• Master Tsao skillfully manipulates a large sphere of influence. Watch the waves following his hand movements.

  • Several years ago I had a 10 minute introductory lesson in Wu Tai Chi. I enjoyed it and remember that I slept like a baby that night; Never slept better.

  • Where can I find section 6?

  • energia en movimiento de un originiario arte ancentral del pueblo chino difundido por un sifu experto en su trasmision cultural saludo moos lee venezuela

  • nice performance

  • great

  • i study tai chi and other chinese martial arts for self defence i find more techniques from tai chi to be more useful to me.

  • Nice video..If you want see my wooden dymmy too..

    /watch?v=UkhyhZzxIlk

  • Very nicely done.

  • Awesome :)

  • Nice chuck taylors master Jesse Tsao;)

  • lo chido del video son los converce que trae jajaja

  • tai chi is the best martial art since i study it. i studied any martial arts but when i learned tai chi i said this is the martial art i like most.

its easy and good to the new begginers. and most effective when we use it jerking style.

  • Speak English!

  • Well I have been practising Wu Chian Chuan ti ji quan for 14 years now, and it is not the same style as I practise. Prefer my style taught by Sifu Ma Jian Bo father Master Ma died in 1998, one of Chinas national treasures and recorded as one of the top 100 fighters to of ever lived in Chinese history!!!

  • what is wu tai chi good for?

  • For everything! ;-)

  • @RiCANReBeL23 It's good with brussel sprouts. wtf do you think it's good for?

  • he got chunks on^^!

  • i would like to start wu style of tai chi... can i simply reproduce those position or i must learn with a master?

  • This is just sooo beutiful - seriously. I am a yang style pratitioner myself and I don`t know anything about Wu style but it just looks awesome. 5 Stars! :)

  • his shoes just make me laugh =)

  • His Centre and Body Alignment is perfect.....

  • real masters ....wear coverse. lol.

  • @SevenhillsProduction real masters can spell converse

  • hmm are there more then one styles of wu tai chi? There's two right?

  • Yes.

The first is the Wu Yu-hsiang lineage, which is also sometimes called "Wu/Hao" style.

The second is the Wu Ch'uan-yu lineage, which is the more common of the two, and is simply known as the "Wu" style tai chi.

  • very goog

  • Master Jesse Tsao is a great teacher inspiring by his superb performance and by his complex and free stile of teaching.

  • lol at his shoes

  • this is cool but the first thing i noticed was his converses, lol

  • good Wu style

  • omg hes in converse! 0.0

  • I think i never got this right...

Is Wu Tai Chi the same as Wudang Tai Chi?

  • No, but the basics (the important stuff) is always the same, despite of different styles or even other internal martial art systems

  • nah... Wu dang refers to the mountains of the Taoist priests who also trained in martial arts. Wu style tai chi is of family origin... just as Yang style and Chen style. there are many others but these three and of course Wu Dang are the most prominent

  • Comment removed

  • I said Wu style taichi! you nitwit! as in the name Wu i.e. Wu Fei Long. there is Wu style taichi, NOT wudang taichi.... you're an idiot

  • is it really worth getting angry over? doesn't it just tire you out?

  • Nah... there is no anger. Just this TaiChiTex was flapping his gums about how high and mighty he is with is extensive background, and i just noticed coming back to reply to you that he has deleted all the nasty little things he said towards me, in fear of ruining his humble status! LOL

  • People like TaiChiTex are very typical. The unnecessary crap he said, then goes back and deletes it. If fear people will see the true person he really is. Putting on a front his whole life, all I did was let him open up a bit and show his true colors. But since he has deleted all his comments, guess no one will ever know his childish ways and egotistical rampage, as evident by the thumbs down he gave my comments. Which I never gave or took away kudos for his comments. why did he delete them, odd

  • i'm sorry but Wu Dang martial arts is one of the most porminent in the world of martial arts. who died and proclaimed you all knowing?

  • Comment removed

  • i never said Tai Chi is from WuDang. i said the most prominate styles are those of the different Tai chi styles Wu, Chen and Yang and of cours Wu Dang. wow! you really are a prick aren't you!

