  • hey how do you keep it open and see the agitator working...u mention a magnet?

  • Thanks for uploading the video. This is just the info I was looking for.

  • Is this a high efficiency washer?

  • HE/H.E Stands for High efficiency.

  • Needs faster agitation. Liking the long stroke!

  • @amberlynn6914 I'll bet you do

  • Needs more water for a load this big.

  • is this a HE washer?

  • @TheWASHINGMACHINEBOY No, I think it's a girl.

  • @RadioClambake A girl? With that thing sticking up in the center? ;)

  • Why are you calling us weirdos? You're the one posting the video, which means you must like washers too.

  • @PlausableApple4 your mom likes washing machines

  • @RadioClambake Whatever you say

  • I'll bet you can "sense your own load", jagoff...

  • let's see..... the whirlpool washer my mom still has from '84 doesn't have to "sense it's own load"... funny how these new "smart" machines have to do that... when it was never a problem before....... how smart is that?

  • My parents had a 1982 Kenmore washing machine and though it didn't have that really fast agititation some Kenmores have for the first 4 minutes or so, it REALLY turned a very large load over, and rinsed quite well, too, using just the standard set of rinses (five sprays before the deep rinse, four after).

  • The clanking noise is my giant testicles knocking together.

  • @RadioClambake can I lick 'em?

  • I don't like it. Not enough agitation and that clanking noise.

  • I was thinking about buying one until I saw some videos. Not enough agitation for me. And I do not like the clank clank that this type appears to have a problem with. I will keep looking. To bad manufacturers can't just make a frigin' washing machine. I should have just repaired my Kenmore 80 series. It did the job. Call me old school but I want to control the water level, water temp wash and rinse. I will keep looking.

  • You're the one posting about your washing machine. You're just as weird as those of us who comment, jackass.

  • @mrbrandon71 I know you are but what am I?

  • CRAP...PURE AND SIMPLE! LOOKS LIKE REAL WASHER...BUT DOESN'T AGITATE LIKE ONE.........NO TURNOVER...NO SPLASHY GOOD NESS......CRAP!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @mrbrandon71 what

  • Oh now I get it. Hydrowave means slow wide swivel ratio to the agitator. The machine is over loaded. Many people do this. I dont' know why.

  • What they are calling Hydrowave used to be what Kenmore called Super Roto-Swirl. And uh, you have the washer overloaded. It should not take so long for those green sheets to turn over. I don't know why so many people overload their washers. It's not good for the clothes or the washer

  • lol back and forth back and back and forth appliance woody

  • this washer is junk!! were is the spining!!

  • THE PROBLEM: Slow Agitation... Can you imagine how much better the cloths would be in that huge tub if only the agitation would be faster? The sheets would have tuned about a hundred times in a cycle. All that water wasted and you think your sheets could use another rinse.

Kenmore and Whirlpool really beat up the cloths from the bottom of a large load to the top! GE never cared for efficiency. Not even the GeneralElectic HE washer!!! PREFORMANCE SUCKS!!!

  • yea kenmore and their that junk drive cupler design! and if no that try the culth or the brake whatever T.F.

  • The problem with this type of washers is that de amount of water needed for a single wash is enormous!

  • Whirlpool started all the rollover action on the Kenmore line in the early 70s, long before the others took on the system.

  • They may have been the first to advertise it, but definitely not the first to have it. Washers were rolling over clothes way before Whirlpool launched a line of washers. Take a look at some of these older washers pre 1970 on here. Now that is roll over. The Dual agitator I would give them credit for.

  • The ORIGINAL IDEAL for a twirly agitator was inspired by Whirlpool itself! They thought it could somehow give identity to the main appliance's name with a "whirling pole."

The bottom part of the double agitator did all the hard work moving back and forth in fast motion, while the the whirling pole whirled the cloths downwards towards the bottom of the tub like a large screw, also in fast motion.

Advertising the "Double Surgilator" washer through the Whirlpool brand was really a hit!!

