It's Amazing how this was scary as hell back then, I remember as a kid this movie scared me, but now with all of the improvements we have on FX, this movie looks like child's play, some of the younger kids wont look at this as a "groundbreaking movie" since these type of films were VERY taboo back in the 60s/70s. now we have SAW and a bunch of other films that owe a lot to movies like this one. You have to give it up for this movie Along with Blood Feast to start off the genre of Splatter Films

This movie probably had about the same budget as the original Texas Chainsaw Massacre. The difference in these films though, and why the latter is excellent while this is just dumb, is that they used their budget more effectively, avoiding those overly obvious shots that they couldn't back up. This film couldn't do that.. oh well.
