@FaithfulMinistries I have already stated it in plain terms. Some do not understand it becase they keep certain denominational teachings that hold to salvation occurring when one speaks in tongues which is wrong. The first baptism does not mean you do not have the Holy Spirit. Many seem to not understand it because they have other ideas they read into the Scripture. At salvation you have the Holy Spirit in your life, but you still need to receive Him to overflowing in the baptism in the Spirit.
@BrotherRyanHicks Amen bro, I try to tell people the very same thing, and many are confused, but it is exactly as you say. Thank you for posting these 3 videos brother Ryan, me and my wife Nancy are about to settle back after our dinner and watch all 3, and I am mostly looking forward to your testimony, for I love testimonies. I love you bro
@workerforGod Thank you for your kind and edifying words brother! I pray that the videos are a blessing to you. Have a blessed meal! I love you too brother Marc.
@VesselsofTruth Yes, but the baptism of the Holy Ghost is not the same as the baptism by Jesus into the Holy Spirit which this video is talking about. When one is baptized into the body of Christ by the Holy Spirit they are saved. Jesus baptizes us in the Holy Spirit for power to witness.
@BrotherRyanHicks i ask so are you saying the baptism of the holy spirit is NOT THE BORN AGAIN EXPEREINCE? you say the baptism of HOLY GHOST is NOT the same as baptism by JESUS into the holy spirit.. so i ask in acts 8 10 19 in those chapters is that baptism of holy ghost or baptism by Jesus into the holy spirit.. ITS THE SAME THING IN MY VIEW.. I WOULD LOVE TO DISCUSS THIS.. we both beleive tongues is evidence of RECIEVING THE SPIRIT.. but why do you not beleive its THE BAPTISM OF HOLY GHOST
13 For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit.
This baptism is salvation and at this point we are "made to drink into one Spirit." We then can be baptized by Jesus into the Holy Spirit for power (not salvation). [continued...]
@BrotherRyanHicks so your saying we recieve holy ghost but baptism in holy ghost is separate.. now listen how that sounds.. you recieve holy ghost to be into the body, BUT you have not recieved power yet thats something separate.. DO YOU HEAR THAT.. you can recieve holy ghost but NOT POWER.. THATS A SECON THING.. thats DENYING THE POWER THEREOF. its like saying YOU RECIEVED GOD (SPIRIT), but still havent recieved POWER.. ITS ALL ONE THING.. when you recieve H.S you recieve power, salvation, etc
@BrothaMinister You are just speculating and giving no Scripture. I have shown from plain Scriptures the different roles and different baptisms. You are confusing two different experiences into one with no Scripture to back up such a teaching.
Also, men can be filled and then refilled with the Spirit.
31 And when they had prayed, the place was shaken where they were assembled together; and they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and they spake the word of God with boldness.
@BrothaMinister The Holy Ghost baptizes us into the body of Christ. Jesus baptizes with the Holy Ghost. The first is for salvation, the later is for power to witness as Jesus plainly stated in Acts 1:8. I never said when one is saved that they do not receive a measure of power, rather that they have not received the power and giftings of God that come with the baptism in the Holy Spirit. Pray and ask the Lord for wisdom and He will show you the plain teaching from the Scripture. God bless.
@BrotherRyanHicks IF the baptizm of holy spirit is WHEN we are baptized into the body then that means SALVATION IS NOT UNTIL WE HAVE BEEN BAPTIZED WITH THE HOLY GHOST.. so therefore.. JESUS BAPTIZES WITH THE HOLY GHOST= what he said was ACTS 1:8,, its not a separation... so i pray you see HOW SIMPLE AND PLAIN THAT TEACHING IS... its like your saying what im saying but you dont want to say that THE BAPTIZM OF HOLY GHOST IS (WHEN YOU GET SAVED)..
@BrothaMinister Here are the two baptisms that I am talking about:
1. The baptism OF the Holy Spirit - This is where the Holy Spirit baptizes us into the body of Christ. The Holy Spirit is the baptizer here and this is for salvation.
2. The baptism IN the Holy Spirit. This is where Jesus is the baptizer and baptizes us into the Holy Spirit for power.
You have merged them into the same event but they are plainly separate with two different Baptizers. Please see the previous Scriptures I gave.
@BrothaMinister [...continued] The baptism IN the Holy Spirit is where the Lord Jesus baptizes us into the Holy Spirit for power.
Mark 1:8
8 I indeed have baptized you with water: but he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost.
This is the baptism in which one of the initial evidences is speaking in tongues. This is not for salvation, but for power, as Jesus explained, "But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me..." (Acts 1:8).
@fractalfires . So, what is the evidence of the baptism of the Holy Ghost? Is it tongues or is it love? If it is love, what is the evidence of that love? (There are so many kinds of love are there.)
