  • Long live the Hmoob and Miao~-**!!!!!!

  • Dianthusboy and Niam txiv , you two are just Shaming us more by arguing stupidly on here and getting nowhere with it, why don't the both of you go get some therapy and sit down and chitchat about ur dissatisfaction with each others knowledge, no wonder we Hmong don't have a homeland cuz pepo like you two don't know how to work together to uncover the truth about our history together as a team instead fighting like enemies. I don't care whether u have a dipshit masters doctors or a high school d

  • i don't Hmong dawb's clothes. they look too shabby.

  • Wow, I'm so proud that we've come out of our closet to find out who we really are...I'm still wondering, are we not Mongolian? Anyway, thanks for the history.

  • All I know is that I consider myself Hmoob n I am really proud of my origin. I uphold my people with the utmost honor. When other ethnic group refer to me as a Meo, I take that offensively. However, if they don't know no better, I would help educate them y I feel that way. It's just like white ppl openly labeling African Americans "Niggers" nowadays. Even calling them "Negroes or Colored people," would b offensive to them. I'm Hmoob n proud...!

  • Here's a question: What about the new group of Hmong that arose in the United States called the Hmong Brothers (Hmoob Khej Dub)? There's got to be at least 20,000-30,000 of them in the United States alone that profess to be Hmoob Khej Dub. They don't even talk our language anymore. They walk, talk, eat, and dress like khej dub! And instead of singing kwv txhiaj, they bust gangster rap and participate in wanna gang banging.

  • Miao is the official name used in China for Hmong/Mong,Hmu,AHmao,Qho Xiong. The term Miao can't be taken away for these few reasons:1,Miao is already used as an official name for our group. 2, Miao has long been writen in history referrence to our group and to keep that history we must keep Miao. And there are l a lot more reasons but there is not enough space to list them here. So the easiest way is to keep it as is and add your subgroup. i.e. Miaohmong,Miaohmu,MiaoAhmao, Miaoqhoxiong.

  • @jeffxeemwang , to add i say ask our super old gramps (if they're still alive)... look ask any of the old guys, back in laos before vang pao got control of his troops everyone called us miao (which he said was super offensive) or mispronounced version of it, according what i heard from gramps laotian and thai's only started calling us ( h)mong after the french came/ hmong rise in power in military branched. He said After vang pao took over every adress us as hmong (in fear) intead of miao.

  • sorry 4 typo's

    everyone, instead

  • Red hmong is .............the green hmong.

  • fucken chinese...im gonna cap myself some to night.....dam im mad....im gonna rape my chinese girlfriend now....lol

  • The engravng on the first frame says "border savages shall remain suppressed forever", 1500AD (Ming dynasty). It's not far from where Ayouduo lives.

  • I want to give thanks to MR. Xiong who discovered the Hmong history, ancestors, and provided great timeline. If you don't have it yet contact him or look for him in Hmong New Year and buy it, it is something worth to have, if you really want to understanding Hmong history.

  • hmong people we are all ready reunited by history around the world. just by visisting talking to hmong people they are so happy that they have a written history now not just by listen and reading it they can actually go se it go visit china find out were we all come from if you are curiouse about it its fun..

  • DIANTHUSBOY, we must follow the same story and history, with respect to all hmong doctorian degress DR YANG DAO, DR NKAUJ LIG, and DR TONY VANG. we all have teachers we all have to stay in our history origin that is all ready written down, don't make up our own history. readying is fiction, listening is fiction, go out there and find it, see for your self you will find the truth..

  • this guy is a good host or speaker... i like him... he makes these movie so interesting... idk... but i like the way he talks...

  • i love you. you love me, we're a happy famileeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!......lol.

  • Im Hmong; I dont mind when people call me Chinese. My 89old mother told me long time ago our ancestors did come from china. If you listen to the languages of Mandarin some Hmong words sound just alike. There are between six and twelve main regional groups of Chinese; 13 languages or as dialects. I believe Hmong are Miao/Chinese!!!

Oh thats why Lao/Thai people call us Miao!!! Dont believe me.ask people from Laos/Thailand! LOL

  • What your are saying is true, we are sub-group of China but however we are not Chinese. We are HMONG!!! The Chinese named us Miao and the Laos made fun of us. That's why we stick with Hmong becasue that is what we are HMONG not Chinese. China has so many kind of sub-group and we happend to be one of them.

