This song makes me want to be a cop and one day face a criminal who is almost exactly like me, then share that moment of peace like they do at the end. This and Shawshank are the only 2 movies that make me tear up!
@smittyvanbonjohnson Well that's a bizarre ambition you have. I can understand how this is theatrically romantic but anyway. Great movie and great scene and great soundtrack.
@MOTHMAN225 it's somewhat symbolic of death, but a comforting symbol. i also feel like without this and knowing heat, death, absolution, etc; one cannot enter manhood fully or adulthood, without this theme in their life.
this song should be in the dark knight rieses trailer along with points of auhority during the movie think about it fits well with the dark knight rieses which is out next year since it is the end of the chapter please nolan use this as the theme song for the dark knight riesesanybody agree that it fits for 2012 iam just seeing how it would come together to end a trilogy
i personally find the the remix used at the end of the movie way better thatn the original..... the booming sound was soo creepy though lol...the best version of the song is at the end of the movie without a doubt
i personally find the the remix used at the end of the movie way better thatn the original..... the booming sound was soo creepy though lol...the best version of the song is at the end of the movie without a doubt
omg my favourite film of all time with 2 of my favourite and greatest actors of all time with my favourite Moby song God Moving Over The Water as ending song with the best ending ever.
@Gillettecavalcade In this film Val is cool but he not that much good actor in many films i only liked him on Heat and Batman forever but that my view lol
@DavidB0325 completely agree about the fact that the film is perfect. love it. but i've asked myself the question why does robert de niro has to die in the end, i wanted him to get away with the money but then i thought maybe thats what makes the film so great, the reality aspect of it. a bit like the gladiator film where russell crowe dies is what makes the film memorable rather than any other film with a happy ending
@salfetka Same and well said about the memorable. i wanted Deniro to make it though but its perfect at the same time for the ending cause even though the ending is sad but its it shows true respect between Neil and Vincent cause even though they are 2 very different people. but they have lot in common and it's hard to have such a emotional satisfying perfect ending and Heat is one of the fewest films to have that type of ending. i seen Heat about 40 times and i never bored of it or the ending.
@vixinator1986 same i love the ending i cried at the ending. but what has burned my mind specially is when Neil bust down the door and smacks Waingro with the gun then says "look at me, LOOK at me" then Waingro looks the bang bang (2 in the chest) Waingro tried to breathe then BANG (too the head) then guitar while Neil walks away. that scene burned my mind everytime i see that scene i rewind it to see it again and again and again lol. I just love heat :D
along with this theme the image of deniro and pacino clasping hands as deniro slowly fades away with forever be etched into movie buffs memories for generations to come. The silent message that they are one, deniro can not exist with out pacino and pacino can not exist with out deniro. One loves the thrill of the chase, the other the thrill of being chased, classic.