  • I've also been training for many years myself. Kajukembo though, and capoeira... i've trained a bit of Qigong and TaiChi from a friend of mine who is actually of the Wu style, he's name is Wu Fei Long and right now trains with cirque de soleil.

  • seems like your trying to back pedal for sounding like a jerk. dont cast your own misunderstandings on to me... i was answering someones question, to the reason he's confused about Wu style taichi and Wu Dang is cause they are both well known. but i never said they were the same did i? nope... and now here you are!!! amazing how humble and respectful you aren't!!! HAHAHA!

  • Good form, easy to follow. Thanks!

  • The movements are very flowing and calm.He must be a master of many years

  • what does it work on ? inner power ?

  • sweet. taichi master wears converse sneakerzz XD

  • HAHAHAHHAHAHAHHAHA XD

  • the last straw was when we were in the natatorium taking karate and we were waiting on a student. i could sense when he opened the door of the building and i said "oh here's tyrone, he just entered the building" and everyone turned and looked at me. 2 minutes later he comes into the room and again everyone looked at me. i was like ... uggg gotta stop reading that manual.

  • Hi what manual were you studying? I am interested. Thanks.

  • i'll have to look it up you're the 2nd person to ask. it looked fairly common and had a green cover. i think i researched the master and he seemed legit. i remember like the first several chapters went into detail about philosophy instead of form.

  • What was the manual primarily about? I.E. Taiji, Qigong?

  • i would certainly be interested in this text, if you would please

  • i was studying a manual on my own. tell me if this has happened to you. the manual went into very detailed spiritual awakening. I did all the exercises for that part. when i started the form itself i started "noticing" things more. at first i thought it was just a curiosity but then... I could tell when people entered the building, I could sense people moods from a distance.

it freaked me out and i quit immediately.

  • Whats it called? Seems interesting.

  • You Freak! I thought I was the only one who noticed the Chulks! LMCO!! Anyways... I've always wanted to concentrate more in my chi. But everytime I reach a good concentration point and begin to exert great amounts of energy I loose Focus. I need a training partner. Any masters out there? contact me please..

  • Stop trying so hard. Maintain the focus, rather than trying to manifest intent. The intent will manifest itself. The energy will flow more with persistent practice.

  • well said!

  • nice forms

    and shoes

  • Thank You !

I though I was the only one who noticed that the master was performing Wu Taijiquan with Converse Shoes on !!!

    LOL

  • I have been doing Yang Style 24 short form Taiji for 8 years. I was instructed by my friend. I only wish I can meet someone with the same taiji style who is a master so I can reach the level of master so I can help people with Taiji

  • I'm practicing Taichi and it's really beautiful.

  • Mwahahah!! he's wearing converese!

    lol

but he's really good at concetrating his energy!

  • What is the purpose of that movements?

    I wonder how..

  • Each movement relates to a health benefit. For example, Sqatting Single Whip, or; Snake Creaps through grass help to open the pelvic bone area. As you sink, the blood circulation inceases. This in turn helps with better bodily posture and increased white cell blood count and circulation through the body itself.

  • Ahhh.... I see..

    Tnx..

  • Hmmmm........

    Ok, I knew..

    ^________^

  • I hope I was correct....I know very little about healt applications but I know enough to pass on

  • Ahhhhh.......

  • Apparently one of the deadliest martial arts when used to fight

  • I agree. when I was in the second year of my Taiji, my friend, who was disturbing me in my concentration; ended up on the end of a single whip. I had no idea who owned the hand upon my shoulder and when I turned around I ended up pushing my friend across the gymnasium. I fel so terrible! I had told my friend John that when I do Taiji it is best to not disturb me as I go into a state of trance...we still joke abou that to this day

  • sifu tsao, good news!! tai chi is now compulsery at my school!! (wich is odd cause i live in australia?) it probably wont include the martial art aspect but still,

    from jesse

  • Sorry, for asking and point this put, but is the Sifu wearing chucks/converses ?!

