Funny you should say that, I too have not heard it for almost 40 years, my husband, now passed on, used to listen to this all the name plus Tangerine Dream!! Didn't really understand that but used to love Nancy and Lee.

victoria, from thetext, this cannot really be sung more intensly. He said "My heart is cold." Besides, Lee wrote this song, so he should know best. For me, there can't be a better version. Does anyone hear the Native American sequence in the background ?

@magnumruthlesskilla For the studio version by Einstürzende Neubauten (Blixa on vocals), replace "v=QTeeNb9G7Is" with "v=5KEguEUOsTI". There are some live versions kicking around on YouTube, too, but the vocal quality on them seems to be all over the place.
If you're a devotee of the original, be forewarned: EN is a german industrial techno group who've inspired the likes of NiN and Henry Rollins, but if you can get past that then their rendition of the song is very sincere, in my opinion.

I think Nubauten stayed fairly true to the song. Nancy Sinatra has a lovely voice.

Fantastic reminds me of being a child and seeing the record cover thinking Nancy was the most beautiful woman I had seen. The songs bring back great memories - thanks for posting this.
