  • beautiful.

  • Stupid Niggers shit!!!!!!!!

  • was that a silent warrior member in the clip?Looks like theres some fma and silat too.Like Bruce said "absorb what is useful"

  • so did this style came from prison

  • @MrTaylorreaves no the style doesn't come from prison. but the environment in prison changed the style. had an effect on those that learned it there, over those who learned on the block.

    peace

  • First of all, fuck 1Blkkato, racist little bitch. Second, any fighting style or method can be made deadly by the right person, but if you don't train in eastern systems that teach chi cultivation and control you still get can get hurt really easy. If you hard train your body by punching hard surfaces, speed striking, with breathing and meditation you can make your body break rock and withstand deadly impacts so that no matter what they do, you will just break what they block or attack with.

  • It is not the same when your actually on combat

  • i wana train under these guys. this is new methods i wasnt taught n the ability to learn new techniques just gets me excited!!!! all i wana do is train train TRAIN!!!!!!!

  • @hotep900 MEssage us your contact information and we will get you some things to get you started. Let us know what your fitness background is as well.

  • wat 2pac song is dat!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @FATsnookie starin' at the world through my rearview

  • Just my opinion but I think I may have a few points of contention here. First, fighting is not about technique, that is a falsehood purpetrated by every wanna be martial arts guru on the planet. Second, 52 is still counter to the counter, and really nothing new. Third, videos of prison violence, do not show any attempt at any kind of martial art at all what so ever. It's stab the guy, hit him in the back, whatever works, but I do not see any kind of training in those videos. Response?

  • @GBlues1 fighting if meant to struggle than you're correct however if you're talking method then you'll need to understand a few things. 52 is nothing new correct as for prison 52 rep grew in prison and not the knowledge. most cats learned before they went to jail. and agression is just that no skill needed however to survive that over time you have to learn something. Peace

  • @FarisiDaniel Well, how does that learning something jive with the stuff you see on youtube all the time? Most of the guys talking about 52 are guys that are talking about it coming from jail, and or prison. At least that is what I see on youtube. I mean it looks cool, but how far will looking cool get you? FOr that matter, if it did come out of the prison system, then why don't you see the give and take of a sparring match in prison riot videos, or of two inmates fighting?

  • @GBlues1 I mean it just seems to me that, it's usually one person doing the violence and one person getting done. And quite honestly it doesn't take any training to walk up and stab someone to death, it only takes knowing that it can be done. I don't know if that makes sense or if I'm coming off the wrong way, but I'm curious, and wanting to understand what exactly that this is, and where it comes from, and getting the truth about it. First time I've ever heard of 52blocks, you know.

  • @GBlues1 you should watch our documentry on it Changing the Guard lots of insights in that one

  • just watching this older video gets me hype! lets u remember to keep it tight and not show off 2 much in a fight. quick and pretty beatdown!! niiice! back 2 basics! more practice when i get to the house lata. lol!

  • 52 created???? So, it wasn't founded by "Glass Man" in NYC ? I have been around the 52 since 1980; and everyone I know points the "Glass" as the founder. I have even spoken to him on several occasions and it appears to me that he did create the 52 (as a hodgepodge) from the best techs available at the time.

CORRECT ME IF I AM WRONG

    R.I.P "LB"

He was the best I've ever seen with the 52 in action. A one man army !

  • @ReneFrom150 It wasn't created By Glass Man, he was just one in line with many that learned the 52. Him being good is a credit to his practice of doing the art. as for his bag of tricks each man at some point put the art to use in the way that fits them best. the more you know the bigger the bag. in the end use only what works with out needing a label for it.

Not Wrong just needed more info Peace

  • all of the old dudes are in good shape i bet they will knock on these sleeping catz out

  • actually defendu is freestyle since real fighting is freestyle. after all, who goes in their head thinking what they're gonna do next? absurd don't you think.

  • @silversification real fighting is based on techniques, which are based on the use of the body which we can study thus have a way to deal with an attack. no one attacks without purpose or without method, so your response will be the same to be successful. so it's not what comes next but what is the response, and not reaction peace

  • The gods have been at work..... Haha.. come on.

  • actually, there is another american martial art called defendu developed for the o.s.s. back in w.w.2. which the nazis used to call "a gangster style." because the idea was to stay and kill and not to try and get away. not too many people know about it.

