  • Same bass as me. Worst bass for tapping though. Damn jumbo frets.

  • Thats killer man!

Nice Bolt On btw, they have some great slapping tones!!

  • great tapping

  • apart from the tapping near the end (the rest of the tappins good) gd work...some of ur timings a little of but very good...oh and that intro iznt part of Country Music - its from Sexually Active

  • Yes, it is from Sexually Active. I sort of mixed both the live version of his solo with some of the studio bits

  • wow! good stuff i didnt know that could be done on the bass

  • sounds a lil like foggy mountain breakdown, lol i dig it

  • what is this gold member guy talking about warwick's are one of the best basses made. what kind of bass do you play now that is sooo much better than a warwick

  • a banjo bands bassist right there man i give ya props its really good

  • Your slapping is excellent, but you need to work on tapping a little more. Really slam on those high frets.

  • childish

  • Do you need to do this "double thumb" technique on this song, its something i cant seem to master :(

  • Not at all. Not a single part of this was double thumbed

  • train on metronome, and finger strenght, keep praticing

    liked ur slaps sound

  • The riff at 1:15 and thereafter was kick ass. Well done.

  • Awesome tone dude. Mega props :D

  • very very nnicccee mate!!! lovin the flavour of ur playing!!

  • awesomeee

  • Stu Hamm licks...nice job.

  • Fuck, best tone i've ever heard it just screams warwick?

    Great skills too!

  • Apparently you havent heard much than, Warwicks are a want to be high end "Baseball Bat" bass.

They feel more like drift wood to me than something id want to spend my hard earned money on.

  • Easy solution to that. Dont buy one.

    I personally love mine.

  • Thank you for that wonderfully insightful comment.

I however find them to be more than adequete for the price, and dont get beaten. Whilst I would love a Fodera or something along those lines, I dont feel, for the price, they are worth it.

  • I agree with you on that, really the only thing I dont like about them is the neck, theyre too beefy for me, I have huge hands but I prefer a thinner neck than that.

  • good man

  • good man!see my videos too,see you!!

  • I never liked Warwicks because for whatever reason the neck was always too thick for me. But no matter, your technique is fantastic, keep it up.

  • Stu Hamm did it first, but your version is pretty spot on.

  • haha, thats great. nice job

  • a fellow thumb user rock on bro

  • just work on that a little then post it again, when its clean

  • Warwick's own all.. I prefer my Corvette standard tho.

  • Good job! nice sound, it's like my warwick thumb bass

  • meh.

  • nice warwick, i love the thumbs =D

  • bahahahahaaaa awesome stuff mate

  • Stuuuuu!!! You like Mr. Hamm right?

  • Who doesnt?!

  • thats a solo stu hamm (joe satriani's)performs in live at san francisco

  • Some of it is, some of it isnt (the tapping part is from the studio version of "country music (a night in hell)"

  • slapping is stupid

  • Thank you for sharing that with us

  • i like your bass ;]

  • I like my bass too :D

  • check out mine (in some of my videos) its also a warwick ;] infinity SN

  • man good very good !

  • wow...im jealous...

  • hmmm....rofl..no...röflchen! i like it :D

  • Awesome

  • ahhah .. sounds like mexican music on the first seconds .. eheheses but the player plays veryyyyyy gooood... keep exxxxcelent.

  • got try...but don't post a video till you got it down 100%

  • very good man bravo!!!realy very nice

  • thats pussy shit

  • yur awsome

  • its like a banjo in the middle

  • You are so good!

  • first u sux dude.... but u got really better later! ;)

  • diggin the warwick bro good shit

  • pretty sweet bass, guy. nice chops! you deserve a nice bass like that - warwick, right? this is a lesson to all - have good equipment and you will ove to practice!!! keep writing!

  • awesome mate

  • get practice! you got what you need

  • damn, that middel part is nice dude!

  • well you have all kinds of influences kid

  • its more like a porno... you should have worn no pants at all and make all you dick stick out hahahaha... bass playing is fucking good

  • sounds good

  • hey its stu hamm's solo

  • at fist you suck. but it gets better

  • Your tapping sucks but your slap is nice.

  • is this the same killer fridge as on musicianforums? (or sputnik if you will .. )

  • Well, its not an especially common name (i think google searches only find things associated with me!)And who might you be?

  • awsome cover much better then i can do and i love the warwick thumb

  • It would sound better if your tapping was more staccato. The slapping was pretty good though.

  • OOOO!rhcp peanuts gang solo! iv been tryin to play that 4 like a year,do u know where i can get the tabs, its to hard:(

  • really unique and different sound. Sounds great

  • u suck black dick

  • Wow, so witty

  • what the fuck does that have to do with the video?

if you don't think he's talented say that. otherwise just keep you mouth shut so your stupidity doesn't polite the air around you.

