I love the duality of it. Serious scientists complete with smocks, safety glasses and clipboards, the 'slow-mo' of a serious educational documentary. The methods of a pair of visibly stiff science types combined with an experiment a 10 year old would do if he didn't fear death at the hands of an angry mum or dad is well, classic. Besides, all science can be likened to a 10 year old destroying dad's mobile in mum's blender out of pure curiosity. What would really happen?

Well, it's a play on the word 'splendid', meaning brilliant. The 'Splendit'(R) as seen in the clip apparantly is an inverted blender, which seems to create synthesizers out of thin air. It is obviously created by filming the device in a blender with a high speed camera and then playing the video in reverse. The entire show 'Time Warp', which I think is aired by discovery channel in Belgium, revolves around the same principle.

I believe you find the clips on youtube. Some guys put various materials e.g. cellphone in a blender and see if it'll blend.