  • @silversification ww2 combatives were fairbrain tactic taught as self-defense which included judo and jujitsu techniques. . if it wer based on free style wrestling or catch I would agree with you. peace

  • looks very interesting. wish i can learn some

  • so what happens when someone that does kickboxing cops your legs out? or is this style of fighting like boxing and not reali ment for the street?not saying that this couldent work but i would reali like to see this work in a real fight aye.you guys should try and bring out real fights to show that it does work.

  • @Disco123Disco 52 Blocks was invented in NY Rikers Island. It's all about street fighting. you're supposed to block/grab kicks I believe.

  • @samualmonte 52 as in name came from up North, gained fame in Rikers, as for the street that is where most of the 60's and 70 bruh earned their rep. Have to know the game to get the fame for it. As for real fights you have have someone willing ot fight otherwise you can't do it. still can beat them up just not in 52 style or form

    peace

  • that nigga bagz is ill i done seen this nigga beat down 4 niggaz at one time straight fly with them hands you feel me

  • My brother peace and blessings to your movement and may a merciful God continue to strenghten you guys and order your steps as you keep this martial science going.

  • @relentlesslion4848 Indeed thank you for the support it gives up the purpose to drive on' knowing that our community is behind us pushing , and some cases kicking us LOL...

  • Stay strong my brothers and keep training I remember we use to 52 back in the early to mid 70s in Brooklyn. We would see who could knock off the others hat or just stay toe to toe and throw to the body. There was a sweet sound when you landed a body shot and your opponent acted like he did not get hit then a few seconds later he would drop to his knees and claim you hit him in the groin, solar plexus shot got him. Peace.

  • @relentlesslion4848 We still do that in our camps we touch the body, blow for blow toe to toe, small square no movement. body blows are a great way to build manhood

    peace

  • Will all of you punk ass wanna be white boy internet fighters shut the the fuck up! Stop trying to compare real street no holds bared combat fighting to mma. You never here mma guys talk shit only bitch ass punks on the internet. MMA is popular because finally you get to see some white boys kick a little ass & its not fake like wrestling. I have been training in JKD for years, while I was in the Army in 1985 a fellow soilder was from Harlem. He knew Jailhouse & was very hard to fight.

  • @1Blkkato joe rogan talks shit

  • Farisidaniel ,,TELL ME BRUTHA,,why are these youngbloods so quick to discredit thier own family of black kings and queens?? TELL ME!! WHY?!?....WHY?? Even Young Shiela called out Burly....why..why Farisidaniel..why?

  • @kneeknott Peace Bruh, the journey back to greatness can only be achieved when we learn to respect our wisdom. Real men stand on the square and hold light to each element. integrity,Merit, Character, and Responsibility. in other words truth no hustle, burley has done well, as we have, but we still have a long way to go before our own can see us as they wish to be, unless they wish to be dog shit, then I can't help them peace

  • nigger fu...

  • Whats the name of the song they use in this vid ?

  • u guys r awesome.

  • a blocking system that makes you put your hands in front of your eyes simply fails. an opponent that knows what he is doing only needs those 1-2 seconds to hurt you badly...

  • @yogioto52 blocking works. but first you have to simply know how to fight. then iy becomes a plus added to you skills. i've used it & put cats on their asses when adding boxing,Akido. in the 80's i saw a cat from brooklyn beat this dude down doing 52 looking at rhe guys shadow on the side walk.he never looked at the dude once.i practiced that for 10 years.I used "the shadow" technique & embarrassed a big mouth buddy of mine lol N the 80's slap boxing was huge.52 was like Kungfu in the Hood.lol

  • 52 Blocks vs Stato Fist, a documentary on the history 52 Blocks in America, email danielmarks52@yahoo(dot)com to get a free viewer password to watch it online.

  • @FarisiDaniel i just sent you an email. I hope that password is still active.

    Cool vid. Thanks for sharing.

  • @Rtv03 thank you

  • american capoeira

  • nope we call it 52 but yes same family common mother styles

    peace

  • WOW!! Old school memories. I remember in 81-82 in the Bronx if you didnt no your 52's you had no wins!! I learned how to do the 52's in 4th grade. My older brother was Zulu Chapter 5. I never Lost a fight after that. Broke a few knuckles though.

  • Haha I goofed around once and practiced my Wing Chun hands to Hip hop, a total accident, MAN-WHAT a revelation!