Hello' BrotherRyanHicks, I speak in holy tongues but I was taught that it is only a gift from the Almighty God, used to edify and heal the Church, from the Holy Bible KJV 1Cr 12:10 & 1Cr 12:28 To another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to another discerning of spirits; to another [divers] kinds of tongues; to another the interpretation of tongues. I have never been taught that speaking in holy tongues is evidence of being Baptized in the Holy Spirit until watching this video, amen.
@FeliciaTube42 The difference is where it is in operation. In the church it is good to speak in tongues only if it has an interpretation so that the church can be edified. But in private you can be edified by praying in the Spirit or praying in other tongues (1 Corinthians 14:4, 15). May the Lord bless you richly!
The assumption that the gifts of the Holy Spirit have ceased implies that the power promised to beleivers from the Comforter/Holy Spirit is no longer needed if that was the case then why Jesus makes such a point of telling the disciples he was leaving so that the comforter would come?
A few thoughts..Why would God take away the gifts of the Holy Ghost when the scripture says that in the last days he would pour out his spirit on all flesh? The Bible says in Mark 16:17 that speaking in tongues is a sign that would follow believers and according to 1 corinthians 14:21-22 tongues are meant for sign to unbelievers. Therefore, if the church still has the ministry of reconciliation from our Father why would God eliminate a sign that was meant to help unbelievers come to know Him?
@Arourasb1 Amen. The saddest thing is that those that tend to believe the most against the Holy Spirit and His gifts also do not believe the Bible in which they say replaced the gifts of the Spirit. Is it any surprise that the most antinomian teachers are those that also deny the gifts of the Spirit? I heard one cessationist saying that you cannot repent and to try to repent is sinful and to be avoided! Anyone that gets the sin issue confused and excuses sin cannot be trusted in any other area.
@fractalfires True. Though the early church held to all the spiritual gifts in one way or another. In some cases they actually held that those that believed the gifts of the Spirit ceased were heretics and that the only thing that would cause the gifts to cease was the coming of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ (See Disputations of Archelaus and Manes, 320 AD). Origen said the gifts were diminishing, but were found in those so dedicated to our Lord and holiness. Holiness was always central!
I have seen the gifts of the spirit at work in the church (ie speaking in tongues with interpretation, etc). All of the gifts of the spirit still function today.
17And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; Mark 16:17
@Arourasb1 It is amazing to see people say that the Bible replaced the gifts of the Spirit, but then why does the Scripture include instructions on the gifts of the Spirit and not one verse saying they will end when the Bible is complete? Only one verse talks about that when Jesus comes will the gifts of the Spirit no longer be needed. For now they are all needed as much as they were in the early church. The Scriptures and church history testify against those that deny the Spirit & His gifts.
@fractalfires The nonsense I have personally witnessed in charismatic churches is sad. These people had all these "experiences" with God and yet got up still dead in sins and trespasses. What good is an experience with the Almighty Creator of heaven and earth if you leave the same sinful rebel? Sin is and always will be the major problem in most churches, and if that is never dealt with then that church is useless. God give us more laborers that will preach your truth about holiness & your love!
@fractalfires Actually most cessationists are ruled by their emotions as well, because they sin every day and cannot stop giving into their feelings and desires. This is where the true problems come in. We need people full of the Spirit and grace who are not moved by their feelings. Nothing I have taught is close to the "irresistible impulse" you are implying. May the Lord Jesus Christ continue to bless you!
@fractalfires I have no idea what kind of "Pentecostal" church you came out of, but the Pentecostal holiness brethren I know do not feel "impulses" to speak in tongues or things of that nature. You may be talking about people who are led by their emotions, but that could just as easily apply to those that are against the gifts of the Spirit like yourself IF they are ruled by their emotions. The real issue is one of holiness and love for God and our fellow man. We should not be led by feelings.
@fractalfires Brother, I was never a Pentacostal, I have only attended their services, I believe that you misunderstand my position when I say "cessationist;" I believe that God does not use the sign gifts in the church any longer because the connon of Scripture has been closed and therefore, the Scriptures are His sign, His witness to the world. That is an orthodox and Biblical position.
