i have 2 hamsters but i reilised 1 is a girl and 1 is a boy.......coz they had 2 pups......so the mum and dad are Dec and Liberty and the kids/pups are Nugget and Snuggles

Hola @masterpivotSN,

Hasta los 15 días de edad, los pequeños maman de su madre. A partir de la primera quincena empiezan a comer semillas igual que sus padres. También puedes darle verdura, fruta, pasta o arroz (estas dos últimas solamente cocidas y sin sal ni especias).

Siguen mamando hasta casi el mes de edad, por eso es un error separarlos de la madre a los 15 días, como mucha gente cree.

Y lo normal es de 6 a 9 pequeños, aunque he tenido camadas de 1 y de 10 XD

Por norma general, cuantas más veces monte el macho a la hembra, más traerá XD

Lo cierto es que no, Kimi ha sido mi hamster más longevo: Superó los 35 meses de edad! ...le faltaron 21 días para cumplir los 3 años y... teniendo en cuanta que la esperanza de vida de un rusito es de 1,5 o 2 años...es muchísimo!

If they are Russian hamsters, they can keep together but if they are common you must separate them. I think Roborowsky hamsters can live together too but I have never had one of them T_T

in an official site of hamsters recommends that the father should be separated from the offspring because they can eat during pregnancy and the mother must also be separated mother becomes aggressive and can attack and kill the father. when they have grown can return to their homes again.

You can pick them when they are 15 days old, when already they have hair XD

But if you know the mother, and isn´t her first litter, you can pick them early, the baby that appears in my video is one day old ^^

you must be carefully because they can fight suddenly, the boy will try to have sex with her but... if she is younger or she isnt´s on heat... they will fight.

You must really know the mother, and be sure than she never will retire them.You must disinfect your hands with (medicinal) alcohol before touching them.If you aren´t sure if her mother will retire them, you can wait some days, when hamster babys get 15 days old, you can touch them without problems.

You can touch them always and when you have the clean well hands, the mother knows you well (and your to her) and do not bother her constant. I have done it often and I have never had problems of rejections, know very well to my hamsters and when I can touch them and when not.
