@BrooklynChivalry You didn't know?!?! Man, Meatball lost 150 lbs and changed his named to Robert Downey Jr. just to play Iron Man, and Spaghetti changed her name to Jessica Alba and became "The Invisible Woman"
@rang3r34 I agree!Spaghetti was HOT!And I was really surprised that the artists got away with the BOOTY SHORTS on a Saturday morning cartoon character! It should've been call Meatball and Sexy!!!
I think that is the thin guy (a gilligan rip-off, certainly)
As far as I remeber, the dog never said anything, he only had his "panting laugh" moment... doing nothing but grinning in the cam wqith a panting laugh xD
What I loved about this cartoon the most was CBS played it opposite The Smurfs. I absolutely hated those innocent little blue morons, and loved the fact that there was a good ol' Rock and Roll cartoon I could watch instead. My cousins didn't like it when they came over, but that was just tough.
This used to be my favorite cartoon when I was a kid. Too bad it only lasted one season. I wish there were videos of whole episodes but I can't find them anywhere.
It's wild how your conscious mind has totally forgotten something then you see something like this and bam it comes back. I believe this was some sort of homage to the singer Meatloaf who was real popular during the time.
I saw this once, about 23 years ago. Strangely it's exactly what I remember. I wonder why I never thought to look it up in my last 12 years of internet surfing.
"The Honeymooners" form a rock band & hit the road... That's pretty much what this show was. So glad a friend found this... Now I have proof of this show existing! Before, every time I mention this show to someoine while talkin' of cartoons, then try to describe it to them, they'd look at me like I just said I'm from another planet!
@Henrimonster I thought I was crazy and this wasnt a real show. My brother is 2 years older than me and we used to watch this show and when I sang him the song he said I made it up!
Wasn't this show based on Meatloaf? I havent seen this since 1982! Thanks, I'd appreciate it if someone knows, I'm writing a book on cartoons of that era and need info.
CBS's 1982-1983 Saturday Morning Line-Up 8:00am Speed Buggy 8:30am Sylvester & Tweety/Daffy & Speedy 9:30am The Bugs Bunny/Road Runner Show 10:30am Gilligan's Planet 11:00am Pandamonium 11:30am Meatballs & Spaghetti 12:00pm The Popeye and Olive Comedy Show 12:30pm The New Fat Albert Show 1:00pm Blackstar 1:30pm The CBS Children's Film Festival
voices of Ron Masak as Meatballs, Sally Julian as Spaghetti, Barry Gordon as Clyde, and Peter Cullen as Woofer. Funny show if pre-empted too much from the CBS schedule because of their NCAA basketball and football games.
OMG!!!! Flashback to my childhood! I sooo loved that cartoon. And especially the opening/ending song! Finding this video was just a coincident. I never thought finding anything of that! AWESOME! Thank you so much for uploading :D
I watched this! For the life of me, I can't remember one episode, but know all the words to the theme song!

@bgurl81 I know this might be way late in answering your question.. but the Dog's name was woofer. (Skinny guy was Clyde)
Jazzy9964 1 year ago 2
@bgurl81 The text is "But it's Quaids fault!?"
I think that is the thin guy (a gilligan rip-off, certainly)

Without a doubt, the best lyric of any cartoon theme song:
Hey, clown... SIDDOWN!

Well, now we know who Coop's parents are. ~_^
(It *would* explain a few things) X3
Then again, one wonders how they'd react to having a giant robot (named Megas) bursting out of their garage...or their son's new girlfriend/roommate.
Anything can happen in a cartoon, after all.
(along with the usual fan-made stories and artwork)
Anyway, thank you for posting this intro, Jazzy. It rekindled a few memories from my childhood.
(Not all of them happy but what can you do? *shrug*) X3