  • *polute* not polite

  • Funny how thats the first thing that came to ur mind for an insult.... racist and a gay.... Good bassing!

  • dude, that was awesome, i can play something like that but you kick the shit out of my solo

  • sounds pretty cool!lol ...nice bass btw

  • yeah thats sturtt hamm the slaps very impressive keep it up

  • haha killerfridge is my friend! will you be my friend mr killerfridge???!! there are soooooooooooo many shite bassists on this site, i need a friend.

  • I found the solo boring :( But you're good ^^

  • thats was pretty awesome man.

  • dude that was great nice job

  • the good part starts at the slapping

  • DUDE plz plz plz! tell me were you learnt that!

  • That was pretty much like what Stu Hamm played in a video that i have...how many fingers do you have? LOL

  • Lol. That was fun to watch.

  • i thought it was good, fridge. i'm no expert on the topic, but i definetly don't agree with utinino. you seem to be very talented. like pinoyhaws said: impress us utinino

  • good good

  • i'm impressed. For those complaining, impress us...

  • 111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111

  • warwick WINS!!!! AGAIN!!

  • damn, i liked how you tapped the high strings to make it sound like a guitar was playing too! that shit was bonkarz!

  • really fun to watch, man :-)

  • why would you want to play something that has no groove to begin with anyway? learning a groove is more important than learning licks. Licks only get you so far. a groove will get you to the top.

  • Because I am not you. Just because I posted a video of me playing something fun, does not mean its the only thing/style I can play. Whilst I respect your critisisms, they are very closed minded ones, and somewhat pointless. I am also in a fairly bad mood, for other reasons, so this may sound harsher than it is. Thank you for saying the blindingly obvious.

  • Tapping on the bass should be stopped unless you know what you are doing. Too many people on this site insist they are great players cause they can tap a latin groove or a polka. Play me a GROOVE! something i can get down to. And dont forget about timing when you play, timing is paramount.

  • I dont understand? Youre complaining that my version of a stu hamm solo doesnt groove? fair enough, but I'm pretty certain the original didnt have the greatest amount of groove either

  • great...keep going,

    i loved it.

dont pay atentio to bad comments, they must be biusy whith the latesta crap from cristina, justin and kelly clarkson.

  • nice! i respect the high bridge on your bass makes it much harder to tap, attacking my strings is like tryna break a safe with your thumb (or fingers), but yeah i liked it! keep it up

  • that was awesome! well.. you kinda confused me at the 47 sec mark.... im posative you've added some notes in there... but hey it might be intended. :) well played

  • Hey thats good, i can do that solo took me quite a while to learn think urs sounds a tad better than mine tho :P

  • Nice Warwick

  • stu hamm is stil a little better at it, isn`t he mate?

  • hehe, just a little!

  • is it a spector?

  • Nope, its a Warwick Thumb

  • wow half the battle would be trying to remember it but that solo rules

  • Man am I tired to see some assholes writing that this thing or that thing suck ! That is a hard solo to play and fuck it needs a lot of practice to play half of it !!! I think I will found a site against all assholes who don't know fucking shit about all the hours of work it takes to achieve this !!!!!! Cheers

  • This is good!

  • kiaoo ur a wanker u no jack shit about music

  • i think you suck. this sounds baaad!!

  • I play the guitar and want to learn bass, too.

I think you are awesome man!

  • nice!!!!!! I kinda learnt this same bass solo cept i can't do the tapping parts very well and the middle bit where he kinda just goes nuts, i can't do! =( but you got skillz mate, SKILLZ lol!!

  • the slap sequence is great

  • awesome dude! hey I've been playing bass now for 2 years and have become fucking addicted! If any bassest here would like to give me some pointers on shit...I'd absoltely love to talk shop.

  • fucking great

  • sweet =)

and its awesome that you know and admit your mistakes and you dont get defensive and curse people off.

even if the playing was sloppy we know your not an ass.

  • Well, its all for a reason - you cant improve if you think you're already the greatest! Theres no point in getting defensive over what is meant to be for fun, and people (usually) critisize for a reason. You can either accept what they are saying, and use it to help you improve, or you can sit in your own bubble of ignorance, staying at the same level of crapness. I prefer to do the former :D

  • what the hell, the guy is playing the bass at least.

  • I find this uninteresting except for a couple certain parts.

  • Brilliant playing...i really enjoyed that. you got some talent my friend

  • And people say bassists are "lame guitarists". You are proof to quite the opposite. =)

  • stu hamm wannabe... work on it... you're gettin there. coulda injected a bit of your own stuff

  • cool nice man.

  • wow ur so better than me

  • Et... tu n'as pas quelque chose de plus... personnel a jouer Joe La Pompe ?

  • nice Warwick

  • consistency man, you play well, but your sound is a bit sloppy, stu rulez.

