I thought of a scenario where if I killed someone I'd feel pretty bad. As something like it has already happened to me. So say a neighbor has a seizure in the middle of the day and ends up walking in the wrong house. (Happened) So you take a gun and shoot them only to find the person unaware that they walked into the wrong house. I suppose you can MAKE it a race issue based on statistics, but of course black people are more likely to be victims than are white people, so they need guns to protect themselves more than most. It is impossible for cops to be everywhere and protect everyone even if they wanted to. If more of us would take responsibility for protecting ourselves we would need fewer cops; fewer cops to pick on us on slow days.

I thought of a scenario where if I killed someone I'd feel pretty bad. As something like it has already happened to me. So say a neighbor has a seizure in the middle of the day and ends up walking in the wrong house. (Happened) So you take a gun and shoot them only to find the person unaware that they walked into the wrong house. Believe me when it's a burglar I am for the castle doctrine but that incident makes me think twice about it. What about in a crisis situation when in need of dire help?

in us there are over 10 000 per year murdered with guns.....
in oz there are less than 100 murders by guns...

It's apple's and oranges. And that's not true. Aussies used to have guns the government confiscated them just like they did in the UK. There were a ton of sport shooters and hunting used to be real big. I have friends there.