  • Flat soles make them a popular shoe with the tai chi crowd. If you look at the Feiyue sneakers (what shaolin monks wear), they are very similar. canvas with a rubber sole. the flat sole helps you to root and balance when doing the movements, as opposed to say running sneakers with the arch, makes it unstable. :-)

  • I did Tai Chi for some time and indeed it helps alot with your balance relaxation, I always felt sumhow relaxed and ready to take on my day after it. I think the whole video is great including the black AllStars;) I'll be visiting the channel more often :)

  • Is it me or is his left foot slightly...off?

  • i wish that some1 will teach me Tai Chi... but im from Lithuania... :(

  • google it.. and you might find something near you.. you can also try to find something like qigong..

  • I agree. There is somthing about the chinese culture that is aluring and peacefull and meaningful. I just wish that I could find a good teacher to help me refine my skills.

  • I love this video and agree on the postures and chi flow. I have been doing Yang Tai Chi for 8 years and it has help me over come an injury and acid reflux. I recommend Tai Chi to anyone.

  • Nice to know your experience in Tai Chi! I wish Tai Chi can be a bridge to connect Chinese culture with the world!

  • Tai chi is nessecry for anybody who wants to learn a martial arts. Tai chi help regulate bodys internal chi and let it evenly flow into differents part of the body. I do tai chi every morning to help with my martial arts. I recomend anybody who wants to learn martial art to learn how to do tai chi.

  • Thank you Vietboi001 for your understanding! Yes, Tai Chi is a very good cross training with other martial arts!

  • @Vietboi001 Yes...the creator must be really good

  • @Vietboi001 Thank God!!! Someone who doesn't compare Tai-Chi to MMA and realizes that it actually has good principles and fundamentals to other martial arts!

Tip my hat to you, sir... if I had one.

  • just gotta got them all stars!! :D

  • Awesome display of internal control, posture, breathing, and flow of chi...

    Thank You..

    b

  • How in hell's unholy name can you see if his breathing and internal control are good, you're just trying to look cool lmfao --> You fail.

  • i dont get it is this a fight sport? yes ore no?

  • Tai Chi is a combination of self-defense and healing art. The practice is slow and the application will be fast.

  • yes tai chi is very much a fighting sport

it can also be used as a health and healing purposes. using the inner body chi,

  • The way it is taught in the west has labotomised its applicable purposes.

To see it in its Martial Genius go to Wudang Mountain and look for a Monestary

  • @Hajounn NO. tai chi is a skill, not a sport. It was not developed to fight, it was developed to be healthy and strong.

  • @DanishButterCookies2 actually you can use it to fight but it has alot of health benefits since it requires breathing and works out the hips and other parts of your body

  • bine chimcampu

  • dang that dudes wearing Chucks lol... thats cool I never saw anyone do that while doin this...

  • he wearing converse!!! lol props to that guy i wish i had time to learn tai chi or somewhere to learn it

  • well, whenyou some up stuff like youtube, maybe pubs, or a cinemamovie and similar there might be sparetime you can "sacrifice" to learn tai chi. also there are training dvds so you can work at home for only ten minutes if you dont want to give time to go into training (even I think personal contact and advice is most healthy, it is most healthy to do something instead of doing nothing right ^^) have a nice day.

  • My advice would not be to use dvd's or such.

You do need a teacher, especially when you start practising.

  • dude is wearing "chucks" wtf?

  • i wear chucks and practice Tai Chi too, what does it matter??? can't see the forest for the shoes....

  • Can you recommend any Tai Chi teachers in Portland, OR?

  • i do tai chi at school and it is very benificial for you and it started at about 913 bc and is about calmness and how to fight in a proper ancient battle.

  • its not about the fight... its about the energy

  • When i was doing it at gymclass at school it was so much fun but this is too boring..

  • Watching is always more boring than actually doing. Its the same with Baseball or golf.

  • sure thats why this vids are here to learn from right ^^ even I am sure I did not really learn proper tai chi it helped to relax muscles and do better kicks and energyexperiences.. too bad people judge only from the eye and not from the experience.

