking scale. Back when I had my house in Prince George I had four Bose 901's set up in the basement party room and I'd pass out ear plugs then put this tune on. For you youngsters, Bose 901's had the capacity to deliver 600 watts unlimited. At 5 on a 10 volume scale, this tune could make your drinks slide across the table and at 6 in would crack glass. 8 ruptured unprotected eardrums and 10 brought the cops. LOLOL

  • @tyme4mike what about 11?

  • @tyme4mike Those were the ones with their own stands, right? I had 501's, but I was young and poor and couldn't get 901's! HAHA Now I've got a sub-woofer the size of Cleveland! Pissin' off neighbors since 2001!

  • @tyme4mike Those were the ones with their own stands, right? I had 501's, but I was young and poor and couldn't get 901's! HAHA Now I've got a sub-woofer the size of Cleveland! Beratin' neighbors since 2001!

  • @jeffinanaheim Yep! You'd bust windows long before you'd fry woofers.

  • bto is the best i m a 1970 s man

  • also look up THE GUESS WHO

  • BTO U ROCKED US IN THE FREE WORLD BACK THEN N YOU'RE STILL ROCKIN US IN THE FREE WORLD TODAY!! RIGHT ON BRUTHA'S!!!! ~,,,/ V,,=Peace

  • this is one of B.T.O best song ,,, PS look up ironhorse

  • @duxberry1958 had the album in the early 80s, tumbleweeds fuckin awesome

  • @duxberry1958 but worsest album cover..... ever!

  • brilliant band n song!!

  • When I saw these guys back in the 70s, they where at the old Kiel Auditorium and where a bit shy to play at first but after they herd how the crowed loved them they rock the place down. They still rock Saint Louis. I may be an old fart but i still love these guys. Right On BTO

  • Track 1 Song 1 Bachman Turner Overdrive (self titled album)!

    The best!

  • I can conclude that this song is about getting mugged by a drunk guy

  • I hear BTO everyday, so you can imagine I get sick of "You Ain't Seen Nothin' Yet" or "Takin Care of Business" but when the DJ is in the right mind, maybe tokin' maybe sippin' a rye and coke, he'll play this gem. And whenever that happens I crank it. I could listen to this over those hits.

  • BTO INSTRUCTIONS : Insert CD into car/truck cd player----Turn volume to Full Press down on Accelerator and Go.

  • @atomicfarmboy59

    now your speaking my language!

  • What a GUITAR solo.

  • Mi faszt tudtok Ti a zenéről ? Itt kezdődik !!

  • Great song by BTO --was [ Little Gandy Dancer ] on there - another one of my favorites .

  • Guitar master.

  • good rock' n rollers!

  • love these guys

  • My first impression was it\s like a KISS

  • First album.Killer cut. I prefer DOWN AND OUT MAN. Those damn Canadiens. If they play their cards right we could make them the 51 state. You know you want that hosers!

  • @dbeard451 You can't be serious, why would they want to be like us?

Their more free then us ignorant Americans, they turn a blind eye to weed smok'en and prostitution and have all the pristine land that the US corporations haven't raped yet.

Free health care and are the easiest, nicest people to ever talk to.

  • @icicicles okay brother, you got me. Canada is cool. hey, i was just kidding. and not all Americans are ignorant, just helpless.

  • @dbeard451 so what are we waiting for, lets move to Canada. LOL

  • @icicicles dont tempt me, i got beer money.

  • this song really drove another great beat and guitar riffs. thats why i like BTO...solid 4/4 count and simple and punchy if not raunchy!

  • # 1 track first album! I remember finally getting them girls going! (they were all country) and they wanted more!

  • give your money plz

  • thnks for the lyrics

  • This song rocks!

  • Hey Hillbilly where u be ?

  • @mrmsrv hey partner im right here under my hat

  • Totally rocks! These boys can educate!

  • Freakin' awesome song !

    Thanks for sharing it !

  • BTO lo mejor del rock

  • simplemente extraordinarios nunca me canso de escucharlos

  • ahhhhhhhhhh ........volumen.

  • Fred Turner Was The strength in this Band,...

  • HAWT RAWKIN!!!!

  • This should be the IRS's theme song

  • naww, this the "barak o music"

  • this must have been bernie maddoff's fav song :)

  • BTO Not Fragile was one of the first and best albums I ever owned. They still sound just as great as when I was in jr. high.

  • Was that Obama robbing him? Watch out for those " bad boys on"

  • Astounding - I still love this song and group - as much as when a early teen.

    So cool - more please!

  • Real Rock with a kick. One of the 70's very best groups.

  • Thank you Blueironbutterfly for posting

    this BTO Song!

This is GREAT, good music in the past and still good music today!!

