But just like other intoxicants I wouldn't recommend the casual use of it by children and teens under normal circumstances because they are still developing and it's not good to mess with a developing mind. It has already been proven that smoking cannabis does not kill braincells. In fact it actually developes growth of brain cells. The only reason the whole braincell thing is even an issue is because the study they used was done completely wrong. The rats used for the experiement were given a much higher does of cannabis then they were supposed to. So they were suffocated. When the brain lacks oxygen brain cells will be killed. So cannabis had nothing to do with that.

I smoke pot from time to time. I've seen friends getting completely hooked... some of them ended up smoking 5 doobies a day. They became obssessed with the stuff, very agressive and verged on paranoia.

Cannabis is NOT physically addictive. I was a daily smoker for 30 years and quit about a year ago due to urine testing at my work place. I had no withdrawl symptoms whatsoever. No craving or physical discomfort at all. I wish I could say the same for the Xanax and Vicodin the docs put me on for my back injury. That crap is pure poison.

I eat a vegan diet and smoke pot whenever I can. I rarely get the munchies, and when I do it is for fruit which is the perfect food for a "stoner" because it quenches thirst and hunger at the same time. Somewhat how cereal is also a good food. I tried alcohol and cigarettes before trying pot as probably the majority of pot smokers did. Those are what I would consider to be the "gateway" drugs if there is such a thing. @alexc475 in my opinion It's more a good thing than a bad thing. But just like other intoxicants I wouldn't recommend the casual use of it by children and teens under normal circumstances because they are still developing and it's not good to mess with a developing mind. At the same point I feel the need to pint out that alcohol is much more damaging. For me I feel if adults have the right to go home and drink a beer after work, they should be able to smoke a joint too if that's their choice.

The study you are refering to is based on THC within the system. You can be completely sober and still have THC in your system so most of those accidents probabbly occured when the person wasn't impaired at all from cannabis. You would have to do a closed course study with a number of people who are actually impaired by cannabis at the time to figure out the added risk factor when it comes to smoking cannabis and driving.

It has already been proven that smoking cannabis does not kill braincells. In fact it actually developes growth of brain cells. The only reason the whole braincell thing is even an issue is because the study they used was done completely wrong. The rats used for the experiement were given a much higher does of cannabis then they were supposed to. So they were suffocated. When the brain lacks oxygen brain cells will be killed. So cannabis had nothing to do with that.

Cannabis is NOT physically addictive. I was a daily smoker for 30 years and quit about a year ago due to urine testing at my work place. I had no withdrawl symptoms whatsoever. No craving or physical discomfort at all. I wish I could say the same for the Xanax and Vicodin the docs put me on for my back injury. That crap is pure poison.

Not so sure about what? If it is or isn't addictive? I do believe people can feel a psychological dependency on cannabis sense the effects of smoking it does give a feeling of escape from problems and peopel could certainly chase that feeling, but I personally know of many MANY people who've quit cold turkey for a drug test or job or whatever the reason may be. Cannabis causes no withdrawl, therefor you don't feel the need to continue to do it.

Not 100% true. While it is true that pot doesn't have any physical addictions, some people get mental addictions. I have mental addictions. If I stop I get really anxious and really confused for about a week.

I eat a vegan diet and smoke pot whenever I can. I rarely get the munchies, and when I do it is for fruit which is the perfect food for a "stoner" because it quenches thirst and hunger at the same time. Somewhat how cereal is also a good food. I tried alcohol and cigarettes before trying pot as probably the majority of pot smokers did. Those are what I would consider to be the "gateway" drugs if there is such a thing. You are young and naive. It will become clear if you keep an open mind.

Again I say you can't blame the substance for that because it causes no physical symptoms when you quit, I.E. throwing up, crampig, stomach aches. What you're talking about is mental. For example, a person who eats alot of twinkies then quits eating them will think about eating one if they see it or whatever, but they can still tell themself no. It is the exact same with cannabis.

The gateway drugs are booze and tobacco. I've tried cocaine and ecstasy and I can honestlysay that if I had never been drunk that I wouldn't have tried those things. I like to smoke a bit of weed every now and then but I'm not addicted in any way. I don't even drink anymore because it's more harmful to your body. Truth is, it depends on the personality of the individual whether they become addicted to a certain thing or not. There will always be 2 sides to this argument......

And the only way for people to fully understand a certain drug, be it cocaine, ecstasy, booze or whatever, is to study what scientists have discovered about it, and if you feel it necessary to try it, then go ahead. I hate cocaine and ecstasy because they are seriously harmful drugs. But accusing marijuana of being a gateway drug is highly narrow minded considering that you can die from alcohol poisoning but not from smoking marijuana.