@james3v6 That is not the Biblical position since the Scripture speaks nothing of it. Also, the early church on up till about 400 AD practiced all the gifts of the Spirit. This is way after the cannon was closed and accepted. The Apostolic Constitutions in about 390 AD gave clear guidelines on not lifting one's self up because God had granted them spiritual gifts like raising the dead and speaking in tongues. It is a modern error to teach that spiritual gifts have ceased. God bless you richly.
@james3v6 This is your addition to the Scriptures. The problem with cessationism is that it claims to believe the Scripture is the "perfect" that ends prophecies, tongues, and knowledge, but then they have to add to the Scripture to come to that conclusion. It is unbiblical and actually I just read a quote today where someone in about 300AD called a cessationist a heretic. It was not the view of those in the early church and only in modern Reformed thinking has this become a major view.
@james3v6 The obvious question is have prophecies failed? There are many in the New Testament that are still unfullfilled and will be fulfilled. Has knowledge vanished away? No. If you believe the Scriptures are the perfect that will come then why not believe what they actually say and not what you have been taught that they say? May the Lord bless you richly.
@fractalfires First of all brother, I am a cessationist. I spoke about the leading of the Holy Spirit to give the benefit of the doubt to our Pentacostal brethren. Second, if you know to do something right, good, or correct and you fail to do it, that is also sin.
Jas 4:17 Therefore to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin.
@james3v6 (Last Part) I agree that I shouldn't be teaching in the church per 1 Corinthians 14:34 but I know the Lord has used me in this way and that Acts 2:17-19 says that the Lord will pour out His Spirit on all flesh. I also do not know of any passage that says that only certain gifts of the Holy Ghost are available to men and certain ones to women. Why would God give gifts of the Holy Ghost that believers were not allowed to use?
@Arourasb1 You are absolutly correct. If you are under an extreme impulse of the Spirit you must prophesy or be in disobience to God. But that is not the same as an impulse from the flesh, which is what I've seen in every charismatic service I ever attended. Scripture limits the gifts of "pastor" to men (1Tim2:12). Women may teach, but their audience is limited (Titus2:3-4). To argue with this shows a spirit that is not in subjection to God. We all have our proper place in the body of Christ.
@james3v6 No one is arguing with you that the role of a pastor/bishop is only for men or that women have the right to teach other women or children per the word of God. However, I think you may be confusing roles and authority with spirtual gifts of the Holy Spirit. A woman may not be a pastor according to the word of God but the bible never says that she can't have the gift of tongues, or interpretation of tongues or the gift of faith or healing, etc. (1 Corinthians 12:4-11).
@Arourasb1 You must remember my friend, that the office of pastor and teacher are spiritaul gifts. No one should assume that role in the body of Christ without God's blessing and His gifting. My comment from earlier was to convey that I have never witnessed a charismatic service wherein the gifts of tongues were practiced according to the rules in the Bible. If a woman has an unction from the Holy Spirit she must prophesy and there will always be an interpreter.
@james3v6 Perhaps, I misunderstood your earlier post. If I did, I sincerly apologize. However, your earlier post seemed to state that you didn't believe women were allowed to use the gift of speaking tongues or interpretation of tongues.
@james3v6, @BrotherRyanHicks (Continued) Brothers, I had to share this with you so that you would understand that from my small experience. The Holy Spirit spoke through me, I was just obedient to open my mouth for the message. If I hadn't dont it, I would have grieved the Holy Spirit and the Lord would have simply used someone else to deliver the message. In each occasion, the message was immediately interpretted.
@Arourasb1 Praise God for His using you to edify the saints! I think you may have misunderstood my response to james3v6 as endorsing his apparent view that women could not operate in the spiritual gifts. I do not endorse that view :-)
@BrotherRyanHicks I didn't really think you did endorse that view but I felt it was important to chime in on your conversation with James3v6 so that any young believers or others that might be confused about authority within the church wouldn't be distracted by those comments. As you have already said the baptism in the Holy Ghost is available to all true believers as are all of the gifts of the spirit. :)
I would never forbid speaking with tongues (1 Cor. 14:39), but I have never seen anyone or any church that practices tongues follow the rules clearly laid out in Scripture:
