are you kidding?? that is the dumbest thing I have heard. gaisou is spelled with a "G' in Greek not a "Y" . The G is pronounced very softly. Giasou is the shortned version of a phrase "sthn H Gia'sou" its means, "to your health" but over time the Greeks just shortned it to "Giasou". that is why the plural version of Giasou is Giasas. just like "sthn hgia sas" which means "to everybodies health"....the phrase has nothing to do with turkish, so stop the nonsense.

It's been my experience that when I speak to Greeks or people that know Greek, I use the "G" version, while with non-Greeks or people who don't know Greek, I use the "Y" version.

For me, using either the "G" or "Y" is completely fine with people that speak Greek. Using the "G" version for those that cannot may be a bit confusing.
