@JuanMacready George VI was a constitutional King, but I remember his picture being on the wall of the bomb shelter of our school. I remember going to the pictures. When they played God Save the King his picture was on the screen with the flags of all his dominions waving behind him. The Queen's predecessors gave the British government about 10 billion pounds worth of land in return for a civil list annual payment which at present is about 15 million pounds, which is to support the royal household. That's not very much. As for being no serf, who the hell is a serf?
