I think people should agree to disagree. Taiwans economy has benefited more by being free from China. It has come on leaps and bounds in regard to GDP , technology and indeed its culture has evolved differently. Ok there are people that believe it is part of China but Taiwanese people do not. Neither do they want to be part of it. I love living in Taiwan and would never want to live in China. Technically it is part of China but only on paper.

I think people should agree to disagree. Taiwans economy has benefited more by being free from China. It has come on leaps and bounds in regard to GDP , technology and indeed its culture has evolved differently. Ok there are people that believe it is part of China but Taiwanese people do not. Neither do they want to be part of it. I love living in Taiwan and would never want to live in China. Technically it is part of China but only on paper.

Taiwan is the ROC which was established in 1911 and followed from China's 5000 year history. Government officials and businesses from both countries are equally corrupt and will do anything possible for their own monetary gains(The baby formula scandals in China, the soft drink scandals in Taiwan, the ex-president of Taiwan embezzlement scandal, just to name a few). Both have their own breathtaking tourist spots. China just has more since it's a bigger country.