Not only did I look like I was the sh*t--I felt like I was!!! My friends were like "WTF is this dude on? He's in a zone".

I really appreciate you posting this Farisi. Much Respect to you.

  • thank you

    peace

  • 3:31 3:31 3:31 3:31 3:31 3:31

Something those with NO rhythm will never understand. That is what the Orientals try to explain when they talk about finding your own center of being. AND if anyone watches closely--you'll find them beatin the hell outta some Drums in ceremony. So yeah it works....

    FIVE STARS!!!

  • the drum is key

  • 'Asians', bro, Asians...but you are very right about rhythm. We are only rhythm. Off topic science fact; melanin reacts to sound, so the more spread out your melanin/more absorption, then the more you 'resonate'...

  • The JOE TYSON DVD from Constellation available today. This ground breaking DVD teaches the unique boxing styles used by two of the most vicious and innovative boxers of all time. Innovate your fight game.

  • i be doin this at home i got so comfortable in my movements i started dance to the music i hit the bag to. i geuss we as black people got the same gifts. we just are asleep to them. melanin binds with music

  • @FLpolo skillfully sed bro ... tell me the difference between a sound wave and a strand of dna???

  • Where can i buy this??

  • knife and stick, im a life long fma man, 4 generations in fact. the last comment about dissin your style etc..un necessary. there is a way to ask for the mutual sharing of knowledge which we called kokua in hawaii. but, to say i wanna test your style, see it proven in real time combat, and then backpeddle saying doing be actin like im dissing your style and acting thug is asking for hostility. you seem intelligent according to your page, so lets present ourselves as such.

  • And by the way, dont act like im "dissing" your style. Im kind of intrigued by it. No need to be a stereo-type and start act all thug on me. But contact me maybe we can show each other a thing or 2. =)

  • I would like to see it proven in real time combat.

  • ok, where should we do this so that we dont end up in Jail... Real time LOL

  • Ever come to Detroit? I would love to test my system against yours, that's how we truly learn.

  • I would like to try it out to, I'm from Texas.

  • @KnifeAndStick52 blocking works. first you have to simply know how to fight. then it becomes a plus added to your skills. i've used it & put cats on their asses when adding boxing,Akido.in the 80's i saw a cat from brooklyn beat this dude down doing 52 looking at rhe guys shadow on the side walk.he never looked at the dude once.i practiced that for 10 years.I used "the shadow" technique & embarrassed a big mouth buddy of mine lol N the 80's slap boxing was huge.52 was like Kungfu in the Hood.lol

  • @TheSonsOfLight indeed fam peace

  • Comment removed

  • @KnifeAndStick what do you mean by real time combat?

  • and moves, theres no centerline for you to take control of when you movin on the angles. and pivoting not standing in a static pak sao stance. now to be fair, it plays well with wing chun, just was not built with western mentality in mind.

  • for the grandn chance. fa real man you talking bout street realism then talkin bout wing chun in the next sentence. come on, i have practiced wing chun and have respect for it as an "art". but when has wing chun ever displayed its deadly effectiveness in street or cage? in the west anyway? strong side forward, southpaw lead to southpaw lead, all the weight in the back foot? it dont exist! at least 52 got a fluid boxing basis and foundation in western realism. the jab retracts son, feints..

  • The Best Hands for MMA 52 Blocks instructional DVD, the first, and only instructional dvd on how to fight with 52 available today at 52blocks . tv

  • i wanna see them fight ! not talk

  • Great song in the background. What is it?

  • Absolute respect.

    Greetings from greece.

  • that's peace

  • this is were our black culture&history is rooted in our music, in our dance form and our singing (rapwisdom) i love this video it keeps it real like those old hot summer days back in the 60s when everything was peace, and about respect and honor.hopefully the52 can bring some of it back"save the babys"peace*7)

  • lmao freeze at 15 seconds, good video though

  • this looks awesome..where can i learn this? like are there any videos? i do mma..i wanna fuse this into my mma.. also..what song is this?

  • Does anyone know where (besides online) i can find this documentary in Toronto?

  • I have a legit question? Can anyone tell me what the connection is between 52 blocks and Clarence 13x

I noticed that a lot of 52 practitioners are 7's

One very arrogant and hot-headed person by the name of Immr52 took offense to my question?

I am not a 7 and I dont agree with clarence 13x teachings.

