  • i like the moive i'm reading it in school

  • @verkaforever Actually, that was a little joke they used for the 1949 original movie of this. It was just a joke that grew.

  • 1.58 John Squire. Legend.

  • could i love this any more? don't think so! i i so enjoyed the authenticity of the animation and the faithfulness shown to the true storyline...ahh, they don't make kiddies shows like this any more ;)

  • 0.44 Badger "fuuuck him up!"

  • This film is rare -- a children's film that is contemplative. When it aired on PBS, James Earl Jones introduced it. It's been over a decade since I've seen it.

The moments of warmth, punctuated by food are potent memories, some of my first associative memories: I feel warm and long for toast and tea when Ratty, with his little stove, is toasting bread. When they reopen Mole's cold home, and light the lantern, I feel so warm and happy. I would sing "When the Toad comes home" a lot.

  • did badger shout "Lock him up" after rat called taod a maniace?

  • Loved watching this as a child and still do, thankyou very much for posting the videos. I still have the book on my shelf, absolutley timeless. Is there anything more English than this story, its like a Brideshead Revisited for kids. Many thanks :)

  • This has nothing on the novel. i still enjoyed it though. i just wanted to express how wonderful the book is!

  • Did Kenneth Graham actually write an alternate ending where Toad goes off in a plane at the end? There's so many film versions where it happens I couldn't help wondering- it happens in the 1996 version with the cast of Monty Python, and in another version from the '00s.

  • They made a TV Series based on this film. It was better than the film.

  • I never got to see the ending to the movie. Thanks a bunch.

  • why do they always remove the Pan scene? the Piper at the gates of dawn was my favourite chapter, the reason it's called "wind in the willows" in the first place, and I never find it in wind in the willows renditions!

  • @lindaliriel That chapter has been adapted by Cosgrove Hall, but only in the television series.

  • at 0:46 Badger's voice "Lock Him Up!" I think that could be one of youtube poop's sounds LOL

  • not my favorite film but love this flim :)

  • @19funkybunny I prefer the Terry Jones version (1996) with real people, but it's still a great story!

  • Thankyou Sue, made my evening, sometimes a little gentle, quiet humour, and a reminder of how things used to be, is quite a tonic.

  • Look in the titles "John Squire" of Stone Roses fame.

  • Thanks SueStar112, I've been wanting to see this again for soooooo long!

  • The bit at the credits always makes me laugh. The picture with all of them possibly discussing what to do with toad, but yet, toad is staring at the camera with that huge smile on his face. When the camera zooms in, you can almost hear his insane laughter. Lmao !!!!

  • Just make an emergency landing dude. Plenty of flat fields, no power lines.

  • thx 4 uploading

  • To be honest, I never saw the credits but I remember James Earl Jones asking which character you would be.

  • would you suck on molleys fingers?

    ha ha ha

    funny looking fingers they are

  • a beautiful and fine work of english animation from cosgrove hall ,look at the voice actors sir michael horden , david jason , im sure peter salis replaced one of the main charectors.

whether cosgrove gave us danger mouse, or lines and shapes on rainbow,to chorlton and the wheelies to the new rupert we should be proud of there small begining to a new world ,thank you cosgrove for all my childhood memories

  • @wizzwamf Very true, now gone, but the memories will live forever.

  • @wizzwamf Peter Salis assumed the voice of Rat for the duration of the series; but Ian Charmichael remained the voice of the Narrator.

  • I loved the credits., reminded me when i was young

  • Comment removed

  • I could cry - this brings up so many memories!! lol I sound like such a wet blanket...

  • Ratty: You maniac!

  • Badger: "LOCK - HIM - UP!!!"

  • Mole: "Toad, this time you've gone too far!"

  • Toad:hang motoring! this is the life!

  • Looking at all the reactions of Toad's friends, I notice they each seem to fit very appropriately with some aspect of their characters.

Ratty calls Toad a "maniac", calling on his way with words in poetry and figurative language; Badger, with his wisdom and strong knowledge of law and justice, has a mind for legal punishment; while the mild-natured Mole administers a more reasonable rebuke, actually telling Toad where he has gone wrong, rather than simply insulting or deprecating him.

  • Dude, the reason Mole left his home is because he was disgusted with spring cleaning and he needed some time to see his friends. On a side note, if toad was arrested for stealing a motor-car, he would get time for the theft, but surely not twenty in the cooler!

  • well toad has the most deseptive form of intelligence. Badger always says "fool and his money soon parted" and it doesnt seem that there is any end to his money..its infinite, toad knows that the story is made only to save him in end, so why bother?

  • Wonderful movie! Thanks so much for doing this! :D

Are you planning to upload any more of the TV episodes, by any chance?

  • There are some episodes on youtube.
