Bozzio is one of my all time favorites!

My dad took me to see this movie when I was in 7th grade. Totally changed my life!

He also took me to see Zappa live around the same time. I saw Vinnie Colaiuta once & Chad Wackerman a few times, but I never did see Terry Bozzio live.

Bozzio never did drugs, and neither did Zappa. Bozzio wasn't "replaced", he simply topped out and decided to do his own project. He thought his shoes would be hard to fill but there was this guy named Vinnie Colaiuta who could play an odd rhythm or two. Humbling experience for Bozzio but the best thing for his ego, since that's where music comes from anyway.

@shaanfahey hey man.... sorry to break the news to you, but Bozzio actually had a fairly rough time with drugs. Zappa was always hardcore against it, but Bozzio definitely had his bout. Pretty sure he's clean now, but he wasn't always.

@dockaiser On top of shaanfahey's response, the lineup for The Mothers Of Invention was constantly changing. Zappa disbanded the band several times. I believe this lineup, with Terry Bozzio, Tommy Mars and NY's Finest Crazy Persons to name a few, only performed with Zappa for this 2 night run in NY on Halloween.

I saw Guitar Center mentioned and just had to respond that Guitar Center is the most awful music store around today. They have idiot after idiot working the drum department in the Paramus NJ store. They get hired on commission and try to sell drum sets to you every time you walk in. Whenever I used to go in there to see what's new I was swamped by some teenage a-hole trying to sell me a foreign set. Get that fruit outta here dude! Guitar Center sucks!
