  • I'm atheist and i love Manowar!

  • Well in the original video you could saw Loki riding a horse wagon with svastikas on the wheels. Well must been not so funny for youtube ^^

  • @RedBlackAlucarD I thought the swastika was associated with Thor and Odin

  • @MithgarthWorm the swastika is an asian symbol for luck

  • @Malanthar I'm not talking about the swastika as an asian symbol, but the swastika of the germanic ion age. It is probable that, in their video, manowar were referring to the swastika as a symbol of Mjollnir rather than as a symbol for luck or nazism.

  • @Krasler100 Go away u asshole listen jb kid

  • I love this cover...

    BOOBIES!

  • is it just me or the solo on this one sounds a lot like megadeth?

  • description:

A good song, from Manowar. ^^

Hey dude, there isn't any BAD song from Manowar :D

  • Out of all the Norse gods Loki is the best! He is the only one out of that dull lot that knows how to have fun.

  • @Ch3rryB4by

    Right. Sources please.

I'm inclined to believe you, perhaps, but I have so many conflicting sources that I require you to cite your sources if you want me to agree.

  • 0.14 its bret "the hitman" hart :L

  • @stephennathan Theres no similarity to the wrest :-)

  • Loki's original name is Loke :D

  • @BubblyNinjaFart Actually it's Loki in old norse, other epithets are luftaren, trixaren and vargfader

  • @JakobiaP ehm, im a Norwegian.. we are teached this in class. Dont question me..

  • @BubblyNinjaFart And I'm Swedish, and I know my old norse (Fornnordiska) and it's Loki in old norse, even though its Loke in Swedish and Norwegian, look it up if you want

  • @JakobiaP Think about Loke and Loki being the same person, but the location being the difference.

    Oden

    Odin

    Wotan.

    Smart cookie.

  • @Vaan40Productions

Not Wotan, but WODAN (germany tribes god of war)

  • @Faustusful Aha, yes, Wodan is another term for Wotan. :)

  • I wouldnt ever hail Loki, he is the God of disorder

  • I used to think Metallica was the only heavy metal I'd ever need to listen to, until I discovered Manowar. How ignorant and wrong I once was.

  • Wow!! Bad ass song.=)

  • If u really listen to the lyrics and if u know even a littlebit of norse mythology, then u would know that Loki is not the ruler of hell, hel is the true ruler and that hes not a giant nor is he brother of odin. Loki is the "adopted" son of odin. Loki is half giant and half Aeisr.

  • @TheConn0r you have obviously watched Thor... Loki is Hel's, Fenrir's and Jörmungandr's father... he is a shapeshifter, yes but he helps and hinders the Aesir gods... and don't bother posting arguments... im a norse pagan so yano... dont argueor u get an axe in ur back :)

  • @117Sniperlord117 a norse pagan? So you mean you're both incredibly gay and under the age of 20?

  • @demonicspire1 Lol epic pwn.

  • @demonicspire1 escuse me im actually 21 and engaged to a woman, who ive been with since ive been 16... and ive been a pagan all mylife, same with her.... so that fucked you over.

  • @117Sniperlord117 guess pagans have no sense of obvious obvious troll is obvious

  • @117Sniperlord117 also he is sleipnir's father to

  • @117Sniperlord117 It's hillarious how "Thor" had Lokes mother be a man

  • @TheConn0r Actually Loki's daughter Hel is the ruler of Hel, and Loki is a giant, check your sources

  • On description is not a good song... its a gods song!!

    Manowar gods of metal

  • GOD OF DIRE INTO THE SKY!!!!! AND HAIL FROM GREECE!!!!!!

  • Bye bye, Slipknot...Bye bye, Metallica...Bye bye, Cradle of Filth...goodnight to all of you...Manowar kill.

  • This is awesome! Great song! And my poodle's name is Loki! :D

  • I'm a Christian, and i think this music is awesome. and i think there is a valhalla sector/district in heaven for those who die in glorious combat.

  • @TheByrdWhoLovesRock That is stupid. You cant Christianize Valhalla, fuck off. You've already purged us of so many things and if you think like that I wish you the worst of things.

