I't only playable if I put a capo on the 3rd. Were you able to lower the action a lot? I see in the video that it;s very low! :o

Tu es démasqué!;) Félicitations indeed, pour ta collection de guitares. Je suis moi aussi un amoureux des Telecaster & client des vidéos d'Arlen Roth. Encore bravo pour ta collec de téloches & autres dobros. A+ peut être.

  • Haha i learned violin since 7 and also because of the language and country i was used to DO RE MI FA SOL LA SI, not E G bla bla :)))

  • Great stuff,your a lot of fun

  • Hey. that was relly great. I can play everything by learning from you. Your very good at showing howto without making it boring. Thats something not many can do.

I really really hope you also could make a tutorial of Lenny cravitz lady on acoustic. Cuz thats an amazing song to play.

  • wow! what a beautiful guitar!!!!

  • Is that a rogue reso?

  • you sure have some sweet guitars.

  • Very,very nice playing.Great job.*****

  • Hello, What are the bar chords you play at the end of the song? Thanks for the great vids!

  • Speaking of Dobros I would love to see a video from you on the song "The Ballad of Curtis Lowe" by Lynyrd Skynyrd. That has always been a favorite of mine and I can't seem to find to many good ones on you tube. You have helped me out a lot with your videos and this would be an excellent addition to my arsenal. It would be greatly appreciated. Rock On Mojo! Thanks in advance.

  • Hey 3-chord, I just wrote the first line of a new song based on your 'so sue me' line "I ain't got no money but I sure got the blues"

    Is that original?

    Thanks again from England

  • O ok He is a guy that comes on DIscovery channel here in the States

  • hes on discovery here in Norway too!

  • Great lesson as are all that I've watched. Funny growing up "The Ballad Of Curtis" was one of my all time favorite songs. They mentioned a Dobro in that song which for years I never had a clue what they were talking about. Lol, anywayzzzzzzzzzz cool vid.

  • Good job

    Jessica in Canada

  • Thanks :)

  • mmkay

  • Tu viens du québec non?

  • Non, je viens de France :)

  • Thanks so much fella - a brilliant lesson (now even I sound better than rubbish!). I love your ethos and kind hearted ways.

Now that you've won my trust - do you recommend any particular budget priced steel / brass biscuit resonators?

  • Hard to recommend. All I can say is that mine is Rogue, it's only $300, and considering how I play, I don't deserve much more than that :)

  • I like your teaching style. Easier to follow than the average teacher. Simple is better when you are just learning. Thanks for sharing your gift with us.

  • Thanks for the kind words!

  • man i thought you were american. I guess that not being is the reason that makes me able to understand you. I´m kinda lost with the C, A, ... I come from the Do, Re, Mi... too. Anyway, your lessons are pretty useful. Thanks from Spain

  • Excellent lesson, thanks.

Just to let you know, I went to visit your site and google said "this site may harm yor computer", you might want to look into that.

  • yup. And they're full of it. What happened is another site hosted on the same server was infected - not mine. I have been trying to have them remove the damn thing since... grr... Google is fast to slap you with that tag, but slow to remove it!

  • good lesson.. thanx for sharing....good man

  • thanks for the lesson

  • You're very welcome!

  • ben dis donc tu parle bien anglais!

    sympa la vidéo

  • Merci. Les Americains ne sont pas aussi impressiones par mon anglaid malheureusement! :)

Ca fait plaisir de converser en francais de temps en temps... merci pour ta gentillesse!

  • Thanks for this lesson. I will recommend it to my students. The dobro guitar is not well known in Cairo, so they will appreciate both the teaching and the guitar.

  • TNX for the lesson ! About the song: BBB recorded this song (also) on Sept.20/1951 in Paris as, "Hey Hey Baby", not as "Hey Hey" !!

  • Thx for the info!

  • please tell me why you call your middle finger the johny cash finger ?

  • Do a google pic search of Johnny Cash, and you'll figure it out ;)

  • Isn't this song by Eric Clapton?

  • Hm, it's not really a blues if you just play the I and the IV part, isn't it?

  • If Big Bill says it is, then it is in my book no matter what the "theory" behind it says...

  • Well, theory or not, it sounds incomplete if you only play the I and the IV of a blues and Hey Hey does have a V-turnaround.

I don't mean to nag here, but I like your lessons a lot, they are really insightful, entertaining and effective, and it would be a shame if that energy would only hold out for HALF of Hey Hey, because you teach it so well.

And I think that was quite enough butt-licking, I'm going to bed. :-D

  • One of the best teachers I've seen in some time. Thanks man.

  • Thanks, I appreciate your very kind comment!

  • i was self taght for a while but i already know this song but you play it wayy better than i do could you make a video abou "this is my life" by the beatles thanx

  • Thanks for the kind words. I will look at your request. I am not familiar with that song. I know it, but I have never played it.

  • you are one cool dude...

i am "self taught" no lessons... until now...

    thanks

    i'm a new fan...

drop by me for my resonator work... >>> stanleys pick ninesticks <<<

  • I am self taught as well, though along the way I have received a lot of tips from much better players than I ever will be. This is my attempt at giving back for that generosity I received :)

  • i guess you have already been told how great is your help, thanks a lot!

  • Thank you kindly :)

  • I wish I had a teacher like you when I started to play! Very nice way of explaining! Five stars!

  • Thanks man. The guys who took the time to teach me how to play out of the goodness of their heart are the reason why I am making these videos, so your thanks are really to them for their generosity and kindness! :)

  • I can now play this song because of you. Thanks! You seem like a pretty cool guy too, by the way. I'm definitly checking out you're other vids and those two websites you mentioned. Maybe now my play won't sound so horrible.

  • Glad to be of help... Keep practicing and having fun! :)

  • hey dude....you are so cool...i actually am learning from you man....mikey

  • I am psyched to be of assistance. Keep practicing and having fun! :)
