If You have that regular PS3 composite AV cable, so its connectors fits straight into the connectors of EasyCap DC60+ and You can play the game on Your computer's screen and also record that gameplay into Your computer at the same time.

You can't use VideoGlide with Elgato, because it is not Empia device. There is not Hdmi connector in that device so You need to get SD signal via composite cable or s-video cable. If You want to play in HD and record video at the same time to SD or HD (rendering to HD by a software) so You need a converting box - either composite to Hdmi or Hdmi to composite. If You have SD video output in Your TV so then it is possible to lead first Hdmi signal into Your TV and take it out in SD signal to the capturing device.

Consoles can't send both HD and SD signal at the same time and this kind of USB capture card doesn't have any HD connectors and so it accept only SD signal via composite or s-video connectors. You can change SD signal to HD signal in Your computer even on the fly with some softwares as like VirtualDub. Okay well I got my easycap and it records okay, but the audio quality is horrible. There is alot of background noise and scratching sounds? Also, the audio does not play in ulead. It only shows up when I play back the recorded file. Do you know what I should change my settings to?

Normally You need an active Hdmi splitter to split that Hdmi cable and besides that You need a Hdmi to Composite/S-video converter box for a capture card. Though in a few TV's is possible to get video out via scart port with scart/rca adapter (for example in my Sony Bravia this is the only way) or via composite or s-video outputs and then it is possible to lead first video in with Hdmi cable and take it out via those ways. NOTE! Over 90% of TVs doesn't have any outputs for video.

Yes - I am selling real EasyCaps. Think twice from where You buy Your Easycap/EzCAP - there is many copymakers in China for EasyCaps/EzCAPs and the cheapest one is always more likely also fake one. Fake product can look like an original, but quality is in most case very bad and it can go broken easily. Besides that the components inside the main unit can be totally different and the quality of the video and audio is much worse than in the genuine device.

You have bought a fake EasyCap which have inside totally different chipset than the genuine EasyCaps - The basic model DC60 v2.1c should have inside Philips SAA7113 chipset (32bit video driver called Syntek STK1160) and the best EasyCap model DC60+ v3.1B should have inside Empia 2861 chipset (video driver called USB 2861 Device).

I am not an expert of fake EasyCaps, but I can say that normally laggy video due to that Your processor works too hard - so check Your CPU Usage (<50%).

Which makes it worse is that the only programme that seems to work with my easycap is ulead studio, and that is so crap. I tried other programmes put when i select SMI grabber the whole thing freezesd and wont respond. Sorry for being arrogant, could could you tell me what to type into star - run to find out my CPU usage?

SMI chipset is the most cheapest video chipset in the market and if I compare it to Empia chipset, so it is Fiat and Empia is Ferrari. You can find CPU Usage from Task Manager's (press ctrl+alt+del) Performance tab. Test capturing with Windows Movie Maker 2.1 which is known very light for processor.

I am guessing this is something to do with my bad easycap chip/old prosessor. My CPU usage before capturing changes from about 7% - 32%. It continuously changes

@EasycapExpertti ok, I have found out that easycap DC60+ are not sold in the U.K. so I'll have to make do with what I have, when I do press record the CPU useage is always between 80% - 100%. I still don't understand why the only programme I can record with is videostudio. And the easycap itself doesnt give out sound. When you press audio source you have the easy cap as an option. On mine it has a thing called media wave device which is my computer speakers, but oh well

@OoBiGsHoToO SMI chipset is not a genuine EasyCap chipset and so it uses totally different drivers than a real EasyCap. I have heard that there is not at all USB audio on that SMI chipset and so it is planned to use computer's own audio card drivers via USB, but unhappily it is not compatible with most of the capturing softwares.

Your CPU Usage is too high and capturing cant work well. Ulead VideoStudio shut down visual effects of Windows and so it can save CPU usage a little bit.

@EasycapExpertti Thanks very much for the help, I have found out that the disk I got with my easycap says version DC60 but I'm guessing the + makes all the difference. My quality isn't bad, I just wish it could be better, if you want to take a look at the quality go look at my video channel EpIcGaMePlAyZz. Recently recording has been crap because the clips are extremely laggy, but it has only happened recently so I am guessing that my CPU useage has got worse. So I'll check that out

I have not said it is HD quality - I have said it can be capture straight into HD size. The max capturing resolution is 576p (PAL) or 480p (NTSC) and in this sample I have rendered it from 576p to 720p and I would not say this quality is blurry - it is very near the quality of the HD PVR devices which costs 8 times more than this device. I have advertise this product as like Pinnacle sells product "Dazzle Video Creator Plus HD" which have inside the same Empia chipset.

I wouldn't say that it is very close to the quality of the HD PVR, do a side by side comparison and you will see a clear difference, the hd pvr will be much clearer. However, this is still very good quality.

DC60+ offers better quality video and also audio, because it has a totally different chipset than DC60 - Empia 2861 chipset is faster than Philips SAA7113 and so there is less sync problems, though it also need more powerful processor (at least 1.7GHz P4).

DC60+ supports both 50Hz and 60Hz video and DC60 supports only 50Hz video.

In the beginning of 2010 the genuine EasyCap/EzCAP factory from Shenzhen

changed that installation disk to the new version called EzCAP v3.1C.

If You want to get the best possible quality, so I recommend to buy s-video cable. Then when You have that so You can say which one is better and how much. It is difficult to say sure if You can get hardly any benefit, but when You have tested them, so You can say. I am using PS3 and I do not know how good quality cable is that standard composite cable with Xbox, but usually s-video gives You a little bit better quality.

For better video quality:

1. Install FFDShow codecs to Your Windows

2. Use gold plated cables and adapters

3. Check that all contacts between devices, cables and adapters are tight enough

4. Do not use any extra USB cable - put EasyCap/EzCAP straight to the USB port

5. Switch off all other programs and internet connection during capturing - CPU Usage should be under 50% and if it is over, so buy more RAM and/or bigger processor

6. Capture with 720x576px PAL, 720x480px NTSC

I used 25fps. If it is laggy, so the reason can be that Your processor works too hard.

Check that from Task Manager's (press ctrl+alt+del) Performance tab - CPU Usage must be 5-50% during capturing and if it is more so try to stop all other

You have lack of power in Your comp and that laging due to that. If You think that You have enough RAM and powerful processor, so check if You have some unknown big process (virus) going on in the Task Manager's Processes tab.

Those are commercial softwares and VirtualDub is free and besides that it has open source - so You can make it even better itself. Sony Vegas doesn't support capturing with Empia chipsets and I think it is not possible to capture straight with HD size without black borders with WinDVR as it is possible with VirtualDub.