  • I envy your talnet, rock on

  • that was great.. you should post your profile in webdate.com i'm sure you will get a lot of interest from hot chix there..

  • it sounds like mario bros

  • i thought the same thing lol

  • lol makes me want to learn bass O.o

  • Nice

  • i know this!!! Stu Hamm does this on the Joe Satriani DVD! and at shows!

  • if you like this guy, you should check out Victor Whooten

  • nicely done it rlly kicked ass gr8 playing

  • Nice, Stuart Ham is one of the best bass players ever. I also have the instructional video and is very creative.

  • sick.. that was awesome!

  • Fuck all you guys slagging him for not being perfect. As long as he is having fun, he is doing well. Stu Hamm is a player whose level of talent we all aspire to reach, but few of us will. Just because someone can play his chops well, doesnt make him as talented as...but I digress. The guy doing Cuntry music is doing a fine job.If someone wants to rip him, then do it by posting a video of yourself doing it, or shut up. I am a good bass player, not a great one, but I am not an asshole either.

  • lol, stu hamm, good stuff. altho i recommend you watch the dvd or listen to the live track a few more times cos there are actually a few bits (particularly the tapping) that your doing slightly off.

not knocking you tho, nicely done. :-)

  • Yeah, I know :D I completly missed out a few sections of the song for the sake of I cant even start to play them! The tapping is a quite off too, because I'm not really that much of a tapper, and just plain screw up!

  • dang man you got some skill even if it got sloppy i dont know alot of bass players who can play stu hamm(well acually alot of them dont know who he is) keep

    keep playin keep rocking

  • hmm not that good sorry

  • nice

  • haha

    thats down

  • What song is this??

  • The first bit is the intro to Sexually Active, the main Country Music sounding piece, is....Country Music (a night in Hell) by Stu Hamm

  • You know your mistakes so this is fine, its tight, get one of you playing it better on here and it will be tight.

  • Lol, I would, if only I could play it better! I'd be happy if I could play it like that again!

  • Sweet man. The tapping parts were a little sloppy at times, but the slap stuff was right on! What did you change the pickups to? Tone is awesome.

  • Changed out the old MECs (wasnt too fond of them) to some Dimarzio Model Js - they really bring out the midrange growl of the Thumb when EQ'd correctly

  • FUNNY!!

  • Stu hamm rocks on that solo

  • that's actually really cool, how do do you get the strings to make that perfect sound?

i replaced my strings and it only made that perfect sound for 2 days...(they were DR's)

  • By recording this the day after I had put some new strings on! I had just replaced the pickups (hence the reason for the recording, was showing people how they sounded) and so I changed the strings at the same time. Warwick Black labels btw

  • that was amazing. i loved the end i do that same thing on my electric violin. great job :D

  • Cool! Have you recorded any vids? If you have send me a link XxX

  • funny XD

  • it is nice

  • thats pretty cool and wat bass u got? u r rite it is bit sloppy but i cant say anyhtin aint dat good :D

  • Warwick Thumb. Awesome.

  • very good anyway! Keep it up!

  • gettin there

  • is the slap bit hammer on from 4-5 then pop twice on the open g or something else cos thats how I do it

  • It theortecially doesnt make any difference, as they are both G, but I slap 4, hammer 5, slap 5 then pop the G. Either way, same music is made!

  • nice bass!!!!!! is it an ibanez? cuzz my friend has that bass!!! you kick ass love the tapping!!!! you should see my vid with my bass player in it!!!

  • Nah theyre different basses - your friends is an Ibanez, and mine is a Warwick Thumb. And youve got a damn good bassist!

  • Haha, don't worry about it, we all do that.

  • thats better mate -- il give u 4/5

    youre still ugly tho.

  • really good playing mate;-)

  • Its almost there, go back and practice it all SLOWLY. Try to get the first solo down too, I think its the hardest part. Keep at it.

  • What was wrong with the first solo? I thought I got that down pretty well?!

  • I mean the first solo on the record: The fingerstyle country one, the slap solo you play is the second one.

You do have the first one down pretty much except where you timing runs away with itself, thats why we practice things slowly.

  • Ooh, that bit. Yeah thats fair enough, I screwed up enough times on that bit!

  • that was good now i see why your so critical on other ppl lol

  • 18 months... that's jaw-droppingly good. That Phil Mulford guy must really be able to get the natural talent to the surface. Well done.

  • Stu Hamm is god :)

Good work, I didn't like the instructional video, but you've redeemed yourself :P

  • Just wondering...Do you or did you take lessons or develop by yourself.

  • This kind of solo work was kinda developed by me, but all the fundamentals (ie how to tap/slap properly and to get my left hand technique correct) were helped along greatly by my bass tutor Phil Mulford. Hes a well respected session musican and I am damn lucky to get him as a tutor!
