  • THUMBS UP FOR MAC

  • 5 stars!!! VERY NICE!! You downloaded the video.

    I subscribed!

  • it's all about drag/drog looks and more features.. they dont add features to kernel or shell.. no technical changes... thats lame a bit :P

  • stills works and runs better with more productivity than windows though, so its acceptable imo. i use ubuntu though im getting a macbook next christmas.

  • the next os x release (10.6 snow leopard) is all about technical stuff, speed, and reliabilitiy

  • vista isnt perfect but its better than the competition

  • gosh he said quick look 2 times

  • does blue ray work on a mac leopard

  • I've installed Leopard OSX on my PC, works way faster then any Mac out there. 100% Stable. But OSX sucks for gaming, even with parallels/vmware/crossover nothing runs it well, theres also no shader support on any of those. If you like games and want to save money stay away from mac, because its a rip off:P, I bought my pc for under $800CAD (19LCD Samsung Widescreen, 3.2GHZ Core2Duo, 4GB mem, 7600GT, 500GB HD, Antec900 Case) I can restart to xp any time :P.

  • Oh and I do like OSX Leopard itself I'm not talking shit about that:P because it is a good operating system, but I don't like Mac Systems, because they are pricey, they just rip ppl off seriously. Thats the exact same reason that Apple Doesnt make OSX for PC's :P they would loose a lot more money, thats the reason there systems are priced so high, because they don't sell nearly as much as pc's... This is true I heard it on an interview:P thats why theres no OSX for pc right now.

  • I want to get or build a hackintosh but arent there big flaws to it and that Apple doesn't want you to use there OS on hackintosh's and there taking new precautions so that the OS doesnt work on the hackintosh?

  • haven't heard of that, but I've just like many other ppl have gotten it working flawlessly no crashes and things like that also updated to 10.5.2 without any problems :), this things super fast all mac games first of all run on high lol and im only using a 7600GT.. I don't know if Apple would do anything, but if they do I think someone will find a fix, a lot of people are working on OSX86 projects.. You won't have any problems, UNLESS you have outdated hardware, but otherwise your all good..

  • k tnx

  • where can u get it from

  • does anybody knows why i cant open the Imovie with the new leopard? please i cant open imovie and safari somebody tell me please... thanks

  • For the new Imovie to work you need

    1. To have an Intel Processor

    2. Compatible hardware for the new video

See if you have those above!

  • and u can get a skype for free, same as the ichat

  • Skype is by no means similar to iChat...

  • i was just thinkin that lol

  • Hehe.

  • fap fap. fap.

  • Fap fap fap?

  • mac os x sucks pls get linux or vista sp1

  • vista sucks dick

  • pls stfu

  • yeah, probably ever OS should work as Windows, NOT!

Apple came up with most GUI features Microsoft copied later, so why should Apple change to make OS X useful for windows retards?

  • eh naw. linux pal.

  • it's been made more streamlined though :P

  • What format are the videos you are watching? what program are you watching them in? Which version of OS X are you using? I could probably help you figure out how to watch your videos in full screen mode.

  • maybe you should get a bigger monitor? I have no problems with "window" placement on my 13.3" macbook. What Mac were you using/what size monitor? Are you aware you can resize and move the dock?

  • the guy who came up with transparent dock should be fired from apple developers. That is the most childish and useless feature ever.

  • Yeahthereis.imovieitsmuchbettergaragebandsomuchbetter

    itssommuchmorefun

  • Um... I don't know what to make of that comment. However, let me say this. The english language has something called "spaces". Learn to use them. :)

  • why do mac people act so gay and fony

their aint nothing a mac can do that windows cant do just get the software of what you want thats some thing macs cant do their stuck with what they give you

vista put the final nail in the coffin for apple R.I.P.

By the way i own a mac too

  • I'm going to be the stick in the mud and say that I find Leopard to be a step down from Tiger.

I've used OSX since the day the first version was released and each new version was faster and more efficient than the prior, peaking out at a flawless Tiger.

Leopard is sluggish and a resource hog that's more about looks than performance. Hopefully Apple can tweak it out with updates, because it is indeed lovely to look at.

  • Nice video i like macs and i also like windows vista they both so elegant and fast :)

  • iLove Mac OS X

  • I am so excited to get this on my new macbook! I am really sick of PCs and Windows.

  • vista has a great lineup of pc games that mac dont have and its just overall better, leopard should be used as firewood

  • Only relevant for pc gamers. Leopard > Vista for everything else.

