  • It looks like you are going at about 60-70% max. PUSH IT MAN! You are on a track, if I were you I would do all-out sprints at 100% effort and nothing more (no jumps, just sprints), no need for cones and such, just run the track. Run like hell! Whenever I finish a Tabata workout I feel like I'm going to vomit and/or die. I fear them.

  • While Tabata training in itself is a very powerful method of training one's cardiovascular systems, true tabata training requires 20 seconds of maximal effort follwed by 10 seconds of rest, then repeat 8 times over for a total of four minutes. Unless the individual is stressed to their limits, you will not see the 14% increase in VO2max that was seen in the OLYMPIC SPEED SKATERS on whiuch the original study was based. Tabata is a great method, just ake sure you include all the info.