  • im serious. a day i was practicing tai chi chuan cheng style and over 8:00pm night i was practicing the Zen meditation in the darkness suddenly a little sparks flowing from my hands. i felt as if were nothing impossible to me. since then, for another reasons i left practicing tai chi. but i think that is time to begin again.

  • yeah, fcourse ! same happened to me, but not while practicing thai chi.. i think the sparks more came from the campfire my hand was in o,o

  • Es absolutamente fantástico, hace varios años que practico tai chi y no logro semejante equilibrio y elongación.

  • Im sure this all pays off in a fight.

  • how many family styles are there for tai chi?

  • Five major tai chi styles, Chen, Yang, Wu, Hao, Sun.

  • Yeah same here, gotta love them chucks.

  • what's his name?

  • Google the name Jesse Tsao. A very nice guy with good energy!

  • This is very good. Not my style but I did a number of seminars with Wu style master. He was tiny guy but you could not pay me enough to try to punch him. He was blindingly fast with lots of internal power. I can see the coiling power in this man. Watch his sword form - very highly skilled!!

  • guys seriously stop bahing this guy, he is a master. seriously i read up about him. he is devoted to his art and really, he is probably better than anyone in the western hemisphere err something.

  • agreed, I feel sorry for all those brainless who don't respect the chinese culture.

  • lol

  • lmao first thing i saw was the all star converse sneakers lmaooo gangsturr

  • Most of you have managed to miss the whole point and concentrate completly on his shoes. Intresting.

  • It's amazing how something can look so simple and be so incredibly difficult.

  • hahaha!!!! thats funni tai che with chuksss lol, thats gangster!

  • cool

  • lol converse

  • hmm i didnt see you do the brush and push technique , ya i'm learning tai chi..

  • Wii otro latino !! xD hey este Maestro es demasiado amable le envie un correo y tuvo la paciencia de responder !! :D , lo admiro mucho espero q siga subiendo videos !!

  • This is a cool vid. Before this, I never really understood much about all of this, but this looks kinda cool. Thanks for gettin it. 5/5

  • The Young Warrior Wears Converse i See

  • Gotta love the Chuck Taylor's.

  • Very traditional (original) Northern Wu style, not the contemporary Hong Kong style. Thank you!!!

  • 2 wu styles. Wu Yuxiang (1812-1880) or Wu Jianquan (1870-1942)?

  • and taikiken i'm sure of that

  • great! all K1 fan should know how much Andy Hug enjoyed to practice tai ji quan

  • Tai Chi Chuan,or Grand Ultimate Fist is a wonderful art that I have truly come to love, and I believe that this video shows great techniques and the true meaning of Martial Arts all in general. Self Defense without straining the body. That is my view on the situation. Great Video,5/5

  • I think all styles were created during self discovering and "deeper" feeling of your own body through relaxation of different parts of it. The relaxed body feels healthy and full of inner strength. Then this relaxation gives the opportunity for a lot faster movements which used for self defense later on were developed into martial arts, based on this inner force of relaxation. So I think first people didn't think of hurting smo else, instead of feeling well in their own body...

  • Tai Chi is the 'Supreme Ultimate Force.' You obviously have no concept of the meaning. Do your research before you ridicule.

  • I didnt know it was also Supreme Ultimate Force, thanks for letting us know. =) I always knew it as Grand Ultimate Fist.

  • he's actually completely right. while Tai Chi did become about relaxation and health, it comes directly from ancient gong fu, and there still remain today a few styles of Tai Chi that are combat applicable. in fact, all of these moves are based on countering certain imaginary attacks. and no, the first martial arts were meant to KILL. the Greeks invented the first martial art, and people frequently died during the Olympic matches.

  • FYI, that's Chinese music in the background, in case you couldn't figure it out. Quite fitting for the martial arts he is demonstrating.

Additionally, Tai Chi is one of the most deadly forms of martial arts. If you don't believe me, then do some research before you try to disrespect this form of martial arts.

