Man, I've been listening to the same tool songs over and over, sometimes 3-5 times a day, every day. Now my addiction is TooL covers. I've been a fan for quite sometime and just recently did I discover the pleasures of TooL covering Peach

it depends really i suppose there is a set meaning in each song that needs both intelligence and a wide aspect of knowledge to understand. it just depends how far you wanna look into it really. put it this way maynard wrote the lyrics to say something, and at one point in time we all percieved what he was projecting at the time unintended or not that is the meaning.
I believe Maynard has no love for religion. Wings for Marie is about his mother becoming disabled from an aneurysm and not being able to travel the world like she wanted to, and her recurring dreams of being lifted into the sky and flying to see the world.
And why would he be religious? Where was god when she was suffering? She suffered for 28 years (which happens to be around 10,000 days, actually) before she died from complications of the aneurysm.

I would guess it was tool because the triplets on the drums are very danny carey like. I cant really hear the guitar that well but it sounds more tool-y than apc-y. ITs hard to tell with a cover though

@grogmonster69 I agree. People look at maynard like hes the smartest man on earth or some god but hes just a talented pretentious asshole. I enjoy his singing and creativity but he has managed to start a whole movement of pretentious fans who think they are enlightened about life because they find a meaning in tool songs. Tool songs dont have a set meaning so that means any meaning is right which doesn't quite make you smart now does it.

it depends really i suppose there is a set meaning in each song that needs both intelligence and a wide aspect of knowledge to understand. it just depends how far you wanna look into it really. put it this way maynard wrote the lyrics to say something, and at one point in time we all percieved what he was projecting at the time unintended or not that is the meaning.

I believe Maynard has no love for religion. Wings for Marie is about his mother becoming disabled from an aneurysm and not being able to travel the world like she wanted to, and her recurring dreams of being lifted into the sky and flying to see the world.
And why would he be religious? Where was god when she was suffering? She suffered for 28 years (which happens to be around 10,000 days, actually) before she died from complications of the aneurysm.

I would guess it was tool because the triplets on the drums are very danny carey like. I cant really hear the guitar that well but it sounds more tool-y than apc-y. ITs hard to tell with a cover though

Where I might not like the way the Churches do down here in the South, I still can't bring myself to dislike Christians.

Its sit-and-stand rules that are man-made, mostly, and have to do with us feeling good-enough, while totally neglecting the truth of who God is, and what God thinks, and even what is really in the Bible. I feel for Maynard, and can kind of relate, but he was introduced to Christianity by hypocrites, and became an antichrist. Its a shame.

Sure there are times when he seemed like an asshole but I think he wants us to understand this as he does. I don't think there will be one anti-christ figure, but many. Also there will be many of the christ-figure. A lot of us may go through that 'anti-christ' phase, and it's up to ourselves to rise above it, and become a christ figure. In other words, just be good.

I myself battle to be accepting to everyone but the bible does not contradict itself, It is my own inability to correct my wrong doings which like myself and many other Christians fall short.
