I LOVE this song. It has been on a couple shows that my husband & I have been addicted to (Scrubs *it plays when Laverne dies,* & Kyle XY *it plays when Nicole gets pulled out of the car accident by the paramedics*) anyways it seems like it always signifies a great turning point in the characters' lives. And that makes me really really love it. I hope to hear it more often. It is an amazing song and makes me cry like a little baby every time I hear it.
My cat just died and I've been listening to this track a lot lately. I first started listening to Keane, this song in particular, around the time his health was starting to decline so I don't think I'll ever be able to hear it without recalling those memories and the sadness but I think listening to it now is helping. He was 17 years old, we've had him longer than I've been born. Some people might think it's silly to get so emotional over a pet but he was special Rest in peace buddy. I love you.
@GlenMuse795 That same thing happened to me. My poor little kitty died and then i found this awesome band. This song in particular made me cry, it still does!! And it is definately NOT silly to get emotional over a pet. Just because they are animals doesn't mean you don't form strong attachments! Very sorry to hear about Buddy though :'{
@eftultima It's just so annoying how people are like 'thumbs up if you heard this on scrubs!!'. This song was brilliant way before Scrubs, and people are like giving Scrubs credit for it if you get what I mean... Well I dunno, it just pisses me off.
@crazylara101 well then i apologize about the douchbag part. the thing is when the song played on that emotional part of the show it gets stuck in peoples mind increasing the popularity of the song. again i apologize
@crazylara101 then i apologize about the douchbag part. its just that the show made this song more popular since it was played during a speacial part of the show
It doesn't matter about what Keane intended the song to be about, it is about how fans associate it with their lives. A lot of songs have a specific meaning, but people like it because they interpretate it to themselves. To me, I associate this with no situation in my life, but I find it gut-wrenchingly gorgeous all the same. x
Having this song compared to any of these "TV" shows almost just diminishes the true quality of it, especially thinking about scrubs. This song should never be associated with any of those shows, only by the true meaning of the song.
@AnIdiotAbroad89 i was thinkin the same thing, but sometimes the only way people hear good music is by watching tv shows...and the episode of scrubs that this song played on was like the best/saddest episode ever
@AnIdiotAbroad89 for one of the greatest shows like scrubs to use this song shows that many recognise the band. Many films using classic songs also generates interest into songs that are not heard much these days. and the song fit that scene in scrubs, because she was dying so it made sense to use its a bad dream
@JasonVoorhees6661 Alright, but the song itself is about a soldier going to war and his indifference to it. But i see your point. I mentioned "scrubs for the fact that i personally don't like the show, or the "OC" for that matter and therefore wouldn't want them associated with the song. The scene must not have been too important if you cant remember who "she" was. The new Winnie the Pooh trailer would make me shed more tears.
@AnIdiotAbroad89 the song matched what was going on in that scene. Her best friend was about to die, which matches the keane song its a bad dream. Because that is what it feels like seeing your best friend about to die is like a bad dream. I love scrubs watch it everyday, so when they use the song from keane it is awesome.
@Blueberry488 That's bullshit... Everyone finds out they like a band somehow, some might find Keane via Scrubs, but that doesn't mean they can't be true Keane fans... You're pathetic...
By the way, I'm not a big Keane fan, I just like this song and it was in a beautiful moment on Scrubs;-)

