Finally a video of someone that can drive an MR2 the right way. Sucks about the spin, looks like its because you lost balance because of the S2000 braking hard.
Awesome video. It's nice to see an MR2 being raced on the track rather than the quarter mile. Just out of curiosity, are you driving on aftermarket rims and tires?
On that trackday I was running Volk TE37s (16") with Bridgestone SO2 road tyres. I've moved to Kumbo V70a's on those wheels (track tyres) and got another set with road tyres on.
Nice driving! That was a lot of over steer you had there. My MR2 is not that bad, do you have a lot of extra hp? My turbo sounds like yours, love that sound. I have done a few track days and also looped my car too, although I went off the track a lot more.
Thanks :) The oversteer was the result of playing with the geometry (loads more front camber) and not softening the rear damping to compensate. I like a car to oversteer, that was just a bit much!
HP is fairly stock, it's been dyno'd at just over 300 with a nice fat torque curve.
The S2000 and I have had many duels. Later on that day, once I'd sorted out the damping he fell off trying to follow me through crainers :) My car was quicker that day, but with a few mods he kept me honest round rockingham!
No,I was being serious. I really do quite like the sound of it. Pity I can't hear the turbo quite as well as I do yours on my Saab 9000 Turbo that I've breathed on quite a bit.

What a healthy sounding turbo!

A sarcastic comment? There's no sound deadening between the cabin and engine, that's how healthy turbos sound...

yea, but that car, if not driven in the exact manner it wants, comes with a lot of oversteer.

I was running a lot of front camber and not much rear hence the oversteer.
I do get through a lot of tyres but I also run tyrereviews dot co dot uk so it sort of makes it worth it :)
And yes, LOTS of fun drifting an mr2, even if they do snap hard (my other car is a 350z)