One brother by the name Giant struck me as not being a 7

based on his name being Hassan Yasin.

If anyone can answer this question please post.

  • wich was first the 52 or breakdance i can understand :S

  • When are your instructional DVDs coming out with Big K? Thanks

  • where do you train?

  • any 52 practitioners in the state of delaware?

    lets build.

    holla at me

  • Where could I see some 52 sparring? I would like to observe it in use. Thank you.Respect

  • Ok. I like capoeira. I like bboyin. I used to do both. And 52 blocks looks cool at times....but it's a sad pathetic attempt at forming a martial art system, if one can even call it that.

  • A JKD student should have a much more open mind about any and all combat systems. Nuff Said. Do you think Bruce would have looked at the 52 and called it Bullshit? I highly doubt it.

  • Yes. You know why? Cuz it IS bullshit. In addition to open-mindness, Bruce also stressed effectiveness and practicality. 53 blocks has absolutely none of those two.

  • 53 ? lol I see your not very observant LOL

  • I mean 52, you silly goose. tee hee. I'm gonna go frolick naked in the fields now. PayCe!

  • lol

  • Through my own training, on my own outside of my martial arts classes, this is when I did most my own discoveries and soul searching. After hours upon hours of training my footwork and heavy bag work, I found that rythem, timing and distance control are the TRUE keys to fighting, and in many aspect of your everyday life. So my advice to everyone is to do your homework and train on your own and spend 10 to 15min meditating and internalize.

Im not a 52 student, Im a JKD student.

    Train Smart.

  • Man im so f...ing tired of sofa warriors talking trash about things they know nothing about I have a 6th degree in Karate do from japan a 2nd in jiu-jitsu and am now studing kuntao/salat I have been in martial arts for 25+ yrs and have been teaching for 7, I learned 52blocks from my uncle and must admit when it came down to it and my life was on the line I used 52blocks and what do you know im still alive! I will only teach it to my top students its that affective so please couch ninjas shut up!

  • check the new vid(enter the science of 52 blocks!

  • im confused is 52 blocks blocking everything someone throws at them?

  • I'm sorry..but there is no way this would work in a REAL fight.

  • It works kid in a straight up street fight...i first heard of it up state in NY...a lot of these dudes have been in the pen...and have got it in...and I have seen people use this method first hand...watch the videos you will become a believer

  • fuck...niggers are so fucking dumb people... amazing...

  • xxTheBeyondWithin, yeah i bet those "dumb" "niggers" would fuck u up!

  • counterfeit your a fuckin idiot shuit the fuck up because you dont know what the hell your talking about. Good name for you because you are definitely counterfeit. Two words Rashad Evans. You asshole.

  • Xcllnt point, bro. To post that no 1 in MMA knws anythng about this form on a video of an undefeatd MMA fightr talkng about the very form's merits isnt vry sharp.

  • ...where I'm from, playing Phil Collins during your martial art video constitutes a major loss of street cred.

  • In it's defense, it is the one *good* Phil Collins song. At least it isn't "suisudio".

  • nice

  • do you take from wing chun , boxing and other arts . do you also do grappling , keep it up anything to stay out of trouble and be postive, peace

  • Yo, I'm Buying both 52 blocks DVD's Im just lettin u guys know Your fuckin Sick with it

  • 52 is crazy homie i be trying to copy what ya be doing it aint the same though but is cool to learn new shit keep it up.

  • Anyone can make their own style. That is why Freestyle Martial Arts is called freestyle. It works for me but I do not worry since I haven't been in a fight. If I would ever face danger that is why I have two legs to walk away. Walk Away... and some sticks and stones in the way. That is if I have to face some pathetic stubborn more than one dangers, in the same setting. Other than that I already have some BJJ and Aikido training.

  • It's called free-style, not make up your own style, at least you sound humble and normal, important attributes in todays violent world@!!!!

  • that's pathetic it looks like really bad JKD

  • thats funny cause jkd is really bad wing chun?

  • Don't get fooled about 52 blocks.. Tired of having that jaw wired up every 6 months? Then learn how to use 52 blocks!! 52 blocks covers every form of fighting on the planet. It's the great grand father of all styles!

