is it just me...or when its game day , and your sitting down, getting ready..all of a sudden the band starts to play, the announcer says Your Oklahoma Sooners, that Crimson and Cream rolls on out..and you get a burst of excitement, heart sinks to your stomach..and a deep breath..as you watch the best team ever trot out onto the field....idk maybe it is just me..but i feel like a kid when i watch my favorite team...

I definitely get those feelings, but the announcer says "ladies and gentlemen.....................­..iiiiiiiiiiiiiiiittttt's football time in oooooooklahoma!!!!!!!!" a real sooner fan knows this. BOOMER SOONER!!!!!!!!!!!

drove the whole way to this game from birmingham. it was my senior year in high school. I honestly can't remember a more heartbreaking loss nor a time when I was more proud to be from Alabama. Also the people of OU were exceptionally warm and gracious hosts. I met several very friendly Oklahoma fans and would recommend a trip to Norman for anyone. BUT JEEZ TYLER HOLD ONTO THE BALL

@jdollar66 as an OU alum, i feel your pain and also have to extend my hat to the graciousness i have experienced from Alabama fans around the country. i think OU and Crimson Tide fans are kindred spirits.....i have visited tuscaloosa and it reminded me of Norman...Boomer Sooner and Roll Tide!

man, the last decade OU had so many great teams, it's amazing they only won the championship in 2000.

2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2007, 2008....all really good OU teams.

They need Jason White in 02, i think. He got hurt real early in the season, and Nate Hyble or whatever just wasnt that good. Gotta love little Quinton Griffin though.

@TheHipHopNazi Agree on all, but I think Hybl doesn't get enough love. I'm glad now that Landry got all that playing time last season, but I think the team would have done much better under Hybl last season. Same thing in 2005 when we had Bomar.

It is definitely mind boggling they didn't win at least another title. Would have been interesting to see how they would have done against Miami in 2001 or 2002 (with White).

I'll always remember this great game! At halftime I think I even went outside thinking OU was going to crush Bama. Great comeback in the 2nd half! I have much respect for the Sooners because of the 2 home and away games played those years. And plus when the OU band played Yea Alabama when the Sooners crushed Franchione at A&M!! haha priceless!!

A year later in 2003 Dennis Franchione returned to Norman Oklahoma in the hopes he would finish off the upset....... yeah I remember that game, it really wasn't that pretty.

Hey, this is the kind of game you expect when you have two of college football's traditional powers going head to head. I was proud of my Crimson Tide evethough we lost in heartbreaking fashion. At least this shows that when you play teams like Bama and OK, no matter how good or bad they are, u are going to get a tough game.

damn this was a good game. Bama fought hard that day even though we was on probation. I think Oklahoma was rank in the top 3 in this game. really can't remember. I know OU had All-Americans all over the field that year. Hope we can get a home/home series with them again. Somebody get the AD's on the phone and lets get it done lol. ROLL TIDE!!!