  • @Robbi159 That wasn't very nice of you to say at all. Can't I have my own opinion? I'm not asking you to think the same as me, I'm just stating my opinion of something. But if that's the way you want to respond, good day to you sir.

  • @TheByrdWhoLovesRock You're silly :)

  • @Robbi159 I try to be, argguing on the web isn't worth it, you know?

  • @TheByrdWhoLovesRock Indeed it is but knowing how to spell arguing is well worth it in my opinion.

  • @Robbi159 School's out, don't have to think about those kinds of things too much.

  • @TheByrdWhoLovesRock So you care about spelling only because of public school? To hell with school! If we wouldn't have a standards of spelling, there would be more confusion in writing and it would be harder to comprehend literary material, such as this comment on YouTube.

  • @xXvolhvXx I agree that it would be more confusing, but at the moment, I'm taking a break from all that stuff, at least until my sister and I have an intelligent discussion on something. Probably not gonna happen because we're random.

  • @TheByrdWhoLovesRock Uh, I honestly don't know what that has to do with your sister. Lost you there, dude.

  • @xXvolhvXx Yeah, I know, like I said, random.

  • @Ch3rryB4by but it was prophesized that he would cause ragnarok

  • Come on people... who cares about what faith is the good one. Just believe in what you feel, and let go of the rituals, that make you nothing more than a slave. Be enlightened, and make your own path, with your beliefs deep into your heart and soul. Faith is a feeling, not an action. (From a random christian person).

  • @MyHonorQuest wrong it should be (from a random REAL christian person) rare to find one of those but when you do they are always good to hangout with

  • Heil Loki

  • Lovely little fast-paced one here!

Eric sounds very like Rob Halford on this one, in classic Priest days :-)

  • MANOWAR Rules !! =D

  • i wouldn't want to pick a fight with ManoWar .. they would kick my ass :/

  • is it just me or does this song seem a little inaccurate

  • @Ch3rryB4by

Oh... Thankyou so much! Because I always thought he was what most people call Loki the God of Mischief... l0l. well thanks :)

  • @Ch3rryB4by noooo proven wrong by another girl >_<

  • @Ch3rryB4by

Just my thoughts, Uhmm,, isn't Loki the God of Mischief??? Cause I just went and saw the new movie Thor (Great movie btw) and got all interested in Mythical Legend and so on..... But yeah, and Thor is the God of Thunder I believe right??? Just wondering, because I have heard some people say Loki IS the God of Fire, but then again I've heard other people say he is The God of Mischief, which is what I truly believe he is, but idk..... :I

  • @Ch3rryB4by

Loki is god of fire, he is not just god of mischeif. Manowar is actually very acurate to Norse mythology

  • Lokie is the father of Hel, the ruler of the underworld. The Christians got their word for "hell" from the Poetic Eddas, by Snorri Sturlsson, a Christian monk.

  • @drevildruid

English Christains, you mean. Other Chistians used Hades from Greek Mythology, or occasionally some variation of Inferno.

  • i thought he was the god of hell

  • @ForzaAquila

i don't really imagine a God as the leader for hell, cuz isn't a God mainly this nice god person.... god.... l0l. Anyways I don't think Loki is the God of Hell, he's just, different, a mythical legend.... well in my opinion he is. But anyways I don't want to get into a whole religious debate about this, I'm just saying I don't believe he is "The God of Hell" You know... idk.... l0l..... -.- (yes I'm a stupid 14 year old, so I don't know 4 sure but yeah.... uhmmm...... wutevr..l0l)

  • @wesleyluvr9 ooookkk i'm going to stop and remain amazed by the fact that a 14 year old girl listens to metal kudos to you

  • @ForzaAquila

l0l, i like other genres too, pop, rap, ect. I'm open to pretty much any music but Justin Bieber.... T_T (no offense but he's a FAG.

  • @wesleyluvr9 double kudos xD

  • @ForzaAquila

    ty :]

  • now all suckers watched the movie start to look manowar songs.. fucking posers

  • a "good" song?weakling!

    this is EPIC!

