BaBa, I heard this so many times, Wayne seemed to have no problems with minorities. His movies are loaded with native Americans, Mexicans, African-Americans and none of them ever had a bad thing to say about him. In fact the black actor Roscoe Lee Brown who co-starred with Wayne in The Cowboys said he prepared himself to dislike Wayne. Once shooting started Brown was amazed because the star didn't act like a star. He was gracious and kind to everybody.
Hey @Dogsectorgren John Wayne was not a Draft Dodger he had Lung Cancer and had one of them removed thus unfit for Duty ! You are insulting his memory with your slanderous remarks!
@JudgeYork Actually he had a knee injury from college, and a family, so he requested a deferment and it was granted...Still did wonderful things for the war effort and America in general.
I've just seen this video and realize John Wayne could make comedy films, he's a great comedian although he hated gays, sometimes he likes jokes making gestures with Dino about it. Rio Bravo ts a western with a little comedy, I don't know why the Duke didn't get along wih Sinatra. Daniel Bueno, the best English teacher of Ecuador.
Wow what a great video! I cracked up when John started singing with Sinatra's voice. I miss those days. Actors back then weren't just actors, they were entertainers.
This is hilarious! Nobody like these two guys anymore. Hollywood is a total joke now with people like Susan Sarrandon calling the Pope a "Nazi." What a bunch of losers. Can you imagine The Duke or Dino acting like that? Not in a million years. These two guys had class, something that Hollywood desperately lacks now. We won't talk about morals because Hollywood doesn't have any.
@Dogsectorgreen Funny how you see things, i remember John Wayne calling people cowards for not fighting in Vietnam, yet was a draft dodger himself. John Wayne was probably known more for his political views than any other actor, always pointing the finger at some group or another and making statements about stuff he should have kept his nose out of.
Dean martin on the other hand was a true entertainer, he did not try and force his views down others throats.
@26highstreet Uhm, Mister? How did John Wayne dodge the draft and stay in the country? Because...doing that is illegal, you know? And...as for more known for his political views...you're not aware of modern Hollywood, are you? Most conservative actor in Hollywood history? Certainly. But far from the most political.
@26highstreet He wasn't a draft dodger. He wasn't accepted due to his age. He was 34 when Pearl Harbor was attacked. But he spent the rest of his life showing his love of courntry.
@Dogsectorgreen Amen I agree 100 % People need to stop supporting the idiots in Hollywood. and Suport those that stand up for whats right.. America needs another John Wayne
Two of the few "Hollywood" type's that I would like to have met in person. I did get to talk to John Wayne on ham radio in 1974. Love this song. I just did a cover version of this great old Dean Martin song. Anyone interested stop by my channel and check it out sometime.
