next generation was cool..DS9 was a really cool concept..what made it suck was the dominion war..I really hope they reboot the franchise following the newest movie and give us something really great..Enterprise I thought was cool..This may sound dorky, but some of my best childhood memories was of watching Star Trek with my dad. It is a shame kids today do not have the kind of opportunity and good memories Star Trek has helped to provide.
Best star trek music ever!!! This was back when star trek was cool, back when star trek sent chills up your spine, back when it had serious violence, back when you could ask a girl on a date to see star trek and not have her get weirded out by it. Khan was classic, the all time best star trek foe. Favorite part was when the Enterprise sped out of the Mutara Nebula to escape the Genesis blast...
This score combined the best of maritime adventure with the wonder of exploring the unknown: the things that made Star Trek timeless aside from the memorable characters.
They don't make music like this, anymore. Particularly the segment of the composition that explore's the surface of the Genesis planet which is just sweeping. I dare you not to weep at it. I double-dog dare you. Beautiful work.
@mastermindjcg Amen brother! There was something about 80s film making and music that separates it from that of previous generations and the shitty film making and music in Hollywood today... Every now and then some artist in the music industry will make a decent song, but half the time it's because they're using elements in the music that originated in the 80s. Most of the music in action films now is rap. Star Trek is stupid now (Deep space nine, next generation). Both of those shows suck!

From 1:40 on, it gives me the shivers. I mean the whole composition is beautiful, but I'm telling you. Goosebumps.

This is my favorite piece of Star Trek music. I get goose bumps all over my body when Leonard Nimoy starts speaking the magic words. Truly awesome!

@mastermindjcg James Horner does. All of his scores sound so much alike, I can always tell his movies.

@mastermindjcg Joel Goldsmith does, just listen to the Stargate (series) soundtracks.