  • When you make claims that cant be substantiated you yourself are taking credibility away from 52. If you took a more inclusive out look on all styles as opposed to mine is better than yours, your hands might not look they way they do. Flailing and sloppy. I train muay thai primarily but cross train in evrything that makes me more complete in my arsenal. Embrace, filter and apply what works for you and leave what does'nt. (for rahmel aka Mmr52)

  • You see brother that's why there's no room 4 you 2 elevate because your level of comprehension is at an all time LOW! People who felt the wrath of my knuckle game alone thought the same way as you do (at 1st) now when all is said and done you wish you had skillz like the GOD. Every style of physical hand 2 hand combat came from 52 BLOCKS!Look how I move, you won't last 6 seconds with me!!!

  • 6 seconds is nothing for me. I train to fight 3 3 minute rounds of everything including takedown defense. You always sound winded in your sparring vids with no contact. Maybe your 40+ years are cathing up to you? We will see on sunday though. Peace "god"

  • wats goin on on sunday? everyones talking bout sunday :P lol anyways i totally agree with you with ur conversation with immr52

  • "It's the great grandfather of all styles!"

Such ignorant talk. Almost all cultures have some form of native fighting style.

Arrogance+ Ignorance= No Respect from others. All styles have something to contribute to combat. Combat is about skills (biomechanical efficiency, timing, strength, endurance, etc) not styles. Don't get caught up in the brainwashing.

  • I have found a guy whos developing a New American Martial Art as a counter to 52.

  • Word Im into martial arts period u need 2 be able 2 move 2 attack n defend regardless of wat style tho i dont dance some movement would improve ur felxiblity so u u r not so stiff 2 make ur movements more fluid

  • Mike can u be anymore simple minded. It is really very sad. Are u aware of the kind of strntgh dancers posses? Core strenghth, the strntgh that makes fighter so dangerous. Of course he is not saying just because you can dance you can fight, that is simple and stupid, but i guess it makes perfect sense then as to why you would think that is what he is saying. Ever hear of capoiera mike?

  • yes i have and it doesn't work against other styles like kenpo for instance.

  • so in your thinking if you can dance you can fight? i don't think so. besides this vid was titled that kimbo doesn't know 52, well kimbo doesn't need to know it apparently, cause he does just fine.

  • hey relax man and get some info before you start dissing. how do you think capoeira started?

  • show me a vid or pic of a guy tyson wouldnt fight?

im not sayin he invincable, but you better be on it, and just 52 defense alone would get you fucked up in a fight, and then somebody(bas rutten and tompkins) trained that ape. i dont care who you are, or what ya practice, that dude is bad news if ya fightin him. end of story.

  • what the hell does dancing have to do with martial arts? thought this vid was bout a fighting style not break dancing. stupid.

  • am in the arts my self an any art of fighting looks good when until you in a real battle

  • and 52 is not effective, and why would you put kimbo does not know 52. why would he give a shit.

some clown go defend against kimbo with 52. get fuckin dealt with. seriously.

  • did anybody watch the Mayweather-Hatton fight? Did anybody witnes how Mayweather stopped Hatton from clinching him by placing his elbow, or forearm, into Hatton's neck?

  • First off, this video isn't showing much 52 its showing the connection between the art and the culture. Secondly nothing the community has done has given the art away. There not gonna give away for free, it has to be earned. I recommend check it out, buy the DVD see what its all about, but stay tuned, there are some kats who are fighting in MMA and winning. This is a fact.

  • Ok, name some, and post a link to a video. That's why NOBODY in MMA has a clue what the fuck 52 blocks is.

  • why do u care about what they're doing, go to an mma page or some shit

  • continued...I really hope to learn just some of these techniques as its pretty obvious it would take years, at least a 3 to 5 stretch training hours a day to actually "master" this...I just hope I can use this to get it back, my manhood that it, my shoes are a lost cause I bet. thanks for any guidance.

  • dude if its ever more than 1 on 1 do a runner unless your packin

  • Sometimes it takes a good ass-kicking, to wake up and realize that this whole self-defense thing is more than just a game, it mean the difference between living and dying, street savy and knowing how to defend yourself in different circumstances means everything

  • learn more from what bruce lee taught that is the way of the intercepting fist. Look up Bruce lee training and his interviews in your tube and u will lean more than thay could teach you about fighting! And its all about teaching your self and knowing your weaknesses and working on them. To be like water. Put water in a glass and it becomes the glass, put it in a tea pot and it become the tea pot, it can flow and it can crash. be water my friend :)

  • "waters the softest stuff on earth but it can penetrate wall, be like an inch of water", dunno if thats a real bruce qoute but it sure sounds cool

  • actually its a ving tsun quote that denotes the technique of leaking and stealing.