  • you think being Unix based it wouldn't be so "selfish", and expensive

  • Use Vista

  • it looks like a mix of previous operating systems with some stupid and useless features and useful features that already exist.

    wtf apple?

  • true i only see new stack feature as new other than that rest are samed on older ver of macs but with new options lol

    windows vista and linux ftw

and yes i tried mac all slow

  • vista != linux motherfucking bitch

  • Having been a PC and Mac user I have to say I prefer Mac, I will not be returning to Windows because the Mac is ergonomically more suited to what i do. Leopard is fine for me.

  • Totally agree man. I love how people who don't have macs just post angry comments about nothing. They're like, "Yeah! Well you're stupid!" It's really pathetic...

  • I hate to say it guys but none of this stuff is "only in Leopard", that's only true in comparison to other Mac versions... which really doesn't mean anything at all.

Stacks? Fair enough, however this was only because the Mac has no "Quick Launch" or "All Programs" type menus which you see in other operating systems like various distros of Linux and of course Windows.

    (Continued in next comment...)

  • The Finder changes aren't really that impressive. As said before, both Windows and Linux have thumbnail previews, and as far as Quick-Look goes, why do you need that when you could (A) open the document or (B) just look at the thumbnail?

iChat is great and all, but what does that have to do with the operating system? Why not release it as a general software update?

    (Continued in next comment...)

  • As far as the mail changes go, why not also release that as a software update? Apple is worse than Microsoft (or Micro$oft as you guys so... cutely put it) as far as capitalism goes, you're just too blind to realize it.

Spaces? Linux had it, Windows has had programs for it. Sure, it's integrated into the operating system, but why are you using that as a defense? You've criticized Windows Vista for a handful of its features being the same thing.

    (Continued in next comment...)

  • Time Machine? Windows Vista has this, and Windows XP (and possibly previous versions) had System Restore. Talk about ripping off ideas, right? You guys like to complain about that.

And last but not least, I'm suprised he didn't mention Boot Camp. Yes, every Mac user loves to bash Windows, but the happiest day in their lives was when they could run it on their Mac.

  • System restore is not Time machine. System restore takes your system all the way back, without going back. That sucks. Time machine brings separate files back.

  • Obviously you don't know what Windows Server is. It has had individual file backup for a long time now, in a less flashy fashion (meaning it "just works" and doesn't have all the graphical crap with it, oops, was that your catch phrase?)

  • Totally agree, brockh6350 doesn't know wtf he's talking about. Time Machine does not function the same way System restore does. Every time i try to restore files with System restore, it tells me 'there aren't enough significant changes to restore back to that point'. Even though I know the computer wasn't in the current state as it was before. Not to mention that shitty system registry in Windows... So glad I switched... Still have that crappy Windows XP Laptop in my room tho lol.

  • He fishined every video with

"only on leopard..".. i have to say.. "On Leopard too.."

Linux had most of this things about 1 year ago!.. At.. $0.00 dlls! :O haha.. Nice. i support Mac.. Nice inprovements.! love it.! SCREW WINDOWS!..

  • Dont be one of those fags

  • Mac OS X Leopard: $129.00

Windows Vista: $330.00 (style and originality not included)

  • MAC OS X Leopard: 129.00 ( i pay for it to install it on my lap and test it.. really like it.. but i love more Linux

Winshit Vista: 330.00 ( slow, useless and expensive)

Red Hat- Fedora 7 : $0.00 (Toll Free.)

  • wtf i payed €80,- for vista and i prefer vista

  • Yes, but Vista and Linux you can install on both machines Mac and PC, and Leopard you can install only on Mac. I can't understand it. Why not allow people to choose their operating system? Why Macs are soooo expensive? (I mean hardware of course). Why Apple and Microsoft aren't equal rivals? Because Apple are afraid to make it on bigger scale! They're afraid of competing with Microsoft. Sad, but true.

  • Not true,Apple used to try open its OS just like Microsoft but unlucky failed miserable(Viruses,Drive and software compalitible problem)

  • MUAHAHA i have leopard! :K

  • Leopard seems appealing and I've always admired the Mac style but I still favor the linux distros, though I'm a developer so that's probably part of it. Apart from "time machine" I don't see a thing that hasn't been in Linux for a while already (ok, aquabar was post Mac). I'll stick with Linux but definitely considering a Mac for my next laptop. Only scared by the automatic networking, nice yes, but seems like that could be an open door for exploits of the system, but never as bad as Windows ;-)

  • Mac can also run Linux on it if you want it to. So if you buy a Mac you won't lose your Linux features you love.

  • this only puts vista on the trash bin

  • agree, but in this version, can you join a domain?

