RipperCycroTron, how did you get yours to sound that good? Cause I have the same Jet King 2 and I also have a line6 Pod (the floor pod) but the bridge pickup on mine is alot bassier and lower output than yours (or atleast it really sounds like it). And on mine the coil taps just make it sound like a low output humbucker.
Question. Do you find the highest fret on the guitar to be hard to access because of the shape of the body? It looks like there is a lot of guitar to play over.
After looking at a load of vids of this guitar being played, I'm of the firm opinion that the original single coil pickups sound better than the awful humbuckers.
"However, I do not have the impression of thin neck." Haha, you obviousely haven't played too many vintage guitars than my friend. Next time your in guitar center pick up a Gibson 335 or a Gretch white falcon you'll get what I'm talkin bout. Haha, radius not to dis-similar to that of a baseball bat.
yup, the stock pickups do both of those well. however, they can get a little thin sometimes. hence the reason i am currently getting a seymour duncan model '59 put in the neck position of mine
well, yes and no. if the PU has four conductor wires coming out of it, yes, if you only have two, no. the '59, because it is a vintage style PU only has two, but what i'm going to do is turn the coil tap into a kill-switch. I'll be putting up a video of that in the next few days, let me know if you want to see it
i have the red and white jetking2. i have to say its one of the best guitar in its price range. specially with two build-in coil splitter and the super 58 neck pickup. but the tuners are really shit and they go out of tune in about a day.
I have the JTK1, found it in a pawn shop. the thing rocks. might upgrade the pups in the near future, but dang, for the $180 it costs me, it blows everything else that i had look at that was more expensive, out of the water...well...that is with the exception of my American Deluxe Strat
To follow up on Majesty188's comment, The body difference in shape is noticable, and they switched from Basswood on the Jetking 1 to Mahogany on the Jetking 2. An improvement for the better IMHO. The original Jetking 2 had 2 super 58 pickups, but they switched out the bridge 58 pickup for an IBZ AH2, which has no pickup cover and is arguably of less quality, though it should showcase the coil-tapping abilities of the guitar.
The difference between the JTK1 and 2 is mainly the headstock, some slight body differences including the pick gaurds and color options. I'm not sure what colors the JTK1 comes in but the JTK2 comes in the vintage sunburst with tortoise shell pick gaurds, and red and black with white pick guards and no pickup cover on the lower pickup next to the bridge
The buzz and distortion all depends on the amp and effect you use. It sounds great on my peavey, even though it's not a great amp. But, on clean, it sounds amazing.
I own a JTK2. There is no buzzy sound in it. I garuntee that is just part of the effect he is using. The clean sound on it is pure. It has coil taps so you can make each pickup single or double coil over.
ok, forgive the braindrain here, I noticed mine says JTK2 on the back of the headstock, sooo, I guess it is a "2". I got mine used so its got a little character if you will. I think the style of this guitar was heavily influenced by the Fender Jazzmaster, what do you think?
Is that the Jet King 2 as titled? I just bought a Jetking (not the JTK2) and it looks identical to the one in the video. Thanks for the video, these guitars have a great sound for the money
Pretty nice!

What's the action like on this guitar? Could it be set-up to have very low action like a Sheraton II for example?

@DrainpipEProductions
this sound patch using jcm2000#2 and treadplate cab.
if you want to create this kind of sound, flanger, a lots of treble and presence, and lower gain. i think.

Hows the neck? I hate the thin necks on the rg series Ibanez puts out.

Neck Dimension is seem to not different from RG.
However, I do not have the impression of thinn neck.

Width of the nut is different but it is near Squire's CShape neck.
so if you don't like thin neck, Ibanez would not good selection.
RipperCycroTron 3 years ago
Yeah, I really wasn't a big fan of Ibanez until I played an As73 of there artcore series and now I can't seem to put it down.

Wow, that sounded awesome.
Whats the name of the song ?

I want to hear the sound of your JTK1, because it is rare.
RipperCycroTron 3 years ago
Cool! So can you still swich the PU to single/Hum back and forth even if you change the PU?
Airgutarman 3 years ago

seasondyes1990 3 years ago
My guitar does not out of tune so much. i think that the reason is that 09-42 which is thinner than the original strings.
so the problem of your guitar is to be in the ditch of the nut.
RipperCycroTron 3 years ago
i have a broken one on my wall. it WAS a great guitar. cheap too!
purenectar 3 years ago
Actually using cheap parts such as wires and the volume pot, but there is easily exchange.

I think jetking is very cheap compared with the quality.
i usually use rg only but i was going to get it absolutely because i had missed buying talman.

great video by the way

What are those two things on the pickguard that look like switches?
Lespaulspecial2 3 years ago
This is a coil tap switch of bridge and neck PU.
RipperCycroTron 3 years ago
they are coil splitters, which turn humbuckers into single coils. I have one of these and they rock.

King jet's sound is trebly.
I am interested in the sound of your new PU and I want to hear it.l

Because, i noticed that dose not switched at that timing.

those are the pickup selectors/coil taps. each one turns the pickup on, off, or on in single coil mode.
PooPoo2U 4 years ago
wait, my bad. i forgot ibanez didn't go with the prototype setup. they're just coil taps, and the switch in the back is the selector
PooPoo2U 4 years ago
Thank you for the comment. I did not know the thing of the prototype.

Thank you. i searched at dictionary. but I can't understand that buzz's mean because explanation too many.
I think peavey amp is thought that it is the good one.
RipperCycroTron 4 years ago
Buzz - Means "a low, vibrating, humming sound, as of bees, machinery, or people talking." That's the definition. As if the sound isn't very clear.
majesty188 4 years ago
Because of super58pu has trebly characteristicthe, It is not thinkable loud and dirty sounds. thanks anyway.

Certainly shape of the body is looks like Fender JazzMaster.
but basic concept is reproduction of retrospective guitar such as Tesco and Danelectro, i think.

This jetking is specification in 2006,so some differs from the 2007's one.
Jetking of not 2 is really rare. I want to hear that sound.