  • @Ch3rryB4by In some Eddas ( Norse Tales) Loki is not the God Of Fire but an 1.entity whocan dominate control Fire!! By the way Loki isnt god of anything... He's more like a Demigod....!!!

  • @warluso hes a god of fire, a god and a jötunn... sometimes even a god of mischeif and evil... so hes a lot of everything

  • @warluso no, he is a god, both a asa and a thurs. For the asatru today he is a god. What Edda did you read? I would like to check out where it says Loke is not a god. Oden made him a god and a brother, and maybe more ;)

  • FUCK SLEEVES

  • i think this song just burned down a house down the street where i live

  • Brother to thor

    And odin god of war

    Loki god of fire

    Reigns for evermore

  • Rip Scott Columbus ²

  • RIP Scott Columbus... .

  • To Odin, he's a brother. A brother who is fly!

  • @theeducatedfool i think they say "A brother who is sly

  • Loki is my fav norse god :D

  • @altdoom615 Me too! He's awesome xD Loki always manages to make me laugh. The other gods don't know how to have fun =P

  • @altdoom615

I'm with you all the way! :)

  • Manowar rule the world of metal! freetubemusic(dot)com

  • He was only half giant and god of fire is not fully known as true as their r a few diff. references to the anthropology of the word Lokasanna... it is left up to the individual to search within himself the answer that he/she fully feels comfortable with.. In Asatru their is not one true word... it is what u get from the interpretation and connection with ur Gods/ess'

  • @bitboxs Lokesenna is a poem about Loke's verbal conflict with the other gods at Ægir's feast where Loke reminds the gods of all their various vices and flaws and has nothing to do with from where he originated..

And Ymer-gravel-yeller was a giant, a jǫtunn from the primeval times.

I know there are different disputes about whether two gods were originally one and the same and where exactly some of the other gods originated like Heimdallr but Loke's family tree is written down clearly.

  • Manowar is an awesome band and I love their songs! \\m// But how did they ever get into their heads that Loke is a god of fire? He has nothing to do with fire what so ever!

  • @MiKhAiL0vIcH There is a school of thought that Loki is the God of fire. he is also not the brother of Odin...He is also the mother of Sleipnir (took the form of a mare)

  • @animematt Its a school of thought that Loke is the god of fire? I dunno which country they teach u that in cuz i've never heard anything like it before maybe cuz its not true? prolly some kinda new wave bullshit...

  • @MiKhAiL0vIcH well Loki the wolf-father is called the god of fire because he whas born from fire

  • @sveinn95 I dont know where u ppl get taught about the northern gods but thats not right.. Loke was the son of Farbaute and Laufey who descended from Ymer who was the founder of the race of frost giants.

  • @MiKhAiL0vIcH i don't think there was full agreement and doctrinal unity in the folk religions....

  • @Dadutta I dunno where ur from and what u believe in but in the old scandinavia the gods left us rune markings on stones which have been found over the yeas of our history about what happened and what is about to happen so where u come from there might have be these disputes because of the lack of historical findings but when it comes to the old family trees of the gods there never have been any doubts about that and especially not about Loke.

  • @sveinn95 he was born when lightning (Farbaute) strikes earth (Laufey) and Loke is the fire caused by lightning on the ground. He wasn't born from fire, he is fire, he was born from lightning. It is very interesting to see the connection between Farbaute and Tor though... And Laufey and Tors mother Jord (=Earth)

  • @RavenOrca Farbaute and Laufey was two giants and Laufey's name means tree, not earth.

  • @sveinn95

I thought Loki was the God of Mischief...? Because I just saw the new movie Thor, and in the movie it talked about Loki being an orphaned baby "Iceman" or something like that (can't quite remember the name of the race) and that Odin, father of Thor took pity on him as a child and adopted him as his son...? Idk, just my thoughts.....

  • @wesleyluvr9 they are the jotuns they are the the decendeans of Ymir and loki is the Mischief but in nores myth he is Odin's bloodbrother (but no one knows how) there whas allot skiped in the move and allot of things where not right but still it whas an awsome move

  • @sveinn95 it was left out of the movie because the movie was based on the marvel comic Thor-not the Norse myths. I'm an American Norseman and i grew up with alot of the myths of my people i was hopeing to see more of them in the movie, but as a fan of the comic i enjoyed it for what it was, even tho they missed alot of the comic too.