  • I GOT LEOPARD AND IT ROCKS!

  • People, let me tell you something, Vista raped my computer, it violated its hard drive, its ram, its everything... therefore I downgraded back to Windows XP, but when it came time to get a laptop, MacBook was my number one choice, and in September (Before University started) I bought the new iMac... I think we whould all learn a lesson from this and continue to spread the facts...

    Windows sucks donkey nuts!

Mac is the way to go!

  • agree in many things and desagree in others, but let me ask you, did you bought a "Risk " architecture Mac, or Cisc architecture?

  • Don't take me wrong, I love Apple, but, at 5:47, "Space" is already in Windows with a power toy called "Deskman"....

  • @Fuzzball3135:

But its not integrated into the operating system! There are download-alternatives for Mac OS X right now, too!

  • Good point.. Err, VERY good point....

  • "Good point.. Err, VERY good point...."

    ;)

Sorry Fuzzball3135, I copied the wrong nickname...

  • i have a imac and when leopard comes out i will get it but if i have something i dont want peaple to see they can just acces it threw time machine so i dont knnow what to do i like it thou very nice i have a intel celeron pc with ubuntu 7.10 alpha 5 and i like that more than os x 10.4 at the moment i would suggest any 1 with a pc should use ubuntu

  • it is really true that i like the ubuntu much better, also i have to admit the eyecandy design from mac is really amzaing. but somehow, it seems we can not give up the windows totally. anyhow, i prefer the ubuntu. yup! 1 with a pc should use ubuntu.

  • Linux is not good for productivity, Music, and presentations.

  • From Apple's site:

Now you can completely erase sensitive files you no longer need. When you delete a file or folder, Secure Erase Trash makes sure that it no longer exists. Traditional file deleting simply removes the file name from the disk directory but leaves the file data in place. Secure Erase Trash immediately overwrites the file with erroneous data, so that the file disappears and cannot be reconstructed.

  • Isn't this feature available since Panther in 2003?

  • Ubuntu really rox because its free and with compiz fusion you have nothing to envy from mac os or windows vista. mac os x 10.5 is very cool too but its not free, the worst thing you could do is use windows vista.

  • now i have 3 new computers one a imac chin with os x tiger it rocks no if buts or what but i have a vista pc aswell and truth be told i enjoy it but not like os x its slow its boggy its just not worth the money they charge cause i needed ultimate and my newest pc i have installed ubuntu 7.10 i have used ubutnu a lot but 7.10 to me is awesome i mean its so basic yet awesome its totally free and has everything free but btw macs do rule

    :)

  • I dunno

  • Awesome!

  • i've been a Microsoft guy all through my computing experience, but i have to say, i'm impressed. This looks like a much better thought through release than Microsoft's shoddy Vista. Looks nice too!

  • I wish they would just release leopard already! I'm buying a Macbook but I wanna wait until it comes with leopard on it.

  • It's coming in 7 DAYS!!! Whoo!!

  • Leopard:

    Experience the real WOW.

  • Thats insain....

  • For those who can't wait, here's where you can buy the beta from Apple: ht tp://developer.apple.c om/leopard/

  • Wow!, it's amazing... we'll see some of this features in the next Microsoft Windows, that's for sure ;)

The only thing that I don't like it's the Dock's size, I think it's too much big!

  • Ah yes, Windows always copies everything Macs do. The only problem is they do it worse and later...

The doc size is completely customizable. They just have it set at the default size. You can make it the size of a pin or take up half the desktop.

  • Yes, Microsoft always copies xD And you are right with the problem they have: they do it worse =P

I did'nt know that about the dock (I don't have a Mac), but thanks ;)

  • its sick. the only minor complaint i have is that i thought Time Machine would be self-based, but instead you need an external drive for it. no biggie, just a minor detail. Gateway used to have the same sort of thing except it was self based and it jumped back the whole computer rather than one file. maybe they could cherrypick this idea? eh just a minor detail, as for the rest its great

  • you can configure time machine to backup to a partition on your internal hdd

  • zomfg the spaces thing rox

    all rox!

    i <3 leopard

  • i wont need to wait, cuz i don't have a mac ;) still, awesome futures.

  • I can't wait...

  • same here :)

    i love it!!

  • hey dude..how much does a mac cost?..i mean with op leopard? i dont want a very cool mac,i just want something simple but good at the same time

  • do you want a laptop or a desktop?

you can go to appledotcom and click store to see all the macs available to buy; you can also configure them to how you want it. right now, all macs come with tiger, and once leopard comes out, they will all come out with leopard.