  • nice shoes :P

  • I gave tai chi up. there's too much claptrap and mystical bollix spouted about it. I've trained with the winner of 5 gold medals in chinese competiton and I practised under one of his main students for 5 years and learned nowt about kung fu. don't bother . Wing chun is by far the most practical and interesting chinese system and has a pragmatic approach which will handle any opponent. I've learned more about martial arts in 2 years wing chun than in all my previous years' practice.

  • so maybe thats why you dont find tai chi interesting, because your only interested in the combat applications... most martial arts (or, the older ones anyway) were not invented as a means of fighting. they were used for health and whatnot. just my 2 cents...

  • nonsense. Tai chi chuan means grand ultimate fist. Tai chi is a combat system which has been watered down in the west into a load of new age claptrap by people who don't know the difference between king fu and bloody yoga. all martial arts were invented as combat systems. I would have thought that the word 'martial' in the name would give you a clue. You are the kind of numpty who has ruined tai chi.

  • I'm thinking about trying Tai Chi, but serious question: is it boring to do it for more than 10 minutes? I don't want to waste money on lessons if all you do is wave your arms around :)

  • In early stages it's quite a physical workout, after practice you begin to feel the energy flows and that is not boring :)

  • Although... I'm alittle confused about Tai Chi personally; I know most lessons are about "Tai Chi" as a dance movement and not a Martial Art, even though it was originally suppost to be one.

Is it really usefull as a Martial Art?

  • Tai chi is a devastating martial art. Take a look at my channel for some examples.

My guess is that only 1% of teachers actually know how to USE tai chi.

  • oh! my god I don't know what he is showing ? chen style or realy wu style

  • There are certain degree of similarity among different styles of Tai Chi. For this clip, I think it is more like a Wu than Chen style.

  • If you want to see real Wu style type in:

Wu Ying Hwa Wu taichi long form

  • as graceful and beautiful thai chi is it seems onlt to be an art form and a mental game i respect all the opinions of others but i believe that thai chi is at best an art form and not very practical as say muay thai or jui jitsu thank you have a good day

  • If you are referring to tai chi (also spell it right.... it is in the title) as in these slow sets then you are incorrect. These slow sets are designed to build breath. If used in actual form it would be fast. However, whatever you get here in the states is most likely not tai chi and only a simplified version used for its health form..... lazy Americans (im Canadian but hey we are kinda lazy too)

  • i watched the tai chi fight between the masters recently and i do agree that it is rather gracefull and fast all i was refering to was that it is not a practical style. you dont really see it used in fighting :) good day

  • Actually, you don't see it used in fighting. I've seen it used in fighting plenty.

  • people who get into fights are generally stupid, headstrong or a whole list of things which i personally consider negative traits, tai chi masters are usually devoid of such traits and therefore you wont ever see one in a fight.

  • haha hes wearing converse. anyway type in nin cutting fingers, its a ninjutsu hand signs to relax fingers

  • Another question:

What is the move - whole upper body bented down with a semi-cicle motion? I do not see Tai Chi principle in this move? Please help.

    All Best,

  • I have couple questions (Student level):

    1. Why is the single whip in double weighted?

    2. Why during the back step with high press the upper body leaning forward?

    3. Why the palm is flat ad fingles are opened?

Sorry for the interruption, please help for my questions.

    Best,

  • double weighted means: double yang or double yin. both legs stand doesn't mean it is doulbe weight. energy is in the lower end and light at the upper body. it is all the using the mind.

the leaning actual extend the projectile of the dan tien. it has an effect of elogating your opponent and press

  • Duh! wouldn't you be wearing shoes aswell? he is on sand after all, i like the tai chi and oriental melodies, they're awesome, not ba movment either, definitely worth the watch!!

  • i like his shoes. you shallow bastards.:) hes got some good energy. must have some good teachers. cool dude w. his sneakers. right on.

  • LMFAO he's wearing converses

  • im joining tai chi class when i start middle school next month

  • i love this style

  • Not bad. Northern Wu very similar to Wu style.
