@cliftonmullins You might be interested in the book "Big Road Blues" by David Evans. This song goes back to Charley Patton, the Miss. Sheiks, and Tommy Johnson. Notice the stark similarity to Wolfs "Smoestack Lightning" too. Evans' book is brilliant read!

This is a great record. There is also a version done with the great Sunnyland Slim on piano that is every bit as good.