  • lol...reading all these comments makes me laugh because it just shows how closed minded all us hmong are...........you say this i say that....WE WILL NEVER KNOW WHERE WE ARE FROM, we will only know what written history tells us......who really knows how long the hmong history goes back, but why cant we just accept what we know now and stop all these nonsense debate. Remember that we are all hmong and just be proud of it..

  • I think its good to have a debate but should stop with the personal attacks? Funny how you two are arguing about who is more liberal-er? At least you two have something in common. You two really care about Hmong Culture? So maybe, reintroduced each other again? Until then take care my Hmong brothers!

  • niamtxiv,

not to be mean but i knew from the very beginning that something is WRONG about your critical thinking skills. now i know why your debate and argument don't make any sense and not logical at all. and no common sense.

i didn't know that you're only a third year college student. what a shame.

no wonder your arguments don't make any sense and they are not consistent at all. and now wonder you got all these hmong history all wrong. sorry.

  • lol,

dianthusboy, are you talking about yourself? the one who thinks we are white peoples? the one who thinks we thinks we are from tibet and india? the one who thinks yao people are hmong?

you are ridiculous. please, don't chat with me anymore. i can't stand people like you who are so retarded. you must be a republican. jajajaj

  • oops, second question refers to you, the one who thinks we are from tibet and india? my bad.

geeze. dianthusboy, you are a sad little boy.

first, we're white to you, second, we're tibet and indian to you and now, we're mien/yao people to you.

you have been 100% MISINFORMED about the Hmong culture. i will not speak to you ever again because you are a total moron and complete idiot.

and with that stupid statement about hmong in a billion chinese. shut the FUCK UP. yes, and I will say it again

  • your logic doesn't make any sense because you are being bombarded with closed-mind thinking like the americans.

you are so narrow minded. the sad thing is you got all your information from young hmong people today who know nothing or little about hmong history. You need to talk to dr. yangdao, dr. Nkauj Lig, Dr. Tony Vang to get some facts about our history. it's sad for a future hmong expert like you to get all your hmong facts backward and fucked up. feeling sorry for you from Geneva.

  • it all makes perfect sense.

it's sad that you're so off. what is wrong with you? where have your brain went? why are you so backward and misleaded?

    you are a sad person.

  • niamtxiv,

your brain is damaged beyond repair. you are so ridiculous that you think our blonde hmong are made by the french during the endochina colonization. our hmong people had very little contact with the french in general. only the leaders in the lowland had direct contacts with the french. the typical hmong were up on the mountains hiding in the mist.

you are what the hmong people call "Tsuam Tsab Ntse". you are got to be the most stupid hmong student on hmong history. WHAT A SHAME!

  • you are so misinformed about our history. you don't have the first hand information and history about our people. what you know is what other young hmong passed on to you. your information is so damn bias and so inaccurate!!!

what a shame for a young hmong like you who claim to be an expert when your expertise is all wrong and backward. i hope you don't on teaching hmong literacy and history/culture in fresno or sacramento or st. paul. it will be a great LOST to learn from you.

    what shame

  • misinformed, tell me what have i been informing that is consider wrong? majority agree with me. darling, everything i've talked about are information passed down from my parents, elders, european anthropologist and hmong chinese scholars and historians.

yes, I hope on teaching hmong literacy and history and culture in sacramento.

you're the one who is bias and so darn inaccurate.

  • you know what? the funny thing is i am actually a super liberal democrat. here in switzerland, i support SAME-SEX MARRIAGE, so i don't see how anyone or you can be more democratic than i am. if i were a republican, i'll be living in America with you guys. the USA is the most closed-minded white people country in the whole world.

I HOPE YOU DON'T VOTE "YES" ON THAT PROPOSITION 8 IN CALIFORNIA FOR THIS NOVEMBER.

  • actually darling, I voted No on Prop 8. you don't know me and people who do know me, i am the most nicest, liberal, great thinker, open minded and friendly person ever.

