I owned an A with a modified O-200 for several years. The most fun airplane I ever owned. Literally flew it everyday to work.... One year I flew it 360 days and 779 flights,
That's the prettiest 140 I ever saw!!! Nice polish work and flying skills!!! Love tail-draggers!!! Who needs that "training wheel" in the front anyways??? LOL!!!
Hey, I like "hot doggin'" like the rest of the folks, but: One of these days when you are stopped with the tail "flying", oppppsm, a little gust of wind and over on the prop!! Lots of dollars there, would not you say? But, nice video and good "one wheel" technique. But, sorry, still a hell of a lot of hot doggin "for the folks".
@americanistashido hay muchos cessna con patín trasero o convencional... fue el primer tipo de patín q hubo... de hecho hay muchos modelos como el C180, C188, C185, y otros...
Fantastic !!! Absolutely fantastic !!! This pilot obviously knows his stuff. The world needs more airplanes like this. Excellent video, very well done.
I just bought my first airplane. a 1947 Piper PA-12 and this video gives me a goal to work towards. If I ever am able to fly this well, I'll feel like an accomplished pilot. Well done!
I admire the takeoff at 2:10 full power, gets it rolling, sets the flaps, off the ground and then almost immediately pushes forward to accelerate on ground effect. just beautiful.
thanks for this awesome video, such a breath taking airplane.
One of my earliest memories is flying with my Dad from Germantown, OH (he worked for Aeronca) to Neenah, WI in a 140 to visit relatives. It was winter and Dad piled blankets on me to keep me warm. Since then I've been in love with this plane and yours is beautiful!
I live right across the street from the Cessna Pawnee plant here in Wichita. What a wonderful airplane on this vid! And even more so killer skills of the pilot. My hat is off to you sir. I learned to fly in a 120 off a grass strip in the middle of Kansas and can tell you this is not easy in a taildragger. Wonderful clip.
The Cessna 120/140 was absolutely the best entry level airplane produced after the war.
Thousands were built at the pawnee plant in Wichita. The flying by this owner shows how nimble the 140 really is, and why there still very popular today.
You can get over alot further on one wheel, really brings back some great memorys. Great production on the video, and I like Gary Allen, perfect for this clip. Awesome
I'd say this pilot has mastery over his C-140. I don't know whether that's natural ability or gobs of experience, or both, but it's beautiful to watch--especially in such a gorgeous airplane. Gotta get me a taildragger!!! And a polished one to boot.

Close... The 120 and 140 both have dual struts. The 140A has the single. The 140A came out in 1949 as the 120 and 140 were discontinued.

I believe the C 140 has a single wing strut and the C 120 has 2 as pictured here.

Great! Holding the balance on throttle alone in a taidragger is awesome. And with sufficient windspeed to do a vertical landing. Well done!

Wow, definitely have some skills! I fly a 1952 C170B and it would end badly if I attempted some of that stuff.