You do what you do best i do what i do best!!! Both live by a different code but ultimately in an ironic sort of way have a mutual respect for one another. Love this film. Pefection!!
Michael Mann is the Man! Amazing director. If you liked Heat, you should see "Collateral", it's not as good but, you'll find what you love about Heat.
@ghune Collateral does have a few elements from Heat most notably they turn the city into a character. And 2 great main leads but Pacino & De Niro are the more greater 2 than Foxx & Cruise were great but Heat just has it all. Spot on mate.
this film was 100% genius, perfectly directed, beautifully acted, loved the scene when neil walked away from his woman near the end knowing he would never see her again, the hole film was a 1 off, never again will we have a crime drama this good.
maybe the best action movie I've ever seen..........My fav. scenes... 1) pacino chasing deniro on the freeway at night with that great music....2) shooting taking place on the street right after the robbery. Awesome sequences.....3) Airport scenes in the final part.
I think my fav part in this movie is when the two of them sit down and have that convo right before shit hits the fan and the last thing al says is "IF ITS BETWEEN YOU, AND SOME POOR BASTARD WHO'S WIFE YOUR GONNA TURN A WIDOW?, BROTHA, YOUR GOING DOWN . it was a real no bullshit no nonsence scene
I remember watching this as a young kid.. I always wanted to be like DeNiro's character, just because he occurs to be an miscomprehend good fella later turned in a 'bad guy'. I never wanted to accept the fact why he did die at the end as a kid.
Watching this movie later in my 'criminal behaviour' high school years, I finally got the message.. Crime doesn't pay (So don't turn into a criminal if you got a good heart).. & Jealousy is a bitch..
@roysooners Yes indeed, dying slowly from the shoot-out at the end.. That plot always fascinated me: they shook hands, because it was THEIR 'fair' fight.. If that only could be in reality, there would be more honour in this world..
Heat is my favurite movie ever and Elliot Goldenthal is my fave composer ever. :) Loved Heat since I rented it out on VHS (aaah the good old days) back in 1996. :D
if I'm there and I gotta put you away I won't like it.
But, I tell you if it's between you and some poor bastard whose wife
you're gonna turn into a widow, brother...you are going down.'
Now listen, I think I'm just gonna watch this movie today's night for the 10th time but, I tell you if it's between Heat and some poor movie who you're gonna watch, brother...you are going down!
Thank you!!! The version on the OST CD has the original Moby version - it doesnt have the deep "booming" sounds or the crescendo after 1.15 ... thank you!!
'Heat' is masterpiece of the 90's - interesting storyline, fantastic acting. Al Pacino is awesome but Robert De Niro made this film - phenomenal acting. Val Kilmer, Tom Sizemore, Diane Venora, Ted Levine were great too plus after this movie I became a huge fan of Ashley Judd and Amy Brenneman!
Heat is in my top 10 most favorite Heist films along with The Real McCoy, Heartbreakers, The Thomas Crown Affair, Entrapment, Confidence, Scorched, The Italian Job, Ronin
I have to agree, best movie ever! The end scene was probably one of the most powerful motion pictures moments...the whole idea of someone having everything and losing it all in a gamble to avenge a friend.
i just watched this film and omg !!!!! it was amazing and every time i hear this song i actually cry because it such a beautiful peach and amazing actors !!!!! one of the best films i have ever watched !!!!! love it so so so so so so so much !!!!!!! best £5 i ever spent lol x
Is it me, or is this score not on the soundtrack? Its not the same as Moby's God Moving Over the Face of The Water, and I really like this arrangement. Where to buy?
Heat has the 3rd best ending to any movie i've ever seen :O i love Heat. great performances by everyone particularly Pacino, De Niro, Diane Venora, Val Kilmer and Ashley Judd.
I believe Heat has one of the most epic ending in movies history. Combination of the story and its idea, plus well-made music remind me of Dark knight as well. I got the same chills all over my spine.
what a fantastic piece of music this is, to go with a great film from the 90 s, soceity today is fucked up, in every each way, i miss the past, it was such a fantastic time to grow up in, listening to this reminds me of great times
This is one of the greatest movie ever made back in 1995, it brings classic memories went i was more younger. :( i got this dvd n its brilliant as heck. this movie is almost like real life not just some 80s action movie with gunblazing, its almost like real criminals vs la cops u know wat i mean, u dont hear decent music like these now days in every ending films, its all about disgusting rap music crap.
@cobra17899 by the way i miss the 90's so much greatest memories in my life growing up..god WTF HAPPENED TO THIS PLANET,,makes me not care if i live or die..cause the greatest time of my life is over
@Leg3ndKilla687 I know, dude. Goodfellas, Casino, A Bronx Tale, Heat, Scarface (80's, I know), the God Father (70's). All the good classic movies are gone. Nowadays there may come the occasional good movie, but there will never be any more classics.
My fav movie of all times...must have watched it 20 times by now and have to hold back tears every time at the end...one thing i regreat the most is that i didnt get a chance to see it in theatres...what are the chances for rerelease? Slim to none :(
What a film, pure class, nothing like this will ever be created ever again, they tried, they failed, and the De niro,Pacino scene having coffee was the greatest ever film moment, amazing.
This part of this song is not on moby album !!!!

I was great movies like this - hell, great actors like this - were still around. I'm sick of these new generation of CGI and animation movies.

@Leg3ndKilla687 I know, dude. Goodfellas, Casino, A Bronx Tale, Heat, Scarface (80's, I know), the God Father (70's). All the good classic movies are gone. Nowadays there may come the occasional good movie, but there will never be any more classics.
