Larry Blackmon really elevated the funk sound. Cameo propelled the funk into the 90's when Parliment, Bootsy and the rest of the funk bands had platue out!
Cameo is one of those groups that is timeless. it was funky then, it's funky now, and it will be funky twenty years from now. I have been the sound of Cameosis every since I first heard them. I went to a concert as a teenager when Wayne Cooper was with them and when they came out with "Why Have I Lost You?", the crowd went WILD!!! A ittle trivia for you Camoe lovers out there . what was Cameo's original name? A small hint...this is where they came from as a group. The New York City Players