  • More and more, I'm discovering just how great BTO are...you here the same hits on the radio all the time, then you discover gems like this song, and you realize again how much their music just plain rocks!

  • NOT TOO BAD

  • kick my ass

  • That is some good shit!!!

  • Love BTO.....this was some great stuff....still is.....

  • I always thought that this was a cool song. It was different, even for BTO. I like it a lot though. I love that 70's guitar music and there aren't many who are better at it than these guys.

  • Yes, cool & different describes it.

    Great song... love the feel.

I wish someone would post DOWN AND OUT MAN. That's another greatl one.

  • I was able to find Down and Out Man. Try it again.

  • Great !

    Thanks.

  • Killer Song !

  • Great song-brings back alot of good memories. Thanks blueironbutterfly for posting !

  • Hey man, I agree with you all the way brother

  • can anyone post lowland fling?

  • I was a big BTO fan and I didn't hear about Bachman feuding with the other BTO guys....what happened? It seems that if Bachman had problems with both BTO and the Guess Who, maybe he's hard to get along with....

  • Randy was a Mormon and didn't drink and do drugs...but Fred and all them we're experimenting...and Randy didn't like it.

  • randy.... you and robbie get it togeher ... you have a great reuion tour.... even better than you and burton

  • that aint that bad but id vote "taking care of business" over this

  • Its hard to believe that Randy Bachman had huge success with a boatload of hits from The Guess Who also and then BTO. You just don't see that much success from musicians today who leave successful careers to start another one elsewhere or start a solo career. Very underrated guitarest.

  • I couldn't agree more. Randy teamed up with two outstanding and very different vocalists. Too bad he can't get over whatever differences he has with Robbie, C.F. and Blair and give us a tour.

  • this is awesome..thank you...good song!!! keep on rockin'

  • Booooaaah. The guitar sound and the voice of Randy! This is still great music to me!

  • that's not Bachman singing, it's CF Turner

  • they are rock !!

i'm 13 years old and i love them in Spain we love them !

  • BTO still kicks ass. Period. Plug in the CD, turn up the volume to "ouch" and they are still some of the best driving tunes in existence. One of Canada's gifts to the rock world that still keeps on giving!

  • Interesting that BTO asks the listener a question in this song. "Wasn't that strange?"

  • My goodness i nearly had a heart attack. Well thanks for telling how much German there is in me. lol

Good music, This group made alot of great songs.

  • hell yeahhhhhhhhhhhhhh

  • To Konarider100, this band is shit hot and if I were you i would investigate them further, you wont be disappointed, I live in Australia and I am in my 50s and have listened to them since the begining, they epitomise original rock and roll, one of the best , but i think you know that already, TURN THE VOLUME UP.

  • its cool i heard Konarider100 is gay.

  • MFG!! Yeah, Im a 50 yr old trucker and it still gets me going, I LOVED IT THEN, and still do. Back then the speakers couldnt handle the base with power hooked up to the 8 track, LOL

  • this song reminds me so much of rush's spirit of radio

  • i found an old tape with this music

    and i love it

    i´m only 16 years old

  • Power band!!

  • I was born in 66, my brother in 56 so my music was influenced early on with rock. As kids my age listened to Sat night fever and Grease for God's sake I rocked out to Sabbath, Tull, Bad Co, The Who... thank God!

  • Tap the Keg....

  • Mister Charles Frederick (C.F.) Turner!!

  • yes, Randy Bachman IS Canadian by bieth, and I like seeing what he has done with his success from BTO and the guess who.... a real tribut to musicians everywhere... don't let it go to your head, be real. like Randy Bachman... Takin' Care of Christmas...

  • One of the finest hard rock acts USA has produced.

  • Canada I'm pretty sure.

  • Oops, sorry. Canada's contributed to modern music as much as Scotland, eh?

  • Sod off... BTO contributed more than you did

  • BTO spoiled me, they were my first concert....Toledo sports arena, about 2 months after the released "Not Fragil"....They must have played for 2 and a half hours. They played nearly every song on all 3 lps.

  • I've been a BTO fan since they arrived on the scene back in the early 70's. Remember seeing them in Des Moines Iowa in 76 or 77 and they just blew the doors off the place. Music like this will live forever versus the stuff they are putting out today which will disappear within a few years. BTO rocks. I'm acestud's older bro.

  • Epic.

  • My bro and i used to rockout to these guys all the time they kick ass!! This song and Stay Awake All Night really bring back the memories. I saw these guys on the 4WheelDrive tour with 20k other crazies then in a club in the same town 10yrs later with about 3-400 crazies and they kicked ass both times!! BTO forever!!!

  • Seems like a great day for a BTO kick.
