the turbo cars were a bit of a curiosity when they came out, not real reliable...most people swap the motors for a 400/455 when the turbos fail

Were these cars hotter than the mid eighties 305 trans ams?

@turbotransam1980 Well, the TTA's in '81 put out 210hp/336tq. The third gen 305 TA's put out around 200hp/230tq and were lighter. Just surf around wikipedia, you'll find all the info you're looking for.

@turbotransam1980 They're a piece of history, of course I would. Just don't expect big block power out of them.

@turbotransam1980 182.72rwhp/233.03rwtq - Numbers are a little skewed because it's not quite set up right yet, we were just playing around at an Fbody meet. Need to pull some timing and remove the mufflers. It has removed EGR and cats in this video. Also need some new tires since they are pretty bad.
