Actually, if anyone is going to be equated with Alexander the Great, shouldn't it be Bush, who like Alexander, took over Iraq for no really good reason?

And how exactly is Obama going to cause us to lose our freedom? Even the freedom-hating Bush and Cheney couldn't really take away our basic freedoms like they wanted, they could only limit them in certain ways that Obama is now reversing, because the executive branch in our democracy has limited powers. Americans live overseas for lots of reasons, work, military service, to learn another language or to teach English, to work for non-profit organizations, etc. Italians couldn't have supported our cause in any tangible way. They are not allowed to donate or take active part in our campaigning. That was done by Americans. But they were certainly free to celebrate and dance with us when Obama won, because they are happy for America and for the world.
