@TimeBomb014X Mary Elizabeth McGlynn will provide her voice in some of the game's musical themes. The monster you're talking about is The Judge and he MIGHT be the new Pyramid Head, but we still haven't seen much of him yet, so we can't label him as "scary" or "not-scary" for now.

@E25mad25 well for me akira was great but his recent scores on games really got... Old. Most were remixes, so I think it is time for a new composer and Daniel Licht seems to know what he's doing. If you disagree just know konami could've hired korn to do the entire soundtrack.
@yeriw89 homecoming was very good and still maintained a good mixture of Battle , Story and puzzles, and as most silent hill games im thinking this one will have alternate endings as well, but we will just have to wait and see for ourselves once it comes out :D have fun

I've not played it, but from how it looks you can see too far, there are too many people and it looks like an American horror movie. The main character only has a reason for leaving SH, not going there like the originals.

I'm a Korn fan but silent hill is not a place for nu-metal. Having said that I am looking forward to the game but it does have a very Alan Wake feel which is not really a bad thing and I have yet to play a Silent Hill game that was awful I just hope this is not the first one.
I want to like Downpour. I really do. I loved Shattered Memories to death, thought it was a stellar entry. Between the stock scream that plays as the prison vehicle rolls (REALLY?) and the Korn track, I'm really lowering my expectations. Why Korn? I don't doubt they could pull off a moody song, even though I'm not at all a fan. Play the Silent Hill theme or something, sing in minors and really cast as mood. This is fucking cliched rock at its worst.

@6969Zola I agree. It was a bad choice to get Korn for the title track. Even though, Daniel Lichts work on the E3 2011 Trailer for example is 'Silent Hill-ish'. I played all the Silent Hill games, except Origin on the PSP. I also hate the decision to move SH completly out of japan to please the fat american audience. Which brought us the awful Homecoming. On the other Hand Shattered Memories was a damn fine experience from britain.

But games are still from japan. :D I also kinda liked Homecomings story, but it felt like the game for the movie adaptation, or a very very expensive fangame. Retelling clischees and trademarks, instead of new interpretation. Even the original Team Silent tried something new with "The Room".

@6969Zola I suppose silent hill downpour is doing it's best to keep the silent hill spirit while modernizing it a bit more. While the atmosphere probably won't be anything as good as the original game's feeling of isolation, the rain aspect could still reinvent the feeling of desperation and hopefully make us feel like we are drowning.

Silent Hill was never about fucking scaring people like the "jump scares" we had in Silent Hill Homecoming. It was a psychological horror that made you turn your back around even after you had turned off the tv. Silent Hill is meant to fuck with your mind and the 1-4 certainly does, but this is just a joke and actually more a mocking to the franchise. Look at the good franchises like Resident Evil and Silent Hill and watch what they have become. Thanks for ruining another franchise.....

I've not played it, but from how it looks you can see too far, there are too many people and it looks like an American horror movie. The main character only has a reason for leaving SH, not going there like the originals.

I'm a Korn fan but silent hill is not a place for nu-metal. Having said that I am looking forward to the game but it does have a very Alan Wake feel which is not really a bad thing and I have yet to play a Silent Hill game that was awful I just hope this is not the first one.

I want to like Downpour. I really do. I loved Shattered Memories to death, thought it was a stellar entry. Between the stock scream that plays as the prison vehicle rolls (REALLY?) and the Korn track, I'm really lowering my expectations. Why Korn? I don't doubt they could pull off a moody song, even though I'm not at all a fan. Play the Silent Hill theme or something, sing in minors and really cast as mood. This is fucking cliched rock at its worst.

@6969Zola I agree. It was a bad choice to get Korn for the title track. Even though, Daniel Lichts work on the E3 2011 Trailer for example is 'Silent Hill-ish'. I played all the Silent Hill games, except Origin on the PSP. I also hate the decision to move SH completly out of japan to please the fat american audience. Which brought us the awful Homecoming. On the other Hand Shattered Memories was a damn fine experience from britain.

But games are still from japan. :D I also kinda liked Homecomings story, but it felt like the game for the movie adaptation, or a very very expensive fangame. Retelling clischees and trademarks, instead of new interpretation. Even the original Team Silent tried something new with "The Room".

@6969Zola I suppose silent hill downpour is doing it's best to keep the silent hill spirit while modernizing it a bit more. While the atmosphere probably won't be anything as good as the original game's feeling of isolation, the rain aspect could still reinvent the feeling of desperation and hopefully make us feel like we are drowning.

Silent Hill was never about fucking scaring people like the "jump scares" we had in Silent Hill Homecoming. It was a psychological horror that made you turn your back around even after you had turned off the tv. Silent Hill is meant to fuck with your mind and the 1-4 certainly does, but this is just a joke and actually more a mocking to the franchise. Look at the good franchises like Resident Evil and Silent Hill and watch what they have become. Thanks for ruining another franchise.....