  • well, that's too sad for you because i have been supporting gay marriage way before you do. you're not as friendly and liberal as i am because i live in the most liberal country in the world. switzerland is the country of free thinking and expression. America SUCK!!!!

  • Do I care if you're from switzerland? lol, you made me laughed because you're illogical and stop flattering yourself. I don't care if you support gay. I have gay friend and I love them. Their lifestyle is not my concern. You have problem issues.

  • I think we have to listen and wait until

someone have visited there. Think about

when we still stayed in Laos, we didnt know

that there are Hmong in Vietnam more than Hmong in Laos and we didnt even know that

there are Hmong in Burma. So, India is

located very far away, it gonna take one

more time to get to know or until someone

have visited there. It is better to hold on.

The story I typed on here last time was from a

Hmong woman's son, but his father is Indian.

  • During Ching dynasty, Hmong have been scaped to Korea, Japan, India, Berma, Thailand, Laos and Vietnam. My friend

said there are Hmong in Indian, have

3 millions and have many high ranking

officers. I was surprised what he said.

I asked him, why they dont do business

with us? He said that they do with China, not to our side thats why we dont know about them. There are 7.4 millions in China, but not include those cant speak

    good Miaos.

  • Hmong in India?? Are you sure? Majority of Asiatic people in India are Tibetan and other Burmese-Tibetan people. There are no Hmong in Korea except exchange students. Our population in China is about 9mil. Vietnam have 4ook, Lao have 3ook and Thailand have around maybe 2ook.

  • narrow minded. soon, you will say there are no hmong in argentina, france, brazil, and australia. JUST BE OPEN MINDED AND OPEN YOUR BRAIN TO WHAT OTHER PEOPLE TELL YOU. DON'T BE DEFENSIVE OF YOUR BELIEF.

OH THE FUNNY THING IS, THERE ARE HMONG IN SWITZERLAND, TOO, AND WE ARE NOT YOUR "EXCHANGED STUDENTS". SOME HMONG FAMILIES HAVE MIGRATED FROM FRANCE TO SWITZERLAND FOR ECONOMIC FREEDOM. THAT'S RIGHT, YOU JUST GOT TOLD THAT THERE ARE HMONG IN SWITZERLAND!!! NOW TAKE THAT!!!!!!!!

  • what is your problem?

  • my problem is you. you are so stubborn. you are so defensive of your belief and so narrow minded.

  • i am stubborn? people who know me tell me i am the most open minded person ever. i am not narrow minded.

  • dianthusboy: Yes, we just mention about those

people been escaped during Ging Dynasty and

to those countries. Those countries u have

    mentions, thats since Vietnam War.

  • the people who told you that you are the most open-minded perosn ever probably have the same kind of mind as yours. maybe they are so open-minded that their minds fell out of their heads and now they are mindless, that's why they said/lied to you that you are the most open-minded person they have ever met.

I CAN FIND A HMONG AMONG A MILLION CHINESE, BUT I CANNOT FIND A MILLION CHINESE AMONG A HMONG.

  • oh lord. i am known as the most liberal person ever. trust me. LOL the reason why i disagree with people is either because they are biased and they speak with insufficient and illogical reasoning. your last statement was quite confusing and it does make sense because the word Chinese is vague, all ethnic groups in china are CHINESE unless you're talking about Chinese in general.. btw, Chinese have many subgroups; different in languages as well as traditions and cultures... same as Hmong.

  • oh i like that quote "i can find a hmong among a million chinese, but i cannot find a million chinese among a hmong"----i'm gonna steal that.....lol...(this is so true TO ME ONLY)...

  • Hey! I agree with niamtxiv. during the Qing dynasty hmong only escaped to Xov Tshoj which is laos, thailand, viet,Burma. Hmong didn't escape to India at that time. If there were hmong in India it would be in this modern time.

  • it's logical that there are hmong in india. there are hmong in burma, and india is right next to burma. therefore, it is possible that the hmong in burma might have crossed the border to india either during ancient time or during modern time.

I CAN FIND A HMONG AMONG A BILLION CHINESE, BUT I CANNOT FIND A BILLION CHINESE AMONG A HMONG. i think you know what this means.

  • no, there are no hmong in india. hmong people did not travel that far. there are only about a population of 1 to 5 thousand hmong living in burma.

