Today being Pearl Harbor Day, this story applies. My uncle Cas was in the 78th Pursuit Squadron based at Wheeler Field on Oahu, near Pearl Harbor. It was the first place Japanese air forces attacked on 7 Dec. 1941. Cas had the day off. He was waiting at a bus stop on his base that morning. Someone was playing this very Ink Spots 1941 song at the time, he could hear it coming out of a window of the barracks he was close to. He saw the planes coming in, and then all hell broke loose.
That is an awesome story, thank you for sharing that. We are the ones who have to tell these stories now because almost all of these great men and women are gone.
Just for the chance of a apocalypse scenario, a group of my friends and myself are making detailed plans on how we would live as pirates with a zeppelin (which we have been designing and pricing,) floating over the wasteland.
@TheArtistOfKuroo sounds like a nice plan, but be sure to have places to go on the ground, u never know when u will need to land and refuel etc. do you have a name for your organization?
I have always been partial to the song used in Dr. Strangelove to play out the world, "We'll Meet Again" by Vera Lynn. The two are very similar songs in that they are both perfect to have an apocalypse by. Something about the innocence and nostalgia in them... oh well.
@artfd my great grandfather was one of the only ones to escape the Arizona he was washing the deck when some of those dive bombers the ship next to him and the shockwave flung him off the deck
Timeless absolutely timeless

Mooi heel mooi..... iets wat me opvalt; de stem van deze zanger, maar ook het type begeleiding erachter heeft heel veel weg van Elvis!!
