damn...i am surprised your Mauser still has the cleaning rod. My Russian capture is missing that, along with the locking screws for the trigger guard. Anyways...nice looking rifles!
it could have been used by the Russians after they captured it...seeing how they didn't have a great supply of nagants (not to mention the Mosin Nagant is a piece of you-know-what when compared to the Mauser)
I have one Mauser 98 and I am looking for a new lock Someone knows where can Igo to buy it???

What caliber is the 98k?
maxinator53 1 year ago
it amazing these guns were designed in 1898 and are still considered the standard for a bolt action rifle.

the k98k is a russian capture

It's crazy to think that this was made in 1940. And probably shot a few Germans in WWII. Insaaaaaane.
Reido666 2 years ago
@Reido666, this is a GERMAN Mauser 98 haha, I don't think it would have killed any Germans in WWII unless the German shot himself with it.

It's really nice but why did you put the Argentinian Mauser above it? lol great video though.
majorporpoise 2 years ago
you see the Mauser and the gun above that is a Mosin Nagant
MIMIMYBF 2 years ago
It's actually an 1891 Argentine Mauser, made in 1893, all matching, minty. I can see how they look similar tho.

how did you get that Mauser..??
Is this one taken from a German during the war and brought over to the USA??
I have one that my grandfather took from a surrendering German. Its a Gew98 1916. I wish i had your 98k too...its a real nice. Take good care of it!
Barbraossa85 3 years ago
It's a Russian captured.
I'd treasure the gun your grandfather took from the Germans. Nothing like history behind a beautiful gun.
