@mrmatthew12323 Plant, obviously. This is because it cannot move and has roots and such. Also, the Venus Fly Trap doesn't have the ability to think about closing its "mouth" or not. Those little hairs inside the "mouth" instantly triggers a reaction in the plant to close its mouth, so it has no conscience. The Venus Fly Trap needs a bug in its mouth to use as a basic fertilizer, even though it cannot have the standard fertilizer to thrive, and will actually kill it. The Venus Fly Trap uses the

the bug triggers some very tiny sensitive hairs in the crack (lol) which are the sensors,

then the red needles paralyze and may be suck the blood out of the bug and

Youtuubpewp, you are kinda of right in your answer. It takes a lot of energy for the plant to close like this so it has a redundant system. To make sure there is something inside it and not a false alarm the plant will NOT close if you touch 1 sensor hair. It takes two. After 1 hair is touched the plant will ONLY close if another hair is touched within 20 seconds.
