@traxit947 sure... but if you like to hunt nomads with your fighter (or another ship class owned by you) and don't like to trade that much, it's the best way to get one... and btw. at that point i already owned a battleship and some other capital class spaceships... and fighters...

this money was farmed for an event... so, its easy money for the winner... and some fun for all players...

heres a little easter egg (i might upload it later) at one of the missions in the begging after going throught a jump gate you will be talked to by some guy who claims that other freeport7 survivors are diying/dissapearing and he gets shot down by military SO the easter egg is that if you kill ALL the military ships at least one of them will have a nomad gun and if you pick it up and and land when you take a look at it is gone

Microsoft shut down the global server list a long time ago, so you cant connect to online games. Luckily there is a patch that allows you to use a mock-up to connect.

@Purazuma2 nah, i think he got a different problem... if you connect to a specific server, vista often promts timeouts... on the berlin server there were some, with that problem...

at the official discoverygc forums there are tutorials for vista... and there is english support for it ;)

btw.if you have a server you are playing at, its better if you use a shortcut with the server data... the workaround is kind of buggy with some mods... (or in general ^^ i only tried with mods)

@HellHunterCombine depends on the version of discovery u re playing... in 4.85 i don't know if this exist anymore, but i used to trade diamonds from dresden or new berlin to kyushu and back route... maybe u will find something better in the freelancer companion ;)

there are some options to make money in freelancer:

1. trading

2. multiplayer events (pvp deathmatches or duels, races etc.)

and

3. farming some npc´s

many players do not like tradeing very much... so there are 2 options left... and if you have at least a gunboat, you can get down fighter class npc´s very easy... and for the nomads you can get good amounts of money for only 1 used cargo space per unit... and the best part of it: you will not mess with your reputation ;)

its the advanced train, u can get in the discovery mod... in discovery 4.82 it have a cargo space of 4500... in the discovery mod 4.85 it has 5000 ;)

(as well as other transport vessels)

in 4.85, u can get it in the 'oder shipyard' in 'new berlin' for about 190million credits

hmmm... what version of the modmanager do you use? some players got problems wird modmanager 1.4 or 1.5... i use 1.31 and got no problems :)

yes, its discovery 4.82 in this video (now most servers have 4.85 ^^ even the server i play on)

the system is onicron delta (only present in this mod) and u can get the nomads just by shooting and looting them ;) (also u can get other pilots... like bounty hunters or hessians etc.)

to get this many nomads we were hunting a lot ;)

Heh nice...i remember how much i was surprised to have stumbled upon the Hispania's wreckage...but i forgot what the system name was...it had 2 pirate/hostile planets, was in a border system, in which you come in through a wormhole and into a cloud, and the wreck was between the planets. The cloud only extends so far though, then its just off to on of the planets till the ship comes up.

go to the discovery homepage then look at the server list ,write the ip of the server to a paper, then search the freelancer folder for fldirectip.exe.,write the ip onto the box then press 'add server' then press, launch freelancer,then go to multiplayer, there is your server,and of course the mod has to be activated at all times

If you have FLMM, activate the realistic battleship mod (cheap) this mod comes with the install, i believe... you can then buy the osiris on planet manhattan :) [btw... I have the osiris and I have yet to find its cargo space limit]

better activate the discovery mod... its cooler... you can buy this ship in the newcastle system... but in the new discovery versions (it was 4.82 in this video) you can buy a better one in the munich system

I can't find this information anywhere, so I'm going to ask it here. The Discovery mod- are all the features (ships, systems, etc.) available in single player? I'm curious 'cause I'm going to buy the full game in a few days.

Also, can you play the original game's storyline with this installed?

I don't know about the storyline, but all the features ARE available in single player. Also, the bots AI has been given a touch-up, as they are also a lot more agressive and will use a lot more shield generators and nanites...

You can play the singleplayer mode with this mod installed, but it may be possible, that you are not able to buy some of the ships, because of the freelancer level (some ships are beyond reachable in singleplayer mode)... but you can use an "open singleplayer mode" there is no storyline, but you can buy all ships