Prophecy is always preferred over tongues (1 Cor. 14:3-19)
No more than two or three may speak in tongues, and one at a time (1 Cor. 14:27).
@james3v6, @BrotherRyanHicks I agree that we should all be obedient to the word of God, which means that as a woman I am to joyfully to submit to the order/authority defined in the church and in the home by the word of God. I have no desire to be out of line with the word of God or to try to usurp the authority in the church by trying to lead or teach men. Yet, I had to mention one thing. You see the Lord has used me on occcasion with the gift of tongues in the church and it was interpretted.
@james3v6 I think you may be misunderstanding 1 Corinthians 14:34 when applying it to the operation of spiritual gifts. Please read 1 Corinthians 12-14 as it sheds more light on the issue. With that being said I have seen the rules on spiritual gifts in 1 Corinthians 14 followed, but it is very rare. I think most professing Christians are disobedient to the word of God and many are ruled by their emotions. I always seek to obey God and lovingly follow what He commands us.
@BrotherRyanHicks Brother, I agree that MOST Christians are disobedient to what is clearly laid out in the Word. But especially the women who totally disreguard 1Timothy 2:12 and 1Cor. 14:34 and the church leadership that allows them to contiue in the sin of disobidence or teaches them that what they choose to do is just fine. If I am wrong in my application or understanding of 1Cor14:34, please tell me how, I am very willing to learn. If this is not enough room, please PM me.Thank you.
@james3v6 I agree with you on the Scriptures and I also think that God grants both men and women spiritual gifts to be used. I think this is vastly different from the modern rebellion today where women rule over men and the Scripture is constantly broken. God bless you my friend.
This teaching you have here is accurate however, I agree that the speaking in tongues is the initial evidence of the baptism of the Spirit (Ruach haKodesh). Do a study on the translation or transliteration on biblical names. More specifically, WHO'S names were translated and why. Your spirit in this teaching of your video is in the right place no doubt. Bless you brother.
Speaking in tongues as well as others are certainly the evidence of the spiritual baptism. From Constantine forward, the serious and ruthless destruction of not only sound doctrine, but accurate translation has been nonstop. Even in apostolic holiness circles there is much that is not talked about (I'm former UPCI). Even so, I have much love for my Pentecostal brethren.
@ApostolicOutpost It is tragic to see how far from the early church teachings as found in the New Testament the modern church has fallen. We need a revival of strong holiness preaching of salvation, the baptism in the Spirit, gifts of the Spirit, and the fruit of the Spirit. God bless you.
@holinesspentecostal Amen! It is becoming a uncommon teaching. We Spirit-filled believers need to preach on the baptism in the Spirit more often. The world does not need more seminary educated, powerless preachers. The world needs more Spirit-filled preachers proclaiming holiness unto the Lord.
@Arourasb1 It is my prayer that the true saints of God will stand up and get filled to overflowing with the Spirit of Grace and touch this world for Jesus Christ!
@BrotherRyanHicks Amen!!!! Let's also pray that all those that have been decieved about the baptism in the Holy Ghost will learn the truth from this video.
@Arourasb1 Very true. Many have been mislead and deceived about the baptism in the Holy Ghost. The devil certainly does not what more believers witnessing with boldness and he fights this message as much as the salvation message.
@finalcall07 Amen brother! I am seeing more and more true believers seeking after God and seeking the baptism in the Spirit. God's glorious gift is being poured out more and more each day!
Amen Bro keep up the great teachings

Arourasb1 1 year ago

BrotherRyanHicks 1 year ago
@BrotherRyanHicks I didn't really think you did endorse that view but I felt it was important to chime in on your conversation with James3v6 so that any young believers or others that might be confused about authority within the church wouldn't be distracted by those comments. As you have already said the baptism in the Holy Ghost is available to all true believers as are all of the gifts of the spirit. :)

@Arourasb1 Amen sister!

An interpreter must be present (1 Cor. 14:27).
Women were not permitted to use the gift (1 Cor. 14:34).
Have you ever seen these rules followed?
james3v6 1 year ago

AMEN! Good old-fashioned biblically sound Pentecostal doctrine!
holinesspentecostal 1 year ago

Arourasb1 1 year ago
@Arourasb1 Very true. Many have been mislead and deceived about the baptism in the Holy Ghost. The devil certainly does not what more believers witnessing with boldness and he fights this message as much as the salvation message.

Amen! We need a Holy Ghost revival all over the world my brother. may Jesus bless you.