  • thanks forthe info

  • WOW! This looks amazing! Where can i go about learning more? I am looking for a martial art to study for self defense and this seems perfect! A little back story, I was recently accosted in street by some local gang-bangers for no reason. I was attacked, savagely beaten and left shoe-less, reeking of alcohol (apparently the blow that KO'd me was from a 40oz) and most importantly, doubting my manhood...

  • This things happen, don't be doubting your manhood, it's time to be a warrior, your manhood is everything, self defense is everything!

  • on the street maybe it will work BIG MAYBE. in mma never.

  • Wow, I am a jiu jitsu practitioner and a huge boxing fan. What I just watched was fucking amazing. Looks like America's first martial art that evolved from the street like most real martial arts. I love elbow strikes so this is my next martial art conquest. Fucking amazing, you could take a guy's head off even with hand cuffs on.

  • Im practicing 52 blocks frome all the way out here in Puerto Rico..its very original and is very good in counter attacks..very good offensive and deffensive and u can mix it with diferrent styles..its true what the guy says at the vid..you gotta find your beat..

  • fighting style? All I've seen is some break-dancing with cats hitting backs here and there. Anyone know of any better videos to describe the art?

  • ...and yes 52 does have blade work. It is a combative system thats been tested on the battle-field and has paid its dues. Its not new either. The problem is most people guess and assume what 52 consists of without knowing true 52 or its history, but slowly but surely the truth will be known. Stay tuned.

  • 52 is like Philly Style? Wrong. 52 doesnt have any ground work, wrong again. Come to brooklyn and put your money where you mouth is. The problem is most think they have seen 52 but only saw someone who think they knew the real doing the real, but they were only copying what they saw or got taught a smidgen of it and not the whole. 52 is not like philly style and yes it has ground work and wall work. Depends on whose doing it and how much they know. Obviously you havent seen 52.

  • Do you think any guys on these forums have the salt to challange a trained 52 fighter MMA rules?

  • nothing about Kimbo here , some break dancing & Nice Djembe & conga work thats about it

  • Just discovered 52 blocks today by accident; im going to learn all i can about this style. This $hit is real! Please post more! P.S. Does anyone know where I can learn this $hit without going to prison?

  • also when you say 52 has no ground knowledge what does that mean? You can also say 52 doesn't have spinning kick knowledge. I could say if a 52 guy had to wrestle he would bite, pinch, ball squeeze and eye gouge himself silly. They are programed for sport as many BJJ guys are not programed for street. Different games my man.

  • Sorry I meant I've seen guys go the ground accidentially.

  • Miami, 52 is built for street fighting or surviving prison. BJJ is effective yes but when your dealing with multiple attackers its not a good option. I've seen go to the ground accidentially and get the shit stomped out of them. It wont work. Put any Gracie against 5 angry Bloods and that Gracie is trouble.

  • put any Blood against 5 angry Gracies and that Blood is in trouble. the point is if there are multiple attackers it doesn't matter if you are standing or on the ground... you will lose.

  • what does this have to do with kimbo by the way kimbo does know 52 but it will make him worser because he isnt that good at it

  • peace bro 1

  • yo whats hapinin brother wathin your videos more than a little farisi are you involved with the brothers from the video pardon my ignorense think i spelled that wrong

  • ah you spoke back was waiting for that how do i stay in contact ill be in miami for a minute but i come from queens bridge 10 st holla back

  • cant wait to get back to NY gotta make contact lets make music 1

  • You and the other guy with the instructional DVD are just talk, The Dude with the Real Talk is wide open I would kick the hell out of those ribs, I mean how can you call what he is doing a martial system, I would be embarressed to do the same system as him. Damn hat tricks

  • ive had knowledge of self since born born. i live

in miami and never heard of 52 can you drop some

knowledge on me about the history of 52. p.e.a.c.e

    miami360x yahoo com

  • any martial artist after training hard can easily

    dominate someone without training,almost regardless

of your style.52 blocks might be ok for standup but

how will it defend good wrestling or ju jitsu?why

dosnt anyone put it to the test and compete in any

respectable competitions?elbows have short range wich

puts you at a disadvange against a bigger stronger

fighter.ill pick muy thai anyday over 52

  • Fighting in cage and fighting in prisons is not the same, man. In the prison THERE WON'T be a referee there for you if the opponent make a foul (there are no fouls or rules in the prison). Now, I ask you: WHY DOESN'T ANY MMA FIGHTER GOES TO A PRISON AND PUT IT TO THE TEST IN PRISONS? Muay thai will not help you with more than one DANGEROUS opponent (not "any" opponent, but a violent criminal) or with one with a weapon, like in prisons.

