excuse me...1930-1940's in california, there were no machines to do the works in newcastle, placer county. People picked fruit and climbed on ladders that they built, built the wooden boxes that they packed the fruit in, canned their own fruit in bottles, inventory was taken by the fruitgrowers and children slavery was legal
