besides a lot of the 80's music was dying before grunge hit it was already done it ran it's course 10 or 12 years grunge came and went it died quickly and every time some band put's out a album now they want to call it grunge that is bullshit grunge died a long time ago besides some 80's stuff is coming back so it must have not been that bad

This was never intended to be a remake of a movie, it was a straight music video. Second, this was a DP recording from 1990 which brought a whole new sound to what DP was playing in the 80's. Thirdly, DP was rather proud of how the 80's recordings turned out.. Deep Purple sounding like WS? No fucking way!! Even though I like WS and Coverdale, there is just no way both bands ever came close to sounding the same. Dude, you have to take your head out of your ass when you listen to music, period.