  • @justinsbaby159 i am an Icelander and i am thinking of joining the asatru (the religion for the Norse gods) tho only 1% iceland still do belive them

  • @sveinn95 Its sad that we forget our history.I have some understanding of the Asatru as a religion, for many years I studied "american"witchcraft-thought I focused on the Norse gods I was taught to pray to "goddess" but I choose to give my praying to All Father, his knowledge and insight I need, and also to Gefjun and to Frigg My husband is christian and for him i converted but i rember the tales of old and i look to them with fondness and love To you Sveinn, I say lykke til many blessings to you

  • @justinsbaby159 i am christian but every time i hear or read about our old gods the more i feel conections to them and i am thinking of joining to asatru and may u have the same blessing

  • many thanks. I am christan but i am thinking of joning the asatru every time i hear or read about the old gods i feel so much conaction to them

  • @sveinn95 you know you can practice more than 1 religons im nondonomanational and asatru

  • Comment removed

  • @sveinn95

    There's a reason for that. ;)

  • @sveinn95

you are 15 years odl. it's obvius that you are "connected" with all what is ANTI. Look, you are christian too. gosh... agnosticizm is better way for you, until you grow up.

  • @Sick2Destroy i think i can belive what i want and this is kinda not your business so why the heck are u telling me what to belive ?

  • @Sick2Destroy *sarcasticly* great, thats just what we need anouther religios asshole trying to ruin our music

  • @sveinn95 Thanks. There aren´t many christians accepting the pagans.

  • @sveinn95 same thing with me, beleive me, you wont regret it. even when i was a christian i had a hard time understanding the way they preach about kindness and acceptance and yet chris columbus with the mayans, chopping off their hands if they refused to convert, the burning of witches (why not forgive n forget?) but most of all the burning of pagan temples and slaughters of the northern people, again, if they refused to convert. Asatru is...tru :)

  • @sveinn95 You bet! Mythology and culture is orgasmic. From the other hand, there is a distinction between what you like and what you believe in. Thus, the fact that I'm an atheist doesn't prevent me from being fascinated by religion, and I even consider myself religious in a way (some peculiar way, mind you). But if you choose to call yourself Christian while feeling no passion for it at all, chances are that you're Christian only by title. See ya at Ragnarok, man. ;-)

  • @xXvolhvXx If I wasn't an Atheist I would definitely be norse-pagan

  • i primary adore Frey. I am pagan and wiccan, but Loki is funny guy in myth stories :)

  • @justinsbaby159 Couldn't you pray to both the Christian god and Norse gods? I've heard of people who practice more than one religion...

It's really none of my business, but it was just a thought. ^^; Have a nice day.~

  • 844 people are viking gods, while 28 people are retarded jotuns

  • this is one of my favorite manowar songs!!!

  • Its funny how you guys refer to The norse religion as myths i dont hear stories of Jesus being refered to as myths. Dont compare the norse to the christians as the dont compare well Judas was a fucking man not a God. Read something from pre Prosse Etta and get your facts right before flapping your tongues

  • @MrPoochiedog judas was a dick, loki was just doing what he is a trickster. who was compareing him to judas?

  • Comment removed

  • I think Loki is themost misunderstood god of the norse belief. Mainly because all that's survived of sacandanavian myth is what coincides with christianity. Of course we have to make Loki seem completely evil because to the christians he is the equivalent of Satan. Too bad This view is wrong when loki is released at the time of ragnarok It is to help fight not to be the enemy Thor dies thanks to the world serpent but the world serpent must be awakened to stop the xian plight.

  • @hailpazuzu he was just another trickster that got screwed by how we view things.

  • @hailpazuzu I agree that Loki is misunderstood, especially since we was a trickster and not evil in the sense of the word. Although, just a correction, at ragnarok Loki will fight with the jotnar against the gods. He and Heimdall will slay each other in combat.

  • 28 people died by the hand of loki ''the god of fire''

  • Manowar....always superb!!!!

