  • just pure devotion n nothing else; jaye radha vallabh

  • Jai Shri Krishna

  • Could someone please help me to contact Lila dasi. I would like to learn how to dance for Krishna from her. My email is nexusnova1@gmail.com Thank you.

  • hare Krishna

  • of course that is not to deny that in modern times the mysteries in places have been forgotten and exploitation occured.. cultures change and so do values..with the new may come new corruptions..the old may be lost and used as an excuse to violate within the standards of the new... if a true revival of the mysteries is attempted and engaged upon then that is another thing altogether

  • we have to remember that ancient India was a land very far from our own.. Sexuality and spirituality were united in a way that our modern Christian influenced culture finds it hard to comprehend..flesh and spirit are not seen as being in opposition in the tantric view... if we interpret such traditions through our cultural standards then of course it looks corrupt.. but in the context of a land of devotion and deep reverence for bodily arts..including love as an art..it can be seen differently

  • In recent year Dev-Dasi's are used only to fulfill priest's sexual needs .. Its one of the heinous traditions ..!!!

  • @rasikananda Which subject are the dancers expert on exactly? The history of the Devadasi system? They don't seem to be aware that sexual slavery was not a 'misuse' of the practice - but an integral part of it. Also, if we are into the business of reviving a lost pure art form - then the concern should be with reviving Sadir, which was the dance that the Devadasis performed. Bharathanatyam is a sanitised version, adapted for the stage with an audience that is in front of the dancer only.

  • This is a disgusting attempt to glorify a tradition of sexual slavery.

@anu123km @theultimateotaku Little girls were forced to give up childhoods and left to service the gods, the 'arts' and the powerful local men and priests because of the Devadasi system. To have any nostalgia for a repulsive and violent tradition and to try to reclaim it as holy is obnoxious.

  • @waterbuffaloish Waterbuffaloish, you seem to ignore the historical and spiritual perspectives given by the authorities on the subject, the dancers themselves, and espouse a perspective similar to that which was espoused by the British when they came to India as part of their attempt to defile the ancient Vedic culture.

Even if there was mis-use of the practice, it still doesn't negate the value of the original intent, which is what this video series is about; reviving that original purity.

  • @waterbuffaloish

take your ugly words elsewhere... these people are happy to be part of a beautiful trdition..

  • so beautiful..

  • This is a wonderful video about people dancing for Krishna! Oh I love it! I would love to learn to dance like this, but I am in a small town and I am not a little girl anymore...I am now an adult. oh but I wish I could learn this dance! To dance for Krishna would be a wonderful way to please Him. :)

  • @theultimateotaku maybe in your next life, Krishna will fulfill your wish. God bless.

  • Lila, you are my inspiration and the reason why I became a dancer. My respect at your dancing feet. love you