  • i disagree with you. you are talking about ancient migration only. please don't forget that people are always on the move. even in the usa, they are moving up and down, east and west all the time. here in europe is the same. it is apropriate to infer that they might be moving around all over the place too in Burma, just like those in thailand, laos, and vietnam do. therefore, it is possible that many hmong might have crossed the border from burma to india, since india i a neighboring country.

  • i disagree with you on your estimation of hmong people in burma. 1 to 5 thousand only in burma? what an outrageous and ill-estimation. according to Su Thao and ST Universal Video of the 90's, the hmong population in burma is way way more than that. i don't know the exact estimation quoted in the video, but it's more than that. it's been almost 20 years, so the population of hmong in burma might have double or triple from the amount quoted in Su Thao's traveling video of hmong in burma.

  • i'm sorry, but i just don't think you will be a very good expert in hmong/miao history. you might become one of those pseudo-experts, and that's fine with me. but i think if you actually make it to become a university certified expert, that would be a disaster for our hmong people. you are too defensive of your belief and ill-judgement.

i can find a hmong hiding among 1.6 billion chinese, but i cannot find 1.6 billion chinese hiding among a hmong.

  • okay, you just made me laughed.. ahahahahahah

my knowledge of hmong history is very good... though i admit i still need to do more research and especially field research.. however, atleast i am not the one claiming we are WHITE and that our ancestors were white.. ROFL... ahahahahahahha you are too biased. btw, we're not from israel or russia.. ahahah

  • look, your knowledge is only as good as the books you've read. i probably might have read some of the books, articles, research findings, etc that read. however, i don't agree with everything that you have said about our history. you ONLy know that much about hmong history and you think your knowledge of hmong history is very good already? to me, that's such a LOW standard of knowledge.

  • ouch. i never claim to know about hmong history. i know enough to know where we came from.. unlike you who believes in theory that we came from siberia or mesopotamia and that we're some kind of lost caucasian people. LOL i have yet to learn more... the more i learn the more i gain much respect, appreciation, and love toward my culture, my heritage, my identity and my respect for my parents, elders and ancestors. i can tell you that you're a bias person and you lack common sense.

  • i'm not biased. i just don't agree with you. your knowledge of hmong history is also based on theories and other non-sicentific work. sorry, i just can't agree with some of the things you strongly believing in. in my opinion, you are just as biased in your knowledge as i am in mine. oh, so you have more common sense than i do? remember, you and i read the SAME research works and listen to the same stories about our history. i just have a different belief from yours.

  • no, we may listen to the same stories but i get in dept more than you. i analyze what i hear and read, compare with other finding and research. i am not you. mine is not based on theory because all of my work are based hmong chinese scholar, the elders and other works. i even have to study chinese language and history to further my knowledge. i've been doing my homework since i was a seven grader.. now i'm a third year college student. that's how long i've been researching and studying.

  • i don't know how you can be more thorough and analytical than i am when we both read the same research, learned from the same hmong chinese scholars, read the same sentence and words from every books. the hmong chinese scholars use theories too. so you have basically read what they theorized about hmong history.

oh my god, you're only a third year college student? boy, i have surpassed you for too long. i'm already finished my master's in economic/business.

  • Yes, Hmong went to India during this modern time, maybe 5 years ago only. Remember that Hmong did not escape to India during Qing dynasty. Never! OK!. There may be some hmong living in India just for business purpose

  • i also do agree that there might be hmong there in india.. u never know the possibilities so u cant assume they're not there..

and if they are there are not i dont see a proof so nothing's wrong with it. anyways its not like anyone research or not.. so the possibilities are open that maybe they went to india or not.. remember that hmong people always travel.. they travel all the way from siberia to china.. so u cant even assume how far they would go...

  • wat i don't get it??

  • The Narrator is the producer and creator of these 3 series of Miao (Hmong) Chinese documentary films. He went to China several times and studied with some Miao-Chinese scholars. He probably got the census figures from the Miao-Chinese scholars. I would say that at the moment, the number of Miao would be 9 or close to 10 million in China.

  • i'm just curious, where did the narrator get the census of Hmong people in the different countries and areas?

  • nice