  • yes Loki was the god of Fire and a trickster. and he didnt kill Baldr, he made Baldr's blind brother kill him.

  • sleipnir was odins mighty eight-legged stallion, which was stable in Asgard. It galloped faster than the wind and crossed all barriers. Sleipnir collected the souls of the warriors who fell in battle and took them to Valhalla, the hero of the residence.

  • @harri685

actually valkries came down from valhalla and took the fallen souls

  • loki was not the god of fire but awesome song any way =D

  • In fact, Loki's sons were turned into a wolf (Fenrir) and a serpent (Jörmungand)

The other wolves and snakes (as Managarm) are children of Fenrir and Jörmungand.

It is said that Fenrir and Managarm will eat the sun and the moon when the Ragnarök comes.

Loki will attack Asgard with the giants, his sons and his daughter (Hel) and die against Heimdal (However, Heimdal will die too)

  • @LoganEDB Sleipnir was his son too and then after Ragnarök Baldor i think (the one that Loki killed by making a Mistletoe arrow) will return and make a world of fire

  • Isn't Loki Thor's misanthropic brother? He does seem to have a cheeky side but not evil I believe.

  • @Vamphetamine NO LOKI IS EVIL HE KILLED BALDUR, HE HAS MANY SONS THAT ARE WOLVES AND SERPANTS AND WILL EVENTUALLY BRING ABOUT RAGNAROK

  • @assweaverproductions from the little i actually undersatnd of the norse gods... Loki may be considered evil, but ragnarok, while the end of the world, is considered by Odin to be neccsary for the world to be a better place... otherwise dont u think Loki would be slaughtered by the other gods... now his kids beign evil... yeah... cant blame the father for that. but he had sex with some weird things to get kids looking like that

  • @TheStormfury

Actually, his children (except Sleipnir) are all from Loki's wife, who is also a giant like Loki. I don't know what this says about giantish reproduction though, I mean, Giant + Giant = a giant sea serpent, a massve wolf, and a half-dead chick? Makes me wonder how giants are born...

  • @SorcerousWalrus maybe its cause loki can shapeshift

  • @SorcerousWalrus No, Loki's actual wife is Sigyn. Angurboda is just a demonic-like giantess-witch. I think(?) she is some manifestation of the Earth-Mother- not sure.

  • @SorcerousWalrus no, Loke had two wives, Angerboda (a giant, mother of Jörmundgandr, Hel and Fenris) and Sigyn (a asagoddess, mother of Nare and maybe Vale). And Loke is the mother of Sleipner.

  • @RavenOrca

Yes, but Loki bore no children with Sigyn, unless I am mistaken. Therefore my original comment is still valid.

  • @SorcerousWalrus according to Enoksen Loke has a son with Sigyn: Nare/Narfe, who is tranformed into a wolf, and is killed and the gods uses his guts to tie Loke to the rocksafter Lokesenna... a hard punishment to be tied by his own son´s guts.

And sorry, I was mistaking, Vale isn´t Sigyns son, he is the son of Loke but his mother is unknown.

  • Wooooaoaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!!!!!!!

    POWERFUL!

    POOOOOOOOOOOOOOOWEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEER!

  • to odin is a brotherrr!!!!god of fire!!!!burning higher1!!!!into the sky1!!!

  • HAHAHA!! Loki is toilet in Maltese! Great song though :-)

  • @malteserabroad Well, his true name is not Loki but Loke so

  • This is like the "evil" side of Odinism. It's a cool song!

  • @666Mjolnir Loki never struck me as evil or good... he's just Loki!

  • hehe thats the most correct thing i have hear about loki! :))"

    loki is just loki"

  • Odin instead of Jesus;) *POMMESGABEL:P*

  • Loki = No Honor.

I don't know why Manowar chose this particular nordic god to make a song about.

  • @ichbinderfuehrer why not, hes still a part of norse mythology..

  • @ichbinderfuehrer why not, hes still a part of norse mythology.. they also sing about vikings and shit. Vikings owning a city wasent very honorable was it? no. but it was AWESOME

  • Hail To Me. I Am God OF Fire, Mischief And Conflict.