@Blueberry488 Oh, of course, I'm sorry, you're right, just because someone doesn't like the same music you do, he's pathetic... You really are too superficial to earn any kind of respect...
@Franknarf94 K whats the point of this? you freaked out at me. you don't know me at all so who are you to call me superfical AND PATHETIC? i was JOKING last comment and trolling just like you had previously done to me. Relax. For the record, asshole, you called me pathetic first for saying what i felt? I'm fourteen years old dude. You need to troll on someone your own age.
@Franknarf94 you started the arguement for no reason, SO YES! i agree completely. let's end this. this song is too brilliant to be vandalized by silly comments
@Blueberry488 No, no. Please - PLEASE don't stop arguing. Youtube arguments are the richest and rarest form of entertainment to be found ever - you don't know how many lives you bored, human interaction-starved youtubers have saved having expletive-ridden, wonderfully useless and drawn-out rows that fill up the youtube comments with the kind of insults thrown about in High school cafes in the 90s! And i'm not even being sarcastic - seriously you jumpstart everyone's laugh-reflexes. Don't stop.
@Franknarf94 No, no. Please - PLEASE don't stop arguing. And i'm not even being sarcastic - seriously you jumpstart everyone's laugh-reflexes. Don't stop.
You are technically correct, in the sense that a true Keane fan would have gotten their album early and heard the song before it was featured on some show.
I was listening to this on my break and as much as I love the song, it ruined my day. I was nice and happy when I started and then I started listening to it and felt sad and didn't finish my food and was super tired the rest of my shift. And I can't stop listening to it
This song reminds me of when I told my feelings to one of my best girl friends and I got shut down and how I now feel bad about pressuring her like that and almost ruining a friendship. Guess I was wrong, things don't always have a happy ending...
It makes me think of how Carla cried for Laverne's death... it also leads me to think about in his persective, men should, by society's standards, hide how they feel, how they have to do things they don't to do and make decisions they dont want to make. he wonder's how he gets on with his life and how his decisons affect him. He lives a life where no one seems to care...but one that he must bare until the end. I may be wrong but thats my interpretation :) This song is strong in emotional power.
@Vebinz why should women don't undestand this?! war violence camaraderie and doing what you don't want to surely are associated with men but that doesn't mean a woman isn't able to feel that way.
Sorry women can't understand this song, it's about men, hate, war/violence, camaraderie, and doing what you really don't want to because it's your duty.
@Vebinz It's also about his reliance on women to get on with the fact his life is filled with "men, hate, war/violence, camaraderie, and doing what you really don't want to because it's your duty." So cut the old sexism eh?
season 6 episode 15 was really very sad but it wasn't the saddest, season 3 episode 14 when ben died made me really crying, but also that wasn't the saddest.
there is no oppurtunity to say which one was the saddest or funniest or something like that, because every episode has an own character.
this song makes me think of my father dieing infront of me when i was turning 7...il never forget...:( u gave him life to save my mom my twin bro and me...and still that family blams cuz for my own fathers mistaks...people dont get it.......
Sadness, fear, anger, and regrets is presented and expressed in the most subtle, graceful and dignified way. Something about this song really touch me deep inside. One of the most beautiful song I've ever heard.
It's a shame so many of you had to be introduced to this song, and this band, by way of tv shows. They were out for a long time before. But it's also great so many of you enjoy their music.
I miss you so much. I miss your friendship. You stared at me as though i was some sort of alien. I only came to visit in friendship. I just wanted to be with my friend again. NOT boyfriend, i understood this. You looked so angry, scared, resentful....i am a stranger to you, i miss you, i know you wont ever see this. You dont know the whole story. I feel so judged. I wish you happyness and love...but i miss you so much, i love you. I am so grateful for the time we had together.
@JoeT3378 You are sooooooo wrong. Have you actually ever bothered to listen to the albums? Each one is a masterpiece. Admittedly, H&F was the only one that grabbed me instantly, but if you give the others a chance, they are equally as good, if not more so.
I don't get this fetish everyone has with scrubs. Yeah it was a decent show but this song is way to good to be paired with Laverne's death. She was one of the least important characters on the show.
@lolwatfull it wasn't necessarily the fact of how important Lavern herself was with the show, she wasn't the star like JD or Elliot, but the importance of her was the fact that she had a huge impact on each of the characters especially Carla which was why her death was intended to be so dramatic.
@TaylorFueled Don't get me wrong, I understand why Laverne's death was important. My big beef is with the fact that this song is now "the song that Laverne died to" Instead of "that badass song by Keane". I just think that song should be appreciated for it's lyrics and melody.
@lolwatfull Who SHOULD have died then that would warrant this song be ing played? Cox? Kelso? Janitor? Ted? .... Exactly, so shut the fuck up you clueless simpleton.
The Part no on my side i was fighting sounds like me coz there really is hardly anyone with me at school i dont have alot of friends only like 10 something like that.. so yeah Best song <3
this song is fucking great and gosh his voice is amazing. my band is trying to find a singer that sounds like him but seriously no one can do it but him.

Kamelkatze 1 year ago
A great song for men.
Sorry women can't understand this song, it's about men, hate, war/violence, camaraderie, and doing what you really don't want to because it's your duty.
Vebinz 1 year ago
This has been flagged as spam show
@Vebinz It's also about his reliance on women to get on with the fact his life is filled with "men, hate, war/violence, camaraderie, and doing what you really don't want to because it's your duty." So cut the old sexism eh?

season 6 episode 15 was really very sad but it wasn't the saddest, season 3 episode 14 when ben died made me really crying, but also that wasn't the saddest.
there is no oppurtunity to say which one was the saddest or funniest or something like that, because every episode has an own character.

The problem with Keane is there singles are good, but there albums are crap
JoeT3378 1 year ago
@JoeT3378 You are sooooooo wrong. Have you actually ever bothered to listen to the albums? Each one is a masterpiece. Admittedly, H&F was the only one that grabbed me instantly, but if you give the others a chance, they are equally as good, if not more so.

I don't get this fetish everyone has with scrubs. Yeah it was a decent show but this song is way to good to be paired with Laverne's death. She was one of the least important characters on the show.
lolwatfull 1 year ago
@lolwatfull :/
Gridlock471 1 year ago
@lolwatfull it wasn't necessarily the fact of how important Lavern herself was with the show, she wasn't the star like JD or Elliot, but the importance of her was the fact that she had a huge impact on each of the characters especially Carla which was why her death was intended to be so dramatic.
TaylorFueled 1 year ago
@TaylorFueled Don't get me wrong, I understand why Laverne's death was important. My big beef is with the fact that this song is now "the song that Laverne died to" Instead of "that badass song by Keane". I just think that song should be appreciated for it's lyrics and melody.
