@MishuTaste It's probably hundreds of kilometres/miles away. You have to be careful not to run out of fuel. Of course there would be a few 'gas stations', or as we call them, 'petrol stations', in Alice Springs.

I think it's usually something pissy like 110km/h (~70mph) like the rest of Australia in most of the outback. In the Northern Territory though (Alice Springs is in the NT) it's 130km/h (80mph) I think (they've only recently introduced a speed limit unfortunately).