  • so whats a 52 block guy going to block a knife

with?his elbow?if you have no ground skills

when a wrestler has you on your back you will

be eating the elbows and god forbid a bjj

guy has you on the floor either your going to

sleep or somethings getting broken.thai boxing

is widely accepted as the most effective stand up

style of fighting.who thinks 52 is the best?

ray ray that slangs crack on the corner?

  • I NEVER said 52 was the best, belive me, I don't even know much of this style. All I'm saying is that as fas as I know, 52 was made for fighting in prisons and not for fighting in vale-tudo competitions. And to be honest I don't know with what a 52 guy is going to block a knife, but I am sure they must have their own technique for that.

  • thats prteey funny, but how many guys are gonna be doing all tha bjj on the streets with broken glass and conrete, also witht the possibiltty of multiple attackers? you show me a guy doin bjj in that element and we'll see the ambulance pickin that same guy up.

    Peace

  • you have to anylize each situation accordingly

for multiple attackers its always best to stay

on your feet.i dont know about on broken glass

but bjj works on concrete.bjj usually dosnt teach

good stand up.but 52 dosnt have any ground

knowledge and unless your up against some high

school kids you shouldnt go around thinking 52

is going to save you either

  • you forgot to mention the molten lava

  • pardon my typos

  • Why the fuck would a MMA fighter want to go to a prison with a bunch of HIV infected convicts? With as popular as MMA is now, you'd think these "52 blocks" guys would be dying to make some cash and get some respect fighting, but guess what? NOBODY even knows what the fuck it is.

I work in a prison, and see all sorts of guys thinking they know how to fight and shit. But they really don't know shit about training, or fighting. If this bullshit is useful, I suppose you think Capoeira is too.

  • You make absolutely no sense. So you're saying people in prison no nothing about fighting ? I suppose people who work in finance no nothing about money and surgeons no nothing about surgery too huh? For the record I study boxing Sambo and MMA and I use somw basic 52 I learned in the streets and it works well when you combine it well.

  • What the fuck does being a convict have to do with knowing how to fight? Being a drug addict piece of shit who robs and assaults people in GANGS and/or with weapons means jack shit.

You don't get it, I see thousands of fuckers every day who think they're hard, who "learned" how to fight in the street or in prison, who really don't even know how to use proper body mechanics.

I am hardly going to pay much attention to some dude in a wife beater with a slight case of bitch tits anyway.

  • Because like everything else in life experience is the best teacher. I don't care if you never trained a day in your life. When you're in a situation where you have to fight all of the time you will either adapt or buckle. And all fighting systems come from "the streets" aka the field. People got tired of getting their asses kicked so they came up with ways to avoid it. . In real life half of what you learned in a dojo is forgotten after the first punch and that's where experience is key.

  • I don't disagree that TECHINIQUES are forgotten most times in a real fight. The principles that a good instructor teaches will be reinforced to the point of becoming automatic though. If someone throws a punch at me, I'm not thinking of doing the technique five swords, or whatever someone might learn, but I automatically use the principles and concepts that have been trained for years. That's opposed to these guys who train with bad economy of motion, these wide looping useless punches...

  • no concept of backup mass, blocking within an outer rim, or any principles of physics when they're training. They're enforcing bad habbits, which might be fine when you go up against some untrained slob, but against someone experienced that's not going to fly.

I agree that experience is required to become a competant fighter. I train to fight. I've flown to Ireland, Jersey Island, Las Vegas, along with going up the east coast to compete. I know what it's like to have someone trying to hurt me

  • and because of that experience, the times when I have been in real fights outside of the ring, I have had no problem at all with them. I've had a crowbar swung at me, I've had someone with a shank try and slice me, I've been in scuffles with violent inmates, and they were nothing for me. Not saying I'm that amazing of a fighter, I've never made it big yet,
