I hope to keep Serengeti my little secret. I feel like so much of his poetry would be looked over and taken for granted if he came into the public eye. It's really painful, though, as I feel a man with such a higher vocabulary deserves far more than some shithead like Lil Wayne whose choruses are nothing more than "pussy, money, weed."

This tune, and the album, represent a real important moment in Serengeti's work: he has mastered characters/storytelling so well that he's attempted and succeeded in doing a classic American sports-hero story, like Rocky, Raging Bull, The Fighter, The Wrestler, On the Waterfront. (and maybe Eastbound & Down).

Dennehy was great, but here he's really told a story, with an arc and an end. Stunning achievement from one of the most original, interested and talented rappers that I know of.
