So that's how the LS-6 sees from inside. That was awesome. I Love the symphony made by this engine mated to the M-22. Sounds great and can still toy around with much more modern cars without the help of modern electronics. This is pure power.
Pd. Unlike modern cars this one can be tuned with basic tools
Very cool video clip, and I must say as an LS6 owner for over 35 years that car is way detuned on the low end to drive away at just above idle speed and not blow off the stock tires in 1st and 2nd gears. And that coupled with the original wide ratio m-22 with a 2:20 first gear I'm not surprized the GTO pulled away in the beginning. These cars have a very strong top end and I would usually pull away from any contenders by 3rd gear. My car with exhaust manifolds liked to be shifted at 6500 rpm.:)
Ram Air IV GTO ran a 12.69 at 113 mph and won the race.. Not bad for a 400 cubic in engine vs. a 454 solid lifter cam Chevelle. Shows the Ram Air IV has 450 plus horsepower from less cubes.
My Bad, close ratio is correct! I'll have to go for a ride now so my memory comes back, lol.
