What reputable physician would sign on in these circumstances with a corporation (presumably for a hefty paycheck) as a 'lead doctor'? No way to be an objective observer, diagnostician and treating physician. I suspect Sanjay wonders same. The money is an incentive to underreport and undertreat; if he overreports (in BPs opinion), he's gone.

The clean-up workers do not know what the toxins they are inhaling are doing to their bodies, else they wouldn´t do it. How many of the clean-up workers that were employed after the Exxon Valdez spill are still with us ?

@kolkrabe19 most of the exxon valdez workers are dead. And they were allow to wear protective equipment. The workers are between a rock and a hard place. They desperately need to work, so I guess they are willing to put their lives on the line for that work. BP probably believes those workers are expendable.
