I used to hate this car when i saw pictures of it. But to be very honest, its one of those cars you can only appreciate if you see it on the road. I saw loads of these when i was in Zurich recently, and its not actually that bad. Saw quite a few white ones which i thought were really good. Im liking it more with every sighting. Still think a bodykit by Vorsteiner would make it look even better though.

Its one of those cars that look much better in person than in pictures. The Cadillac CTS Coupe is another example of this. The Maserati thing was nothing but an example. If you have a panamera turbo, you will be faster than almost any other 4-door-car! I know a person who got a panamera turbo, and his friend have the rapide. They both are agree, the panamera its the best car in the world! (They have owned phantoms, lp 640's, f430 +++)

Most objective observers agree that Porsche is respected more for its engineering/performance than its good looks and that Italian and some English (XKE for example) sports cars have sexier designs. Porsche purists are in denial but most 911's look like frogs and are too stubby for most people. Panamera=bullfrog.

It's actually 5.4 seconds; I saw the review of this car on Top Gear. I'm an M cars man myself, because when the new M5 first came out, no other sports saloon could match it. If someone told me they were thinking about buying a big sports saloon, I'd advise them to choose between the M5, the Jag XF-R, the Audi RS6, the Vauxhall VXR8 Bathurst and the Maserati Quattroporte.
i respect your opinions! i was referring to the heavier all options. turbo gt. Panamera. it boasts some reliable 500hp. 0 to 60 . 4.0 sec. the official numbers on that car. ( i just cross referenced ) i'm biased.... i'm a 928 guy . i have two from the late 70's ... the two door coupe version ids the platform for the new 928. the Panamera is fast . is documented at Nurburgring as the fastest saloon car to date..... warm regards
you can't compare panamera with m3 because the bmw is smaller, and the panamera has better inetrior than m5 and a great chasis, pdk is better than smg, rear dinamic spoiler, etc. that's the reason it is more expensive.

I like it from the front wheels forward... except the wheels... so the bumper, lights and the front part of the hood, I guess. It kind of looks like a really squished(down) SUV or "crossover" from the behind. Anyway, if it helps Porsche make money, then I think it's OK.

Alex, I have to correct you - It's NOT the first PORSCHE with 4 seats! In fact, most 911's, even some Carrera's have 2 very_small_seats in the back!
They call them "emergency seats", like the emergency of having to transport more than 2 people. ;)

Porsche, stick with the 911. That Panamera looks like a stretched Cayman with a couple of doors bolted in.
Performance wise, it isn't actually that quick. It costs more than an M5 and yet has less power than an M3.

It's actually 5.4 seconds; I saw the review of this car on Top Gear. I'm an M cars man myself, because when the new M5 first came out, no other sports saloon could match it. If someone told me they were thinking about buying a big sports saloon, I'd advise them to choose between the M5, the Jag XF-R, the Audi RS6, the Vauxhall VXR8 Bathurst and the Maserati Quattroporte.

I would take the Omega first. But the M5 would be my 2nd choice :-)

i respect your opinions! i was referring to the heavier all options. turbo gt. Panamera. it boasts some reliable 500hp. 0 to 60 . 4.0 sec. the official numbers on that car. ( i just cross referenced ) i'm biased.... i'm a 928 guy . i have two from the late 70's ... the two door coupe version ids the platform for the new 928. the Panamera is fast . is documented at Nurburgring as the fastest saloon car to date..... warm regards

you can't compare panamera with m3 because the bmw is smaller, and the panamera has better inetrior than m5 and a great chasis, pdk is better than smg, rear dinamic spoiler, etc. that's the reason it is more expensive.

Fair enough. I will concede on a track it would probably beat an M5, but the Panamera just doesn't move me. Some cars I look at and love; some cars I don't.

To most, this car may seem unattractive. But for some odd reason the looks are growing on me everytime I see it. It just has a strong characteristic to it. And the wheels on the S version looks alot better than the Turbo version.

same here. i first seen it and it appeared as a lowered down cayenne. but now a few mounths later i've seen it driving around town a few times. and you know what, this car is soooo elegant....... and practical, as porsche should be. plus soon Gemballa is going to start a production of a tuned version of Panamera. Mistrale its called i think. This car is just a peice of art.

I like it from the front wheels forward... except the wheels... so the bumper, lights and the front part of the hood, I guess. It kind of looks like a really squished(down) SUV or "crossover" from the behind. Anyway, if it helps Porsche make money, then I think it's OK.

I think the rear is the only part I kinda like. It looks a bit like a Porsche Cayman or something, although it's a bit rounder. I think the letters are straight, but my filming, on the other hand, isn't! =D

I don't like it either, however i think that its a car of its time, in the sense that porsche follows the new tendencies exactly as it did with the cayenne at the time, which also seemed weird but sold thousands of cars. personally i would prefer a techart tuned 911 turbo...