  • I used this machine recently, and it is totally inferior to my 1995 Kenmore top-of-line. NOT GOOD rollover, and, GET THIS-it doesn't even deep-rinse the clothes!!! Also, detergents don't have to make suds to clean. In fact, they slow the cleaning and spinning speed down. I strongly suggest using the HE detergents Tide, Cheer and Wisk as they work quite well in my Kenmore! Better still, get a front-loader!

  • Oh yea asnd the Kenmore is sooooo much better with it beating up the cloths like all DD whilpools do. BTW, have fun replaceing that junk drive cupler design!

  • The click click that you hear is actually the motor running CW for a few secs and then CCW for a few secs. I bet the motor will not last too long. There are a lot of negative comments on this system on the internet. I do not own one but obviously was very concerned about the comments from other owners.

  • Acually the click-click is the drum not the motor.

  • is the washing machine really gentle on clothes?? Like shirts, t-shirts, pants, jeans, socks, underwear ect?

  • There is no way it can be gentle on clothes and be frugal on water and energy. Now way. Misconception.

  • Dude, dont you have anything better to do than to peruse youtube and make negative comments?

  • no. don't tell me what 2 say. butt off

  • i have a ge super cap. 16 cycle washer, have you ever heard of a washer motor just quiting no sounds no nothing, my wife turned it off checked the load and turned it back on and nothing fills up drains, but nothing from the motor any ideas please get back to me

  • 3:11 was that a burp?

  • i believe it was.

  • I like my front loader a lot more now seeing this washer did not turn the clothes over at all.

  • i was going to buy one but now im not ive heard windshield wipers quieter than that on a 1997 nissan altima

  • I had a Hotpoint model with the old-fashion agitator (from 1996), and it drew the clothes down to the bottom faster than that model did. I don't like those type of agitators, as I found they tore up my clothes.

  • I want to buy this washer!!!!!!!! I hate the washers that you can't open when in use.

  • I accidently came across this and wanted to say this guy sounds like a real pain in the ass,, arrogant,,,, OMG LMAO!

  • I must concur: that is, without a doubt, THE hydrowaviest! MUCH nicer than these short-stroke, maniacal threshing machines that are so ubiquitous these days. Bravo!

  • Thanks so much for this! Same thing as other posters here- delivered today, excitedly put in a wash, and thought- huh? Is it working? This helps calms my nerves.

  • rpm?

  • 54674645474547653473643574846854734347543

  • @RadioClambake C'mon!

  • @RadioClambake More like about 700 RPM... how did I know that...

  • on the first spin it's 500 Rpm and on the final spin it's 600.

  • @mysza1456 700

  • How much money did it cost and how well does it clean clothes?

  • some

    very

  • My aunt has the the GE Hydrowave washer. it's

    an interesting washer.

  • LOL Dont be such a washo-phobe, we like washers just like some people like cars or poetry. its not a big deal its what we like.

nice machine, though hate the noise it makes. it sounds distressed lol

  • Could you please demonstrate the spin cycle while wearing a bra?

  • This would have been a better video had you not overloaded the machine. You have clothes clearly up above the top of the tub line, thats why they don't move around properly in your video. This machine does a good job of circulating the clothes when loaded correctly.

  • It wasn't overloaded, it was just full. I thought I made that clear. It agitated fine. You may not want to think things are "clearly" anything when referring to a hastily-made youtube video.

  • The clothes were mostly floating on top of a lot of sheets and water. They take a while to get sucked down

  • Thanks for the video of your GE Hydrowave! And were NOT weirdos, but rather connoisseurs!

  • Wow... looks great...

  • Excellent video that she would like to know if this is not overloaded make a video of it overloaded

  • My wife and I just watched your video because we bought one of these and had convinced ourselves that it was broken out of the box because it didn't move much or make noise during agitation. Thanks for posting this video to reassure us that ours acts just like it's supposed to.....lol

  • I thought the same thing! That's partially why I made these videos in the first place, because this washer is eerily quiet.

  • Hey Radio, have you ever watched that thing ramp up and spin? Wow! I have never seen anything whir around like that!

We must be getting old or something.......it's midnight and I am thinking about washing machines. LOL

  • EXCELLENT. Thank you very much for this video::))
